Holiday in Deal

Thank you for a lovely stay in your cottage. Great location close to the beach and a short walk from shops & restaurants. Comfortable, clean and well equipped. Downstairs living area felt very spacious. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely, spacious cottage Great location. Querky, lots of love by owners.. Probably needs cooling in the bedroom , especially on the hot days.

Nice place

Cottage was in a really good place, a few steps to beach and shops close by. Has everything you need. The Cottage is a comfortable size and decor was good. The bad bits are the sofa was uncomfortable and single bed topper kept slipping. Courtyard is so small that it wasn't comfortable sitting out there. It looked clean on arrival but needs a good clean such as, under furniture, skirting boards and a few cobwebs in corners.

Cosy Cottage near the sea.

We stayed in this lovely welcoming cottage for 6 days. It was delightful and felt so welcoming. So near the seafront and resturants. Would highly recommend.

Great customer service

The customer service was excellent right from booking and they were happy to accommodate a last minute request for one of their cocktail boxes. The cottage was lovely and in an excellent location in Deal, would definitely come back

Weekend Break

First time visit to Deal and Tell Tale Cottage was an excellent base to explore. Set in the old town everything was in walking distance & the cottage was very comfortable for the three of us and our cockapoo. Would recommend & would like to stay again.

Lovely weekend

We had a lovely weekend at Tell-Tale Cottage. The location is perfect - moments from the beach in one direction and the bustling High Street and Saturday market in the other. Two lovely pubs nearby and numerous restaurants to choose from. The cottage itself is cosy and welcoming and had everything we needed for the perfect weekend

Enjoyable stay in pretty and cosy cottage

Overall it was a very good experience. Would like to point out a couple of things: there is no large pan for cooking pasta for 3 adults - we managed with 2 pans! Also as the office is aware, there were issues with the outside bins not being emptied. The smell in the back yard was not great and I'm not sure I've ever seen so many maggots... however once reported (and reminded) it was sorted. I would recommend the property to dog owners but maybe not to those who don't (like ourselves!) as the downstairs did smell of dog a little and I was worried the dog bed under the double bed upstairs might cause me to wheeze - but it didn't. This is my fault as I should have picked a property which didn't take dogs.

Beautiful but very hot.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful and perfectly maintained in a great location. Unfortunately there were no fans and our arrival day was the hottest of our stay. The first night was unbearable. We rang Keepers Cottages the next day who contacted the owner who said that she was unable to obtain fans anywhere...we also couldn't find any in Deal either with the current hot temperatures. Surely with hotter climate, fans are something that should be standard and bought for the property during off season,.rather than when people start to complain during the summer. I therefore couldn't recommend this property during the summer.

Lovely stay

We had a lovely weekend stay at Tell Tale Cottage. Cottage is in the best location. Very handy just wandering up the road with my morning cuppa and watching the world go by by the beach. Weather wasn’t ideal one day but cottage was cosy enough to enjoy listening to the rain while reading our books. Deal, as always, a little pocket of joy. And we lucked out being there during the Deal Open Studios art weekend. We will be back. We did have a slight problem getting in to the cottage on our arrival night. The bottom lock just wouldn’t open. We were getting worried. It was late and we couldn’t get hold of the agent. However eventually the lock gave way. Lovely support from a neighbour too. I have spoken since to agent and they are now aware of this.

Excellent short stay

Greatly enjoyed this stay. The cottage is beautifully located for everything Deal has to offer. We didn't need much customer service but when we did it was essential and excellent: we arrived late on Day 1, around 9pm, and couldn't get in because the lower (bolt) lock on the front door resolutely refused to open. Two members of staff swiftly came out to help and resolved the issue; both were the soul of kindness and amenability despite the hour - thank you so much to both. The house is lovely inside and well equipped in every way. Only tiny point, more for information than an "issue": it floods with daylight from dawn so you may wake very early. (That may be just what you want, of course.) And this may be aimed at previous guests, but the cutlery and mugs could have been a fraction cleaner. And maybe it's time for some nicer flooring in the bathroom? These are very minor points though. All in all it was a very happy and relaxing stay and we have no hesitation in recommending it.

A charming and extremely practical cottage.

I've stayed in several Deal cottages but Tell-Tale is easily my favourite. Great location and old-world charm coupled with practicalities that make all the difference. Comfy bed, level floor downstairs, very accessible stairs, upstairs bathroom – these details are so important if, like me, you are elderly. Would definitely come again.
