Sobre esta propriedade
Cosy apartment & hottub in beautiful Aberdeenshire, convenient for shire & city.
The apartment is a tastefully appointed, completely self-contained, upstairs annex within our house set in beautiful and tranquil Aberdeenshire countryside.
The property is located on the lower slopes of the Corrennie Hills, foothills of the Grampian Mountains, but within half an hour's drive of Aberdeen city and airport. The house is of contemporary historical interest being the location used for filming the homecoming in the 1980s TV adaptation of Lewis Grassic Gibbon's third book (Grey Granite) of the triology - A Scot's Quair.
The house is set in two acres of grounds, which we manage for wildlife and invite guests to enjoy, including use of the attractive and peaceful summer house next to the large wildlife pond, with unrivalled views across to the Hill of Fare. Guests also have their own secluded patio and, new from September 2026, hot tub in the attractive private garden area next to their entrance,
The apartment is comfortably furnished and appointed to a high standard with an environmentally sustainable ethos, using upcycling and reuse to furnish and equip, and sustainably sourced linens and towels. Beautiful views from the windows add to the ambiance. The light and airy ensuite bedroom and the cosy sitting room open off the attractive open plan kitchen and dining area.
Set in beautiful and peaceful countryside, several walks start from the house through fields and woodland along local tracks and quiet lanes, which can be explored.
There is a wealth of history and stunning landscapes to explore from the property. Within a 20 minutes' drive is the magnificent Castle Fraser and the beautiful Craigievar Castle; Alford Motor Museum; four enigmatic, Bronze Age recumbent stone circles; several Forestry Commission forests with walking and mountain bike trails and the Bennachie range, which provides wonderful hillwalking and superlative views.
Slightly further afield are several enigmatic carved Pictish symbol stones; the wonderful gardens of Crathes Castle, Drum Castle and Leith Hall and the attractions of Aberdeen City, including the prestigious Aberdeen Art Gallery; dolphin watching at the harbour; the characterful, traffic free, old fishing village of Footdee (pronounced Fittie); the impressive Gordon Highlanders Museum and the beautiful St. Machar's Cathedral. Those venturing over to the coast can experience the atmospheric cliff top Dunnottar Castle and the nearby attractive harbour town of Stonehaven.
For those wanting to explore further, the magnificent panorama and mountain walking opportunities of Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms National Park await (45 minutes to Ballater), plus the delights of Speyside and its whisky distilleries.
Being the home of Wild History and Whisky Tours, we can also offer private guided tours of our beautiful region.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
We chose Dalherrick Farm because of its beautiful, peaceful countryside location with extensive views across the howe to the moorlands of the Hill of Fare. Its nearest neighbours are two fields away, giving complete privacy. We love the walks that start from the house, through fields and woodland along local tracks and quiet lanes.
There is so much to do nearby. Within 20 minutes drive of the property is the magnificent Castle Fraser and the beautiful Craigievar Castle; Alford Motor Museum (one of the best in the country); four enigmatic, Bronze Age recumbent stone circles (a monument type only found in the northeast of Scotland); Forestry Commission forests with walking and mountain bike trails; and the Bennachie range, with its tors and Iron Age hillfort, which provides wonderful hillwalking and superlative views.
Slightly further afield are several mysterious and enigmatic carved Pictish symbol stones; the wonderful gardens of Crathes and Drum Castles and Leith Hall, and the attractions of Aberdeen City. Here you can wander round the prestigious Aberdeen Art Gallery; go dolphin watching from harbour boat tours or with feet firmly on the ground from Battery Point; visit the attractive, traffic free, old fishing village of Footdee (Fittie); take a guided tour at the impressive Gordon Highlanders Museum or visit the beautiful St. Machar's Cathedral. Those venturing down the coast can experience the atmospheric cliff top Dunnottar Castle and the nearby attractive harbour town of Stonehaven.
For those wanting to explore further afield, the magnificent panorama and mountain walking opportunities of Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms National Park await (45 minutes to Ballater), plus the delights of Speyside and its whisky distilleries. The beautiful Aberdeenshire and Moray coast to the north is one of Scotland's best kept secrets, with its beautiful coastline and attractive fishing villages and harbours, including Pennan, where the movie Local Hero was shot.
