Gorgeous lakefront log home on secluded cove with private beach and boat dock

This very contemporary log home is a lakefront property on 2.6 acres of woods with 1200 feet of shoreline. This cove is peaceful and quiet with breathtaking views of Lake Monticello, South Carolina's cleanest lake. The property's beach and large dock is very private - perfect for swimming, fishing, sunbathing, or relaxing and watching beautiful sunsets. Jet skis are not permitted on the lake but we provide paddleboards, kayaks, canoes & tubes for your useage. The pontoon boat is also available for rent. Dogs are welcome!

The house has a large wraparound deck with patio furniture and gas grill for dining or enjoying the outdoors and views. There is also a covered porch and screened porch on the back deck, with comfy furniture for napping, reading or relaxing. A fire pit/conversation area is out back close to the house, ready for s'mores making - and provided is a campfire popcorn popper! And a corn hole set is available for use.

The interior of the house is spacious and comfortable with the wonderful smell of cedar logs! The living room has plenty of seating with Direct TV and gas fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything imaginable including spices and a large fridge. The dining table seats 10 people plus barstools at the island. Washer and dryer are available for your convenience. Half bath downstairs.

There is a master bedroom downstairs with queen bed, walk-in closet and bath with shower and garden tub. New furniture, bedding and tv. It opens to private screened porch. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, each with 2 queen beds and tvs. Another full bath with shower, tub and 2 sinks. Also a double futon and loft area. All mattresses are new and very comfortable. Linens and plenty of towels are provided. Instant hot water heater for unlimited hot water. Full grounds security system to ensure privacy.

If you are looking to get away for peace and quiet and enjoy the beautiful natural setting of Lake Monticello, this log home is for you! Phenomenal fishing for many species and superior water quality. Several people ask if there are any alligators in this lake like others in the south but because Monticello is a reservoir and does not have a waterway feeding into it, there are absolutely NO GATORS!

Great property!

We had a great week at the lake! Very well equipped with everything we needed. Bill was great and kept in touch, making sure all was going well. The fish weren’t biting very much this week, but we had fun trying anyway!

Gorgeous lake home

Absolutely breathtaking and peaceful lake home. Beautifully decorated and fully equipped. The owner, Bill, was very accommodating and attentive to our questions. Great location for the log cabin experience. Highly recommended! We will be back soon!

Very pleasant stay! Highly recommended.

We had a wonderfully pleasant stay. We felt right at home. The kitchen had everything you need but forgot to pack. The house is in a very private location nestled between the woods and the shore. We enjoyed relaxing by the water and kayaked about exploring the various coves. Very responsive host.

Family weekend retreat

The cabin was beautiful! Bill communicated well before and during our stay, always offering to help. The attention to detail with every room decorated for the holidays had my grandkids in awe. We look forward to staying again in the future!

Sudden Peace!!

As you pull in the driveway - you can feel the stress leaving you. The house layout is excellent for families or couples. The kitchen is stocked as well as your home kitchen and very spacious for your family and friends to gather. We enjoyed the boat, we fish, swam, kayak, and sat on the dock. This a very peaceful lake and place. You have a huge amount of the lake to yourself which we loved. We took our 3 year old to the Columbia zoo that has a nice splash pad, aquarium, and garden. Newberry is a beautiful little town with antique shops and such. Bill was a great host and we will be back for sure. We fell in love with this property.

Lakefront paradise

Loved the house and the views were phenomenal If you are looking for a relaxing home like feel everything is very comfortable. We spent most of the time enjoying the lake but the owners spared no expense with the comfort of the beds. They were very comfortable and we slept like a baby. Clean and well kept property. the host, Bill, was awesome and gave advice where to fish and kayaks and paddle boards were available. Truly the best vacation spot.

Beautiful home on a peaceful lake

We rented this place with our friends from another state. The home is a beautiful wooden log home that’s on the water. We rented the pontoon boat and it made the trip amazing. The house has kayaks and paddle boards to use that the kids and adults enjoyed. Fishing was fun, we only caught some tiny fish but none the less we enjoyed every minute. Only negative is that the trash can was half full when we got there and we were staying a week so we had nowhere to fit the trash by the end of the trip (maybe the cleaning crew needed up). The house needs a nice deep clean too as there are a bit too many spider webs on the porch and a bit too much dust on the fans and random spots around the house. Otherwise we really had an amazing time and will be back someday. I would definitely recommend this place. Our group was 4 adults, 7 kids and 2 dogs and we all fit comfortably. Beautiful home, thank you!

Quiet and peaceful

Spent a lovely week on the lake. The home is very spacious! We had our pup with us and she enjoyed exploring the back yard and then relaxing on the gated deck. Home has everything you need. Bed on first floor was very comfortable. The location is remote and about 25-30 minutes to market and chain restaurants. We spent our time grilling and fishing with one day of golf at Newberry country club. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here!

The home is clean and well decorated. It feels like you are at home when you’re here and is hard to put into words. My family and I enjoyed our stay with comfortable beds, beautiful decor, plenty of inside and outdoor seating, bbq, fire pits, a dock with seating and pontoon boat! Bill was a great host and I couldn’t thank him enough. I will definitely be visiting again and please don’t hesitate to book or reach out….. you won’t be disappointed!

A hidden gem

The cabin was like a beautiful dream! We brought almost everything we needed, but the cabin had everything! Next time we will come Empty handed! Everything you need is in there . Super clean ! Bill was the best ! You definitely need to take a ride on the pontoon. We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful large log home with easy lake access

The house is very comfortable inside and out. A wonderful place to relax and unwind. After you are rested it’s time to hike, kayak, paddle board, take the pontoon boat out and fish. Something for everyone. A large kitchen makes meals a family affair. The master suite includes a large television and an attached outside porch which opens onto the back deck. We were two couples so the downstairs for one couple and the upstairs for us worked great for a more private feel when the evening came. The owner is a good communicator and really cares that your stay is pleasant and worry free. Feeding the outdoor wild kitties was great fun. You are lucky if you can catch a sighting from time to time. We brought our 2 dogs and the gated deck worked out super for them to enjoy a little freedom. The area is very interesting. We enjoyed our time here.

Great trip

Bill was an amazing host! Great communication before,during, and after the stay! We had a long weekend with our mostly adult children. Loved the house, the lake and even the opportunity to use the boat. We will be staying again here next year for sure.

Beautiful view!

It was amazing! And Bill was very responsive and helpful. The pictures don't do this place justice and I'll definitely be starting here again! The lake is very peaceful and the boat was an amazing addition. If you want peace and quiet this is the place for you!

quiet retreat on the lake with no mosquitos!

It is a quiet beautiful setting and lake. Not very much boat traffic, and a close public boat ramp. We rented the pontoon for my elderly parents in addition to bringing our own boat. There were no mosquitos—it was wonderful to sit outside and just enjoy the quiet. Quick easy communication with the host who answered all questions with no delay.
