I’m so sorry to hear that you couldn’t sleep! One downside of a vintage house - it creaks a bit. We have never had anyone say they couldn’t sleep before, though... we are early sleepers, so it must have been the younger, rambunctious cats along with usual old house sounds. Front access to the property is definitely a hill climb. We usually encourage guests to use the back entrance and park on 10th Ave. I will definitely install more bathroom hooks and appreciate the feedback.

Our renovation is taking longer than expected:( Now that I know how much noise carries from that area we won't have work done while guests are here. And you're right- we need to tame that grape vine! Not the best placement, I fear. You are wonderful people and the best guests. I'm truly sorry your stay was not up to our expectations 😔

The front incline to the apartment is disclosed twice in the first paragraph of the property description. “Perched above a stone walkway, Easy access through the back…to avoid the steep front walkway…”. I called the guest a night prior to arrival as there had been no response to previous communications. She briefly mentioned her husband’s height in reference to needing the second bedroom available. The ceiling height is more than adequate- but I lapsed in neglecting to recall/mention the second entry door is 6 ft 3.3 inches. The accommodation is listed as an apartment. As owners living on the upper floor we maintain a quiet residence. We were asleep by 10:30pm and up at 5am. We have CATS that roam at all hours indoors. This is twice, in 15 years of renting, our cat’s activities have disturbed guests at night. Highly sensitive sleepers are advised to rent a stand alone residence. After receiving the above review as an early morning text I immediately pursued a refund and tried to accommodate them in other ways. They received a prompt refund.
