1 Block to the Beach- Lovely and Very Private

Wonderful private cottage and totally separate from the main house and one block to the ocean and The Strand! It is a beautiful open, airy great room design with cathedral ceilings and lots of light. Many beach properties do not have air conditioning because it is not needed this close to the beach but I have provided air conditioning. It is located in the bedroom but cools the whole house. The cottage boasts a large separate deck with room to have a barbecue and a patio table, as well, as room to sunbathe if you don't feel like walking the one block to the beach! The deck is totally private and only used by you and your guests. Many properties located this close to the beach do not have much outdoor space because of the size of the lots this close to the beach. The furnishings are exactly like pictures. It is a really wonderful place to stay.

There is private off-street parking designated for your car only. No moving your car to get out of the way of another car!

Beach equipment, boogie boards, beach chairs and towels are available at the cottage. Bikes, too!

Many things are within walking distance i.e. stores, all water sports, bicycle rentals, restaurants for dinner as well as a wonderful breakfast place called Martha's. The Strand is one block away. Perfect for walking, riding, running, rollerblading. It is a fabulous location and absolutely quiet.

Comedy and Magic Club is within walking distance where Jay Leno performs each Sunday night.

Beautiful and very convenient

This property is close to everything the beach, restaurants, and the strand. We walked our dogs every day and enjoyed coming back to a beautiful quiet and breezy space.

The host couldn’t accommodate anyone

I booked the property, heard nothing from the host for three days until I tried to obtain check-in details on the arrival date. I reached out and the host was “recovering” from something and told me I was responsible for canceling the reservation. It took a month to get my refundable deposit back from VRBO after a month of contact AFTER waiting a month for the refund to be processed. BOGUS! Happy Birthday indeed.

We loved Hermosa Beach and Jackie the host was very nice and tried to be helpful

There were problems with the house itself. The A/c was very loud and only in the bedroom. The gas range button would turn on if you opened the drawer. The microwave was old and weak. The living room furniture was old and very uncomfortable. The couch was actually a bed there were 18 steps to get into the house which we did I not know about. The barbecue was old and dangerous to light the bedroom TV had few needed stations. I hope this info helps the host remedy these issues

Perfect location!

A wonderful stay in a perfect spot, close to The Strand and Hermosa Beach. Very walkable. The host was always available and very helpful. The space is just as depicted. I would definitely recommend it.

We loved it!

Awesome place to stay !!

Great location, clean, well kept property with everything you need, comfortable bed, full size kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, bikes, beach chairs, beach towels, grill, deck, 1 block from the beach, everything you need within walking or biking distance. Several restaurants and bars within 6 blocks, along with the Hermosa Beach pier. The owner lives on the property and couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. We stayed in the apartment over the garage, but there is also a studio apartment for rent connected to the main house. We will rent the apt. again in a heartbeat the next time we go visit our daughter, so much better than a hotel. Thank You !!

Lovely place to stay

My husband and I stayed in the cottage and the studio during our 10 day visit to Hermosa from London to visit our daughter. Both places were lovely and had everything we needed,we especially enjoyed the lovely garden. The position could not have been better near a small store and Martha's for breakfast. We no doubt will be returning. Thanks Jacquelin for a great stay.

Couldnt have asked for more!

MY husband and I rented the cottage above the garage for 4 nights over the Easter long weekend. Everything was excellent! Great location- so close to the beach, great apartment extremely clean & comfortable, great use of the bikes which we used every day as we did not have a car. The location was everything we hoped for and we were able to do so much from eating out, to shopping, to exercising along the beach, etc. It is a very safe and quiet area and I would highly recommend this choice of accommodation. So much better than a hotel and much more value for the price. The only small issue we had was that the wooden shutters on the bedroom window dont provide a good blockout so some roller blinds on the windows would have helped with this. (It's only because we are light sleepers and need the darkness but is probably not an issue for most people). Would definitely book the accommodation in the future if we return for a visit again!

Great Location, exceptional stay

We split our stay between the one-bedroom apartment at this location and the studio, and they are both delightful. Couldn't have a better location for beach access, and having an off-street parking spot is important when you're that close to the beach. The apartment is well-equipped, with a full kitchen. There is also a lovely outdoor deck with sun lounges and an table with a sun umbrella. Much appreciated!

Beach Cottage

On our visit to Hermosa Beach we did stay 1 week at the beach cottage. We enjoy riding bikes on the strand and there were 4 bikes available. The location of the cottage was ideal . It was literally, a right turn off the property and a block to the strand. Marthas Grill was also, a block away where we did enjoy breakfast and lunch. Across the street from Martha's was an authentic Italian restaurant where we enjoyed a lovely dinner. The Green Store also, was in the same location. I have to say the bed was exceptionally comfortable. There is a patio that I enjoyed. The other plus was having a private parking area. Jackie was available for any questions.

A very nice place to stay!

I felt your place was definitely five star. It had everything that is important to me. Walk to beach was perfect....could hear the surf at night as I was relaxing in bed.... Great!!! The 'Green Store' is so handy. I did not have a car so happy to have it so close. My guests and I ate at the 'Hook and Plow' up the hill on Pier Avenue. Good food and interesting, need reservations. Thanks again, Jackie.

