Farndish Manor - Spacious Georgian Manor House - Rural Retreat (sleeps 16+5)

Nestled in beautiful countryside on the border of Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire, Farndish Manor is the ideal location for family gatherings, get-togethers with friends or a relaxing retreat.

Boasting 7 large bedrooms with zip-and-link super king/twin beds, plus a smaller bunk bed room, it can comfortably accommodate 16 people, with an optional extra to host up to 5 more on fold-out beds for a small additional fee per person.

The elegant living space is large enough for everyone to relax and enjoy their time together.

THE SPACE:

Sat in an acre of mature gardens and orchards, Farndish Manor is situated at the edge of the picturesque village of Farndish. You will approach the house via a sweeping drive and enter through the rear of the property.

The ground floor boasts a well-equipped kitchen with a large electric range cooker (gas hob) and a beautiful, long table which can seat 16 (+ 4 to 5) on benches or chairs – perfect for a relaxed family gathering. If you are after something more formal, our extendable table in the dining room offers the perfect alternative, seating up to 12-14 comfortably. Our bar area is a fun addition for any budding mixologists and, with an elegant drawing room, large TVs in the downstairs snug and top-floor games room, and a beautiful garden with outside seating and fire pit, there is plenty of room for you all to spread out.

On the first floor, you will find 3 large bedrooms, all available as twin or super king beds, with plenty of floor space to accommodate a travel cot or 3 single fold-out beds, if required. There is also a smaller bunk-bed room that can comfortably accommodate two adults. You will find two bathrooms on this floor, both with showers and one with a roll-top bath.

The second floor offers 4 medium-sized bedrooms (one en-suite), all available as twin or super king beds. In addition to the en-suite bathroom, there is also a family bathroom with a shower and bath on this floor. You will also find the games room on this floor, which has a double sofa bed that can be set up as an optional extra, plus a dedicated workspace in case you need to work during your stay.

THE LOCATION:

Located in the heart of England within half an hour of both the M1 & A1 motorways and with good rail links, it would be hard to find a better location to meet up with friends and family from different parts of the country.

We also offer the perfect guest accommodation for weddings and events held at Saxby's Tap Room, Hinwick House, Hinwick Hall, Tofte Manor, Turvey House or Newton Park Farm.

If you are visiting England from overseas, we also make a great base to explore London, Cambridge and Oxford - all less than 1.5 hours away.

THINGS TO DO:

In Farndish itself, you will find Saxby's Cider across the road, offering cidery tours, their Tap Room bar (which is also available for hire if you want to organise a wedding or party) and a whole host of events, including PYO pumpkins, classic car meets, food fairs, comedy nights and much, much more - check out their events calendar online.

There are lots of lovely walks locally, including some to a pub, and miles of green lanes for mountain biking. For padel enthusiasts, there are two wonderful indoor courts at Podington Padel in the next-door village.

Other local attractions include Santa Pod Raceway, Silverstone, Castle Ashby Gardens, Althorp House, Woburn Safari Park, The Nevill Holt Festival and the hotly-anticipated Universal Studios theme park coming to Bedford.

We also work with a number of local suppliers to host activities for you at the house, including:

- private chefs offering anything from grazing boards and afternoon tea to formal dinners
- cocktail making and wine tasting
- culinary experiences such as chocolate making, pizza parties, open-fire cooking workshops and foraging walks
- murder mystery nights
- pamper sessions and yoga classes
- painting classes and flower workshops

Your hosts are locals and enjoy making suggestions of activities to suit your group so feel free to get in touch for any advice.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

- check in/out via a lockbox.

- with the exception of the bunk-bed room, all bedrooms can be configured as twin or super king beds. Please let us know at least a week in advance how you would like it laid out.

- the fee stated is for up to 16 adults or children. A travel cot is provided but you would need to bring your own bedding. A double sofa bed and three fold-out beds can be made up for an additional fee to sleep a maximum of 21 people – please contact us to discuss any additional bedding requests.

- please bear in mind, if choosing to go above 16 people, that the kitchen table can seat 16 comfortably on either benches or chairs but, to seat more, you would need to borrow the fold-out table from the Drawing Room (there are 20 dining chairs in the property, plus the kitchen benches). The table in the Dining Room can really only seat 12-14 comfortably, depending on how elaborate your place settings are. - the maximum guest limit is 21, no extra visitors for parties or events (please enquire for minor exceptions).

- for an additional cleaning fee, we can accept up to two well-behaved dogs (no puppies) but no other pets. We ask that dogs please stay downstairs, off the furniture and are not left on their own for prolonged periods of time.

- EV charging is not available at the property - please contact us for local charging points.

- there is parking on site for 8-10 cars, including the two garage spaces. Additional free parking is available on the road outside the property.

- we supply a limited amount of firewood for the wood burners (enough for one fire in each). Additional wood can be purchased - please contact us after booking to discuss.
