We had a wonderful time. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed, host was responsive and pool and hot tub were great. There is a great produce stand at the bottom of the hill that is run by a neighbor. Great local fruit, vegetables and eggs. The garage had boogie boards, beach chairs, a beach umbrella and cooler bags to use which was a welcomed surprise. The only downside were the pool/beach towels. They were super thin and cheap. Overall great stay though.

We never wanted to stop looking at the view. Chaise to hot tub to pool; repeat. We enjoyed being close to town and having plenty of parking.

House was everything we needed and more. Pool was a big hit, beautiful view, barbecue and all the appliances you could need. The bedrooms were all very comfortable and it worked out great for our two small families since each had their own wing. Would love to stay here again!

Kona family vacation

This was one of the best trips weā€™ve had!!! This house was amazing and let us have family dinners every night and family pool time everyday!!! We laughed and played games and ate like kings!! Best kitchen area to have a few people cooking together as well!!! Definitely want to come back to this property!!

Beautiful home.

This was exactly what we needed in a vacation home. The home is just as advertised. Loved the lanai. Did not eat one meal inside. The view was amazing. Loved watching the sunset each evening. We had amazing weather. Although it does cloud up every afternoon. But itā€™s just I. Time for a siesta. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful house in a lovely location

This was our second stay at Mahi Lulani in Holualoa and it was another great trip. The house is perfect for 3 or 4 couples with beautiful open spaces, privacy, wonderful views and lovely outdoor living areas. The kitchen is large and very well appointed with everything you need. Everything worked (mostly) and was in good condition. We used the outdoor BBQ quite a bit and when the propane ran dry, Kona Coast brought in new tanks within 24 hours. I would not hesitate to return to this really wonderful property.

It was excellent. Great house with a great location. Highly recommend this place. Good communication. Only thing for me was the pool couldnā€™t be heated and it was too cold to use for all of us here. Was important to me but if thatā€™s not important to you then I wouldnā€™t hesitate to book here again. Excellent choice. Even watched whales from the comfort of our lanai.

Kona Magic

We joined our oldest friends for the most wonderful long weekend weā€™ve ever had in almost 15 years of vacationing together. This home was immaculate. The owners were so incredibly gracious and kind to share this place with us we are deeply grateful. The scheduling and check-in process was incredibly easy with clear communication at every step along the way. The property was even more beautiful than the pictures offered. Inside, the kitchen was stocked with so many wonderful appliances and cooking supplies that we had a blast cooking all our meals and sharing them at the large dining tables inside and out. The location, the property, the process - absolutely everything made this easily the favorite home we have ever rented. Thank you for making our trip what it was.

Out of this world property!

Usually you find one or two things about a stay that you expected would be different or better, but not here! Not only did this property meet our expectations it delighted them to no end and exceeded them! Highlights for us were the pristine pool and hot tub, the expansive view, peaceful and quiet location, and with three 16 year old soccer fans, the tucked in soccer net and yard! The home was well stocked and everything promised was there. I really couldn't say enough about the property and the management team.

Amazing home-absolutely wonderful

We met family here and stayed for a week with our adult children. The home was fabulous and very comfortable! Itā€™s really well stocked with anything you could need while staying there. The views from the home are incredible and the neighborhood is quiet. Itā€™s also pretty conveniently located to restaurants, shopping and the harbor where many island excisions launch from. The only down side was that the 4th bedroom only has access to a half bath and there is no access to any of the other showers without going through someoneā€™s bedroom. Not really an issue if you have small kids. But was a pain with adults. But even this was a minor inconvenience and did not take away from our incredible week there in the home!

Beware of mosquitoes

The house was everything we could have hoped for. Beautiful house, pool, view. Mosquitoes where one of our big problems. Within in 2 days we all looked like we had the measles. Dusk was the worst time to sit on the Lanai. Our other issue was the entry way pavers. I tripped and hit my head hard getting a black eye, twisted my neck scraped my knee, and received a large bruise on my thigh. Spend several day in bed. Flight home was not fun. So beware! DO NOT USE FRONT DOOR! Would we stay again absolutely. However we would ask the owners to spray for mosquitoes before our visit.

We had some pretty heavy rain during your stay so that makes the mosquito activity even greater. I'm sorry to hear of you tripping in the main entry way. It also gets really dark here in Kona so we instruct guests to enter the home through the garage rather than that main entry way. Hawaiian Haven

We truly enjoyed staying at this property. The inside and the outside of the house are beautiful and well-maintained. The location is prime. The companyā€™s communication is very professional. The amenities available for guests to useā€” snorkels, pool floats, beach chairs, toys, games, etcā€” are a very nice touch. One negative thing I will say that this is NOT a 4 bathroom property as listed. It has a huge and glamorous master bathroom (1), a ā€œJack and Jillā€ bathroom between the other two rooms with king sized beds (2) and a half bathroom (total 2.5). There are only 2 showers in the house and the hot water is regulated to certain times, which is a good thing to know if youā€™re booking with an adult family. Also, the frogs (you may think they are birds, but there are just hundreds of frogs in the trees and bushes) are incredibly loud at night, so bring a white noise machine and/or earplugs. Overall, I would definitely recommend, just wanted to clarify a few things.

