Glen Cottage - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Entering the cottage from the porch, the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a charming sociable living space for unwinding after a day of adventures. There are two comfortable leather sofas to curl up on in front of the cosy log-burning stove while you enjoy your favourite series on the Smart TV or a good book.

The brand new kitchen overlooks the pretty garden and comes fully equipped with fridge, induction hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher. On warmer days why not open up the french doors for an al fresco drink and nibble - or even just a serene moment observing the comings and goings of the resident birds and wildlife. At the back of the garage there is a useful utility space with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Moving upstairs there are two beautiful bedrooms. The master bedroom is at the front of the cottage with king size bed, double windows and plenty of storage space, and the twin bedroom is to the back of the cottage. Both bedrooms have quality beds and mattresses, made up with crisp white bed linen and towels. The bathroom has a mirror with lighting, WC hand wash basin and beautiful bath with shower over, ideal for reinvigorating tired muscles,

There is an electric vehicle charging point next to the private allocated covered car parking space (please note the charging point is shared with Spa Cottage next door)

Guests can enjoy complimentary WiFi

There is an abundance of choice when it comes to walking routes, or why not bring your bike with you to see even more of this beautiful area with pedal power. There is a lockable shed at the back of the garden for storage.

It would be easy to park up and enjoy a jam-packed car-free holiday. Braithwaite amenities include three lovely pubs serving food and local ales, village shop and a tea room. Theres nearby Whinlatter Forest along with a huge selection of walks and outdoor activities to choose from, a nearby bus stop with routes taking you all over the Lake District, and Keswick town centre only minutes away.

Great cottage

Really enjoyed our stay at Glen Cottage. Comfortable, well equipped and in a great location. We loved the garden, sat outside, great for our dog and would be for children as completely enclosed. We want to come back!

Lovely cottage

We had a lovely stay in Glen cottage though when we arrived late afternoon there was no key in the key safe! A quick phonecall to Keswick Cottages and it was sorted within 15 minutes, a key was brought out to us ! The welcome packs were lovely but just a little niggle , salt and pepper and a kitchen roll would have been helpful. All in all , a lovely stay , thank you …we shall definitely return!

Cosy Cottage

We had a lovely stay here, perfect location for walks, pubs/restaurants, Keswick town. The cottage had everything we needed and more, loved the garden for our dog and very comfy bed.

We cannot fault the property. Beautifully decorated and equipped, very cosy and in a great location. It had everything we needed for a relaxing family break in The Lakes. Thank you!

This was a truly lovely place to stay with a helpful owner. The location was great located within walking distance of several hiking trailheads, the village shop, and several restaurants. It was comfortable, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed.

A great stay

This is a lovely cottage in the heart of the Braithwaite village, accessible for transport, walking, cycling etc. all amenities you would expect & comfortable beds. Parking & electric charging point were an added bonus ( once we worked it out!) Bathroom / hot shower great after a busy day. Decent sized smart TV & a porch for all the wet walking gear! Lovely garden but weather not too warm yet to enjoy to its full potential. Freezer a good plus for food delivery & washing/ drying facilities also excellent. Could get a touch too warm upstairs but reduced the heating to resolve this.

Perfect cottage for us, the dog & a week of adventure

Loved our stay at Glen Cottage. Lovely welcome pack for us and the dog. The cottage was very cosy & had everything we needed. Great little garden too & just across the road from the village shop and pubs. Perfect!

Hi Emily, Thank you for your review. Glen Cottage in Braithwaite is very handy for the village shop and the 2 pubs close by serve great food and real ales from the local area. There are plenty of walks right from the doorstep including Barrow and Grisedale Pike or just a walk in to Keswick where there are lots of quirky shops, most of which are dog friendly. Really enjoyable stay in Glen Cottage

Superb location, lovely well equipped cottage with great walks from the door and the benefit of being able to leave the car in the garage. Excellent café and 3 good pubs within walking distance.

Fabulous cottage stay.

