Relaxing, Cozy Home Among The Pines Near Twain Harte.

Two bedrooms, two bathrooms in this cozy cabin/house perfect for family vacations or cozy getaways for 1-2 couples. Nestled among the pines with a wrap-around deck on two sides for relaxing reading and dining in the summertime evenings. Covered porch with a gas BBQ and a porch swing with additional seating off the kitchen. Sloping lot up to the house with pine trees and shrubs for a natural ambiance in a quiet neighborhood with privacy for maximum enjoyment of the outdoors. First part of driveway is steep but gently sloping after that.

The quaint town of Twain Harte is only 5 minutes away by car, with several restaurants if you don't want to cook and the "hidden jewel", locally owned Twain Harte Market offers a lovely selection of local, regional & international food products if you prefer to eat in. For your winter enjoyment, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is only 30 minutes away, and Long Barn Lodge with indoor skating rink (open in early Nov. - March) is only 10 minutes away. In the summer ~ Pinecrest Lake for hiking, boating, kayaking fishing & picnicking is 20 minutes away, and the Historic Gold Rush communities of Sonora, Columbia, & Jamestown with the Historic Railtown 1897 (offering steam engine train rides April - October) are 30-40 minutes away.

Deck entry to the great room with two comfortable couches and a settee, and a 50" flat-screen TV with DVD and wireless access. Wonderful selection of CD's and DVD's, with many selections for children. Kitchen and dining area is three steps up from the great room. Dining table seats 6. Kitchen has a dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, a good selection of cookware and serving items, and many standard ingredients for cooking.

Master bedroom has a king bed and a twin daybed. The guest bedroom has a queen bed. Sleeping bags with liners and pillows are provided for the couches in the great room.

Washer and Dryer provided with laundry supplies. Towels and sheets are provided. Body washes and hair products provided.

Wood available for the wood stove and forced-air heating with summertime swap cooler that cools the entire house through the duct system.

Many board games are also provided for your enjoyment (stored in the hallway closet, above the washer and dryer).

Great location, eclectic decor, and the cabin was stocked with all kinds of cool vintage toys and VHS tapes. Check in & out were very easy and it was nice to have a little dishwasher.

Weekend stay

It was a wonderful cabin, it was cozy and family friendly. We even took walks around the neighborhood, such a nice place to stay.

Great for family.

The cabin was perfect for a ski weekend with kids. Easy location, toys for kids and tons of games and movies.

Great stay for a Dodge Ridge trip

This is our second time staying here and really like the location of the property and the house. It was a good distance from stores and Dodge Ridge. The host is also very responsive and friendly. Overall a great place for a family vacation.

Very nice ! Clean had everything a person needs! The only downside is a huge German Shepherd next door barking woke me up every morning and went crazy barking and jumping at the fence whenever we left or came home!! Scared me!

Great homebase

The cabin was in a good location and we had a great time, the kitchen was spacious and we were able to cook daily and the living room was big enough for us 5 to lounge. We liked the proximity to long barn for ice skating, leland snow park for tubing and pine crest lake for sledding. The living room was kind of dark and my toddlers ran into the coffee table a couple of times but they also run into the walls at home so you know.

Snow trip family getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this charming cabin! It was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed to feel comfortable and prepare meals during our trip. The cozy atmosphere made it the perfect retreat, and the kids absolutely loved the hidden attic full of toys—it was such a fun and unexpected bonus!The cabin is ideally located close to snow activities which we did a lot of. After hours of snow play, we always looked forward to returning to the warm, inviting cabin to relax and unwind. There are a ton of board games and also a great movie Collection! Loved the old VHS tapes! The host was extremely communicative, accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions we had. The driveway is steep, but it wasn’t an issue for us with our SUV. Overall, this cabin exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and convenient mountain getaway.

No chance

Pictures were taken of only the top of the property (from bottom of concrete/cement steps up, no pictures showing steep driveway, steep dirt path to the bottom of steps or decks). There is a steep hill on BOTH the right side below the bottom of the cement steps and at the driveway (garage not included in rental). Neither was included in pictorial on site prior to reservations. We could NOT climb hill or get up driveway. Could not enter, park, or carry our personal items into property. We did not stay as planned and were very disappointed. Notified the owner who was very polite and stated that she and NO ONE else had ever had a problem going up the hill. Our car must be extraordinarily low not to make it up the steep hill. Later, the owner refunded approximately 2/3 of our stay and we stated that it seemed fair. My only reason for writing this is to advise VRBO that it is at the very least not good policy to misrepresent a property for rent. I do hope that others do not fall into this trap.

