Staying at Wellspring Cottage was memorable experience. Our hosts, Wendy and Kevin, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Wendy was an attentive and thoughtful host with incredible attention to detail. Flowers, a birthday sign, delicious homemade bread with honey butter, appetizers from Wenzelā€™s deli, a bottle of wine, bottled water, and a large selection of coffee and tea were waiting for us on our arrival. Luxury robes, slippers, bath bombs, shampoo, and soap were also provided. Wendy is a talented cook and breakfast was delicious. The slightly remote location in a wooded area ensures a peaceful and relaxing stay. There is also a beautiful, historic winery nearby in Brennan. We highly recommend staying at Wellspring Cottage.

This is more than just a nights stay. With the personal touches, golf cart adventures to take on the property trails, and participating in Wendyā€™s special (holy cow delicious!) breakfast, it was truly an unforgettable experience. My husband and I will return again. We greatly enjoyed no TVs or distractions, but in each otherā€™s company and the cute cottage. It is decorated very cute, the claw footed tub was luxurious, and the bed/pillows were so comfortable. Thank you, Wendy, for helping us have an unforgettable experience!

Relaxing Getaway

Perfection

Despite my scheduling SNAFU, Wendy and Kevin went above and beyond in their hospitality. I dont want to give too glowing of a review because it may never be available again. But, I can't in good conscience keep it to myself. If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Texas, you owe it to yourself to spend at least one night here.We loved it so much we extended our stay! Thank you, Wendy and Kevin! You are good people with a fantastic property!

Gravel locos brought us into Hico. Although this place was 20 miles away from my event, it was well worth the extra travel time. This place was perfect for a party of 2. It was super clean, and was stocked with all that we could need. The king size bed was very comfortable. Iā€™m hoping I can rebook for next yearā€™s event. Wendy was an exceptional host! Thank you!!

Relaxing Stay in Nature

We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed exploring the property. It was very quiet and peaceful. We went fishing at the pond and had a great time hiking. The ranch is beautiful and there is a lot to explore.

Beautiful little cottage tucked back in the hill country. Wendy has decorated it perfectly in a adorable cross between country cabin and old English cottage. The stars at night will take your breath away. Look no further!

Romantic Birthday

My husband and I had an amazing weekend. It was beautiful and relaxing. Wendy went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. With fresh flowers, yummy treats and even a birthday banner for my husband. This cabin has everything you need for a romantic getaway. We will definitely be back.

What an amazing stay this was. We had so much fun just enjoying each others company at this cabin. Went fishing and loved driving the golf cart definitely made it very convenient getting around. We will be back.

Simply amazing

If you need a place to get away from the loud city life, this little cottage is the perfect place. My husband and I got to recharge and enjoy some peace and quiet with each other. From exploring the grounds on the golf cart, to seeing the many different animals and stargazing next to a fire. It was the perfect getaway for us. Perfect anniversary get-away

Wellspring Cottage was the perfect place for us to relax and refresh as we celebrated our anniversary. Wendy's welcome of beautiful flowers, tasty treats, and bubbly was a lovely surprise. The cottage is extremely comfortable and cozy, with many decorative details that add to its atmosphere. What a blast to tool around the property on the golf cart! We also really enjoyed fishing and sunning on the dock at the pond. Terrific place in every way!

Away From It All

My husband and I had another incredible visit to Wellspring Cottage. Quiet, clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed. Wendy welcomed us upon arrival and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay, but it is all of the special touches that really make everything so wonderful. We were able to rest, relax, and recover from the hustle and bustle of life. Birdwatching while soaking in the clawfoot tub, exploring the wildflower filled fields, and wading through cool streams were all available to us and thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend Wellspring Cottage for anyone looking to get away with someone you love to just be together.

STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND BOOK NOW!

We have stayed in numerous VRBO's over the last several years, and I have to admit this is my very first time doing a review and it's because this one deserves it! Above and beyond doesn't justify the service and experience you will have with Wendy. She's very attentive, responds quickly, gives suggestions and ideas of things to do and places to eat while your there for your stay, and if you're lucky like me, you'll get to go home with some home-grown vegetables handpicked from her garden! This was perfect for our anniversary, but we will definitely be returning any time we need another peaceful weekend away. This was a little piece of Heaven on earth and I'm so happy we found it!

Originally I'm from New Zealand but I have now resided in Texas for 29 years. Married to Kevin and Mum to 4 grown children, we live on 240 acres of beautiful central Texas land that has been in the family since 1888.
I have been an RN for over 35yrs and have for the last 17 yrs worked locally as a School Nurse. I love to cook or be outside gardening and looking after the many animals on the property. Recently we have become Apiarists and currently have 10 working bee hives.

Por que o anfitriĆ£o escolheu essa propriedade

This land has been in my husbands family since 1888 and we built our forever home here in 2007. We were both raised on the land and love being outdoors and have a wonderful assortment of animals and pets.
Kevin is an avid potter and woodworker and enjoys creating and building.

O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?

Gourmet breakfasts or romantic baskets are an option, delivered to the cottage via picnic basket for an additional fee. Please contact host for further info if interested. Wellspring Cottage is located on a working ranch, and should guests be interested there is opportunity for interaction with the miniature goats and cows, while hosts are present. Access to the cottage is still under construction and parking may be off site at times, however there is a golf cart for guest use to transport luggage and get around the property.
There is a large one acre pond a short walk from the cottage that has a cookhouse and fire pit for picnics if so desired. There is also a two person kayak available for guest use, but no life jackets are supplied. Swimming and fishing from the dock is permitted, the tank is well stocked with bass, catfish, perch and some crappie, on a catch and release basis. Bring your own fishing poles or contact host if you need supplies.