Lovely, well appointed, equipped and cosy cottage in the heart of Braithwaite. Perfectly positioned with easy access to the village shop, two pubs and other restaurants and fell walks from the doorstep. Ideal for a getaway for a couple. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Glen Cottage

Our second stay at Glen Cottage. Great location for exploring north western lake district. Really useful to have a parking space, superb walks accessible from the cottage, set in a lovely village with 3 pubs and 2 cafes within walking distance too. Cottage has been extremely well refurbished and a super place to stay in any season. Log burner nice to have in winter but took some lighting and the use of firelighters might have helped with this.

Family break

Excellent refurbishment, well appointed and good location with parking for one car. Great house in a quiet part of the Lakes with good access to the hills on foot so no need to drive. Two good pubs in the village and a good village shop with the bare essentials and lots of treats.

The village shop is very handy and with two pubs close by and a café, you are spoiled for choice for food options. There are lots of walks you can do right from the cottage doorstep, including Barrow and Grisedale Pike. Lovely Home from Home Cottage

A lovely cottage set in the heart of Braithwaite. Lovely views of the hills and woodland from the garden and very quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed and everything was very comfortable. A very modern feel to the property and and lovely deep bath with plenty of warm water for baths and showers. We did have a problem getting the heating to come on but as it wasn’t particularly cold it wasn’t a huge issue though the towel rail didn’t come on all week. We had the log wood burner when it got a little chilly. A well equipped kitchen with everything we needed when we cooked. A very pleasant stay and we can’t wait to return.

Great cottage, great location

Lovely well kitted cottage within easy reach of Keswick and surrounding area right in the heart of the Lake District. Cottage located near lovely village shop and two pubs serving great food. Easy access into the hills and local walks from the doorstep. Would highly recommend and stay again. Communication and information provided by Keswick Cottages was excellent - would definitely use them again.

Weekend retreat

Lovely cottage, very clean, plenty of crockery etc.Nice & warm with the underfloor heating.Great location with corner shop, pub 2 mins walk away, but would book a table in advance.Highly recommended

Another fabulous stay at Glen Cottage

This was our second holiday in this lovely cottage. It is in a great location with the village shop and tearoom across the road and 2 pubs very close by. The cottage is very well equipped and renovated to a high standard. We were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather and it was lovely to have breakfast in the beautiful garden and relax in it after long walks. We can't wait to return in the future

A week in June

We were really impressed with the cottage. Loved the dog welcome packs too. Very clean and comfortable with good kitchen equipment. Our only issue was that the internet didn’t work all week after some storms before we arrived.

Superb!!

A stone throw away from Keswick, the cottage’s couldn’t have been better positioned, there are hundreds of miles of walks from the cottage without having to get on the car, it was just perfect for us, our dogs aren’t big car fans. The cottage itself was cosy and tidy just like a cottage should be, everything worked seamlessly. Thank you so much for having us, we absolutely adored it

Great cottage in our favourite village

A lovely cottage, newly renovated, with everything needed for us as a couple and our collie dog (I could see it being a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults though). It’s perfectly located for great walks from the doorstep and for eating out without driving anywhere. My only very minor niggle was the low level lighting and front hall security lights coming on every time you moved in the living room. It was unfortunate we picked a very wet December week, and after many soakings, decided to come home a day early as there are only so many times you can dry off a wet dog. Would not hesitate to come back again though.

Autumn Break in Braithwaite at Glen Cottage

Just returned from an amazing week at Glen Cottage in Braithwaite, the perfect place to explore the hills around the Newlands Valley, both low and high level walking, with the benefit of 2 pubs in the village to recoup, and some lovely tea rooms too, if you can't be bothered to cook. The Keswick Cottages staff are really helpful too, whenever we need our Lake District boost, we always come to Keswick, and use this service, we've never had a bad experience.

Lovely cottage but wouldn’t think it is suitable for 4 Adults especially 2nd Bedroom A few tweaks needed Log burner needs protected glove for opening door when alight and maybe tongs when putting logs on fire Not much storage for food
