Casa 5A is not simply a holiday home, it is a carefully curated house shaped by a passion for authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless beauty.

Created by a specialist in antique and decorative pieces, the house reflects years of working with unique objects, noble materials, and spaces with soul. Many of the elements you will find here are one-of-a-kind thoughtfully selected and integrated with respect for texture, quality, and harmony.

The house was entirely renovated with great care, prioritising natural materials, refined details, and a calm, cohesive atmosphere. It is designed for guests who appreciate character, aesthetic intention, and quiet elegance rather than standard accommodation.

Located in a very small and peaceful village with no passing traffic, Casa 5A offers true tranquillity. Surrounded by greenery, the area provides beautiful walking routes, several nearby "Blue Flag" river beaches, and easy access to Bussaco Forest, Coimbra, and Luso making it an ideal base to explore central Portugal while returning each day to silence and comfort.

Breakfast can be arranged in advance and served in the garden of the main house (extra cost applies). Guests are also welcome to visit the private showroom, where a curated selection of antique and decorative pieces is displayed with no obligation, simply as part of the experience.

Having a deep appreciation for food, local restaurants, and cooking, I would be delighted to share my personal recommendations from special dining experiences to simple, authentic places loved by locals should you wish to explore the region through its flavours.

We have stayed in many holiday homes over the years, but this was without a doubt the most beautiful one we have ever experienced. The house is tastefully designed, beautifully decorated, and finished to an exceptionally high standard. From the moment we arrived, it felt like home – in fact, it's the kind of place you could happily live in permanently.Everything has been carefully thought through. From the whisper-quiet fan in the bedroom, which ensured a perfect night's sleep, to the beautiful barbecue, an excellent coffee machine, a large fridge with freezer compartment, a drying rack, and lovely ambient lighting. Every detail reflects the care and attention the owner has put into making her guests feel comfortable.The location is just as perfect. It is an ideal base for exploring the region, while still allowing you to enjoy the peace and authenticity of rural Portugal, surrounded by nature. Exactly what we were looking for.The owner made our stay even more special with her genuine hospitality. She welcomed us personally when we arrived and came to say goodbye when we left. She took a sincere interest in getting to know us, and even had fresh coffee waiting for us upon arrival. This kind of personal warmth is something you rarely experience.This stay exceeded all our expectations and gave us memories that we will cherish for a long time. We wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful place to anyone looking for peace, comfort, quality, and truly exceptional hospitality

Hosting Casa 5A is a natural extension of what I love to do. It allows me to share a space that has been created with intention and care, and to welcome guests who appreciate beauty, tranquillity, and meaningful details. For me, it is not just about renting a house, but about offering an experience of comfort, authenticity, and aesthetic harmony.

I chose to live here because of the deep sense of calm and connection to nature that this place offers. Life in the village moves at a slower, more grounded rhythm the days feel longer, quieter, and more intentional.

One of my favourite aspects is the proximity to nature: the surrounding greenery, the changing light throughout the seasons, and the simple pleasure of stepping outside into silence. In the summer, I especially love going to the river and enjoying the nearby river beaches, it brings a beautiful balance between refreshment and tranquillity.

At the same time, being relatively close to a city like Coimbra allows me to enjoy cultural life, restaurants, and urban energy whenever I wish, while still returning home to peace and open space. For me, this contrast nature and culture, stillness and inspiration is what makes this location truly special to my eyes.

What makes Casa 5A truly unique is the intention behind every detail.

The lighting was carefully designed to create a warm and enveloping atmosphere, enhancing textures and natural materials throughout the day and offering a soft, intimate ambience in the evening. Light here is not accidental, it is part of the experience.

All decorative elements have been personally curated. Each object was selected with attention to quality, craftsmanship, and authenticity. Rather than following trends, the house reflects a consistent aesthetic vision rooted in timeless materials and thoughtful composition.

Several elements carry personal and historical meaning. The linen curtains are made from antique fabric that originally belonged to the main house, where linen was cultivated many years ago. The kitchen table was designed by my grandfather and carefully recovered during the restoration works of the family house. These pieces connect the present space with its past, adding depth and continuity.

More than decoration, Casa 5A is the result of care, memory, and respect for materials. It is a space where heritage, design, and tranquillity meet creating an atmosphere that cannot be replicated.
