Offering traditional seaside fare, the village is home to a wide, sandy beach, an amusement park, and plenty of eateries to keep you fuelled in between swimming and sunbathing. From the village, you can board the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway, a traditional steam train that takes you through Kent’s Romney Marsh from Hythe (4 miles) to Dungeness (10.5 miles). At the end of the line, Dungeness is a fascinating place to visit, classified as Britain’s only desert and a special conservation area by the sea.