Amazing

Been visiting hermosa beach and staying with Jackie for three years ..we absolutely enjoy every year and moment and so do our furbabies!! The location and amenities couldn't be better. It's clean, comfortable and well appointed with all the necessities..: we love the location and the dog friendly environment! I would never stay anywhere else!! Washer/dryer and beach accessories are +++. Location to beach and market +++

Awesome

What a delight. This cozy cottage was exactly as it was described. It was convenient, walking distance to shops and quaint little restaurants. We love eating out side and did exactly that every night. We loved Martha's and other cute restaurants nestled along the strand. Having bikes available made it simple to ride from beach to beach. We enjoyed watching the whale migration and seeing the dolphin and seals too. We made day trips to tour L.A. and the Getty art museum is a must. So beautiful. I would highly recommend this home and will definitely come back again.

Christmas in California

Coming to California from Southern NH for a family Christmas was a great idea ! And staying one block from the beach was a bonus. This unit has a full kitchen ( if you really want to cook !) but walking to Martha's, Melba's and the Green Store makes it very easy to eat out with a very short walk. Stroll down the Strand and you have many choices for food and entertainment on the Hermosa Pier. It was nice enough to walk the beach. The unit itself is big enough for family entertaining. Comfortable bedroom and bath. The secluded deck, surrounded by lovely plants and flowers, was the perfect spot for a nap in the sun - in December !! This was a great choice for us.

perfection in a cottage

Location, Location and Location - plus wonderful amenities makes this a perfect get away! We came for a 3 night post holiday/anniversary trip - we uber-ed to/from airport and did NOT want a car (although there is parking available). Everything we wanted or needed was close by - great breakfast places (Martha's on 22nd and Good Food down near the pier) plus a tasty deli/convenience store Green something (?). We rode bikes to Venice Beach, laughed at Jay Leno at the Comedy Club (easy walk from cottage), attended a great yoga class and had wonderful massages - all in addition to watching sand volleyball and spectacular sunsets and sunrises mere steps from our place. All in all it really is superb! Also if you like Mexican - La Playita is a small "unassuming" in appearance restaurant but best fish taco's I've ever had!

Cute and tidy apartment

This little back cottage is only a block from the beach and has everything you would need for a short stay in Hermosa. The owner Jackie was lovely to deal with and allows dogs which is a huge plus! I recommend eating at Good Stuff which allows dogs in the front

Great Hermosa Getaway!

Jackie's apartment and Hermosa were a perfect setting for our visit with our daughter during her autumn college break! Close to the beach and "the Strand" boardwalk, and with all the amenities we saw in the listing, we were able to relax, use the bikes for some leisurely rides, and use the beach chairs and boogie board for a great beach day. A big plus was off-street parking, which in Hermosa is a must if you're renting there. Jackie was a great host and made our stay seamless -- we're looking forward to future visits!!!

Awesome Hermosa Beach Getaway!

Jackie's nice apartment was perfect for our California R&R during our trip to spend time with our daughter during her college autumn break. The apartment was as advertised and was very comfortable, clean and well equipped, with beach chairs, boogie board, bike's and other gear a big plus. We had many hours of relaxation on the nearby beach, riding on the Hermosa boardwalk, and in the cozy apartment. Jackie is a great host and we look forward to future trips!

Wonderful cottage very close to a beautiful beach

My wife and I spent a week at Jacki's cottage while visiting our daughter. Perfect spot with great accomodations including all the beach and biking needs. Highly recommend the cottage and the great beach town

This place is a Pearl!

Jackie's Cottage Guesthouse is absolutely our most desireable place to stay when we visit Hermosa Beach! The Cottage is immaculate and charming with its splendid airy great room and separate bedroom with a most comfortable bed. We loved the private deck and peaceful yard setting. And, having a parking space is premium! There is no better location, as our favorite breakfast spot is Marthas which is one block away, along with the little corner green market that offers great deli food. The fabulous ocean and beach are two blocks away! It is great that Jackie has beach towels, chairs, etc. and the bikes are great for riding down the Strand or touring Hermosa Beach. We especially loved being able to walk to the Hermosa Beach Pier and to our favorite restaurant on the Promenade, named The Mediterraneo. I would definitely recommend this charming, immaculate Cottage to anyone who loves to be close to the ocean and have wonderful conveniences nearby-all in a pleasing neighborhood setting. We loved our stay and look forward to more visits! Thank you so much Jackie!

Great visit that was enhanced by where we stayed.

My wife and I spent 2 weeks at Jackie's cottage. The location could not be better as the walk to the beach was less then 2 minutes. Jackie has everything you need for a beach vacation from sand chairs, beach towels, umbrella (if you need to protect yourself from the sun), to bikes for exploring. The cottage was clean and well equipped. We used the private deck and the full kitchen to prepare dinner one night for a party of six. Hermosa pier was a short walk which provided access to a number of restaurants for dining and entertainment. Manhattan beach was walkable and a short bike ride away. Check out the Comedy and Magic Club, Jay Leno performs there on most Sunday's. We will be returning to Hermosa and plan to stay with Jackie again.