Hi Penny - thanks for your explanation. We have added an additional picture to the profile that shows the driveway from further back, and added text to explain. We really haven't had anyone not able to make it up the driveway, even in snowy months. We were happy to refund that portion of your reservation once we heard back from you that you definitely were not going to stay there. We hope that you were able to find something that suited you better.

Great cabin

Grew up going to the Lair of the Bear so staying in Miwuk village brings back great memories. Had two teenagers and two adults so worked out great.

Lovely Mountain Getaway

We enjoyed our stay very much. We came out to visit our son who is nearby, our first mountain trip. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had and we felt right at home. We were quite comfortable and enjoyed the well stocked kitchen for making dinner each night. Peaceful little village and easy access to go explore.

Very Clean & Great Location

Cabin was very relaxing! Great location and cabin was very clean. Departing was very easy. Only issue is the driveway. Our rent car was not able to make it up the driveway, however another in our party that had a SUV had no problem. It is very steep.

Amazing place. Conveniently near everything. The house had everything we could possibly need.

Cabin getaway

Perfect getaway for us! 2 adults and 4 kids( Ages 6, 6, 9, and 9). The adults loved the deck and walk to Alicia's sugar shack for breakfast burritos and coffee and the kids loved the secret attic playroom. The church across the street had a great property the kids loved to play in. The street wasn't busy and felt safe. The neighbor had a sweet cat that would come and say hi - kids loved it! Lots of kitchen utensils, pots, [pans and extras. Would go again, felt very homey.

Excellent house for a family vacation

We had a great time at the cabin! My kids (ages 6 and 9) loved the toys, games, movies, and books! They also really loved the animal photos on the walls. It was so nice to not need to bring anything for entertainment. The location was ideal. It was an easy drive to Dodge Ridge for skiing. We also found numerous excellent places for sledding right off the side of the road. We went to Pinecrest lake for the first time and it was absolutely incredible - covered in snow and gorgeous. One day we drove down to Sonora and went on a beautiful hike at Dragoon Gulch. It's amazing that you can go in one direction and find snow and go in the other direction and have a sunny hike! Some of the other great things about the cabin - excellent heating system, comfy beds with plentiful blankets and pillows, dishwasher and laundry and sheets/towels included. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and prepare meals. The shower had The steep driveway did scrape the bottom of our car (Mazda 5, kind of a low car) the first time we drove up, but we discovered that if everyone but the driver got out then we could make it up and down with minimal scraping. If your car rides a bit higher you should have no trouble at all. This cabin has everything. You really just need to bring clothes and food and if you forget anything you can head to Twaine Hart market just 7 min away and it's got everything you might need. We enjoyed getting some local coffee and beer from the market. We truly had such a special family vacation at this cabin!

Well stocked place, great host!

Very responsive and friendly host. The place itself has everything you'll need and more. Great location in a quiet neighborhood. Kitchen is well stocked and the games and DVDs are fun during a snow day. Would definitely go back

Annual family trip

My family has always gone camping Labor Day weekend , but due to Covid19, a lot of the campgrounds were closed. We did not want to miss our tradition of spending time together and so we decided to rent a cabin instead. The cabin was nice and had a homey feel to it. My children like the instruction frames throughout the house. It took the guesswork out of what should and should not be done . My family had a great time .

Fun weekend getaway

Our 3-day weekend was wonderful. Cabin was clean, kitchen was user friendly and being surrounded by trees was the ultimate in peace and tranquillity. Valerie was a super warm and friendly host who replied to text messages promptly. She even suggested a cafe very close to her property which was a breeze to walk to. It was fabulous :) We hope to return again!

Great cozy house for our family of 5!

We had a great time staying here. Nice and cozy - checking in and out was very easy, which is key for us with 3 young boys. It was a quick 30 minute drive up to Dodge Ridge to ski. Also, the close location to Alicia's Sugar Shack was awesome. It is also a quick 10 minute to Twain Harte.
