Located only one mile from the town of Benezette, Buck Haven Lodge is a cabin that offers close proximity to Elk Country’s best attractions, but also boasts 6 private acres of wooded land for tenants to enjoy. Elk routinely move through the old-growth hemlock and pine, with masses of native ferns coloring the forest floor.
The newly renovated Buck Haven Lodge has two bedrooms, a full bath, a fully-stocked kitchen, and a cozy living room complete with a propane fire place. Whether you are interested in elk viewing, fishing, hunting, hiking or just experiencing the beauty of the Pennsylvania mountains, Buck Haven Lodge offers both convenience of location and enough privacy to enjoy your getaway.
The living area boasts a spacious, open floor plan. The kitchen has large appliances including a full-sized refrigerator, propane stove and oven, and microwave. Small appliances such as a coffee pot and toaster are available, as well as a generous number of other items to ensure you have everything you need to prepare and enjoy a meal, such as pots, pans, bakeware, serving utensils, plates, cups, eating utensils, etc. The living room has enough seating for everyone with a couch (which is a sleeper sofa that can accommodate extra guests), loveseat and a recliner. For those chilly nights in the mountains, guests can enjoy the propane fireplace. There is a flat-screen television with Dish Network and WiFi, as well.
There is a spacious, full bathroom with a commode, sink, and bathtub/shower combination. There are two bedrooms, each bedroom has a window looking out at the woods behind the cabin, a queen-sized bed and generous closet.
For those looking to relax by a campfire and enjoy the mountain air, there is a custom-made fire ring with swinging grates for cooking over the fire. There are also two Adirondack chairs at the front side of the cabin for guests to relax in while enjoying mountain views.

Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: Bryan Lukehart & Jennifer Helman
An unlikely pair, Bryan grew up in Marion Center, Pennsylvania where he was raised on the family farm, tending to fields, and hunting and fishing when he got the chance; Jennifer grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, and when she came to Indiana County, PA to attend IUP, she fell in love with the outdoors and never left the area.
Bryan's family has a camp on Wolf Lick, and since he was a child, Bryan grew up fishing the streams in Elk Country, and hunting bear and whitetail deer in the abundant State Game and Forest Lands. Needless to say, Bryan's roots as an outdoorsman run deep, and still today, he is an avid fisherman, hunter, and trapper.
Almost a decade ago, Jennifer was introduced to Elk Country by Bryan's dad, Ed, and the two have put on countless miles photographing elk and sightseeing. Despite growing up in the city, Jennifer developed a deep love for the outdoors, she is an avid trail runner and hiker, and also likes to hunt and fish.
O que faz essa propriedade ser única?
The town of Benezette is largely enveloped by Elk State Forest and reclaimed land that has been developed by the DCNR, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and other organizations to create a habitat for the majestic Pennsylvania elk herd. Naturally, there is not a large amount of private land in and around Benezette.
Needless to say, we were ecstatic when we were able to buy a cabin with 6 acres right in the heart of elk country! After a couple months of updates, it was ready to welcome tenants who could appreciate the undeveloped land right outside the door.
Our greatest hope is that people will love having local attractions and restaurants close by, while still getting a “cabin in the mountains” experience!