Beautiful Home Above Kona

We stayed here for Ironman, the home was just far enough from busy Kona town. The home is very private located at the tree line above Kona. The rooms were comfy with plenty of room. This home has a large driveway and garage to keep your stuff in. The pool was really nice with a beautiful view of Kona. This home doesnā€™t have AC but after 9pm the home cools down. There is a lot of nature at the tree line so you will hear frogs all night..

Lovely Home

My family just spent a fabulous May in Kona at the Mahi Lulani house. Most of the great aspects are already covered by other reviews: the view and interior are as gorgeous as advertised, the location is convenient to Kona activities. Although far from a really nice sandy swimming beach, itā€™s only about a 15 minute drive to great snorkeling or the large tidepool that serves as a keiki (children) beach. There are beach toys and coolers, lots of towels, books and puzzles (more now!) The wi-fi was fine both to work and stream with. The kitchen is big and well stocked with appliances, glasses, etc. The pool is amazing and very clean. The service from Kona Concierge was generally great. We had an issue with streaming from the large living room television ā€” it was replaced the next day! On the other hand, here are a few things you might want to consider: 1) bugs and frogs: the coqui frogs have made it to Kona. These are tiny frogs that have a pretty noisy birdlike call. They start at sunset and go til about 4, and the birds start at 4:30. Most of us got used to these quickly, but not everyone in our party was able to sleep well. With no AC, all the windows needed to be open on hot evenings. The noise is strongest in the two bedrooms farthest from the pool. And, maybe because there was more rain in may than usual, the mosquitos were a bit overwhelming for most of us. At some point one of us had over 30 bites, while others had only one or two. 2) safety: this is not an accessible house. The gorgeous infinity pool has no handrail. This is pretty clear from the pictures, but if there were a way to put one in temporarily that would be amazing. 3) hot water and dishwasher: we were five adults going in and out of the pool. The washing machine was a life-saver and did well with water of any temp. The dishwasher, on the other hand, and shower in the north wing, were often useless. We only found out when we called the company to let them know about a neighborhood power-outage (in case anything needed resetting) that THE HOT WATER IS ON A TIMER. Huh? When we washed dishes after 8 pm, even after slamming the dishwasher shut, which was required, the cold water did nothing.

30th Anniversary Celebration with family

The view and the pool and the patio and the house were all amazing! We had many homemade meals on the patio and the hot tub was also used, believe it or not! Awesome to wind down the day with a glass of wine and a warm soak. We stayed 19 daysā€¦ā€¦and loved every minute!

Spectacular View

6 adult stayed for 8 nights. The house is very comfortable. Big rooms, great lanai area with pool and spa. The kitchen and entire house were very well stocked. There is an orange, lemon and avocado tree on the property. The lemons in particular were great. We loved the house and are already thinking of coming back.

Great Vacation Home

Home was better than we were expecting, location is excellent proximity to Kailua groceries and diner spots. Neighborhood is quiet and feels secluded. Pool and hot tub were both perfect size and water temperatures. The pool and outdoor area are expectational, 90% of our time at the home was utilizing the outdoor amenities. Bedrooms are of good size, TVs are outfitted with everything you need for a movie night. Standup desk in the master bedroom was extremely welcomed. Internet speed was exceptional. We had a question about the pool water level which the owner responded to extremely quickly. Best vacation experience our family has had. We vacationed with a family of 5, kids between 10-14 years of age and a set of grandparents. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we hope to visit again.

Fantastic!

We have rented houses all over the world, but none were as close to perfect as this one! Beautiful, well maintained, super clean, and the outdoor areas are stunning!

Tropical Oasis for Rejuvenation

We were a party of two professional couples, well traveled. We have rented many VRBO homes all over and would put this one at the top of the list! The quality of the home and location were beyond our expectations. The mgmt company was VERY attentive and it was a wonderful vacation! Would not hesitate to reccommend to others.

Amazing property

This home is situated hillside with a terrific view of the bay and city. The property is very private with a lush garden and wonderful neighbors. The home is incredibly clean and well laid out to give everyone their own space. The description of this home does not mention the abundance of appliances, utensils and serving ware. There were also pool toys and beach supplies which were appreciated,making beach trips more enjoyable. The lanai and pool are wonderful and spacious with great shade and comfortable seating. This house is a must when visiting the big island.

Covid vaca

This was a nice way to be able to be with friends and family after this last yr. We were able to enjoy ourselves safely and the kids could come and go to the pool as much as they wanted! Great family spot!!
