1/2 a Block to Balboa Park/Morley Field, this is a stunning interior remodel of a turn of the century Balboa Park Gem! This home is furnished with a combination of contemporary furniture mixed with antiques and high end touches. The interior aesthetics are pleasing and when you walk out your back door- you'll be happy lounging on your private deck above the lawn, where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening meal. (Grill is hooked up on deck and ready!) If you prefer to eat indoors, there is a large formal dining room with grand dining table.

Walk out the front door and stroll to Balboa park a block away or walk to the zoo-less than a mile through the park. You will have the best of the park's outdoor facilities at your fingertips including the Olympic sized Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts, Frisbee Golf, Archery, and Hiking Trails. There are great restaurants, cafes, pubs and breweries just a few blocks from the home. You are 10 minutes from the beaches and downtown and situated among multi million dollar homes! Perfect NP getaway

House was amazingly renovated and still had the charm of an old cottage. Super clean. Lovely neighbors and quiet neighborhood but still walkable to everything. Will stay again! (Brought my husband, 5-year-old and 1-year-old).

Clean, close to everything, great place!!

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much! Loved the high end appliances, the deck was wonderful to sit out on and there was a small, fenced in backyard for our two toddlers to play in! Beds were very comfortable as well! Did not realize that the 4th “bed” was the pull out couch vs an air mattress, but there was extra bedding sheets and a comforter that we used to make a bed for our toddlers upstairs, which was plenty spacious for the accommodation!

Perfect!

We loved our stay. Comfortably accommodated eight adults and we didn’t feel cramped. Loved the back patio, we practically lived out there except to sleep. Our host was amazing! Very responsive and attentive to our questions and requests. Cannot beat the location, this home was truly a blessing for our family. Thank you for making our experience a memorable one!

Excellent location and property

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at the property. 5-15 min driv to all major SD attractions and wonderful restaurants. The area is very quite and the beds were very comfortable. The house is brand new and it was immaculate. Well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed having one bedroom upstairs for more privacy. Travelled with 2 young children and 3 adults. The small but beautiful backyard and a patio were perfect for a morning coffee. Would stay at the house again with no reservations.

Perfect Location, Comfortable Lodging

Based on Google maps, I thought the home was closer to Balboa Park and within walking distance but I was mistaken; we used short Lyft rides to get to/from the Park. Still, I am SO happy we booked this house. It is a safe, quiet neighborhood within reasonable walking distance of a small grocery on Thorn St. as well as Target, shopping and dining in North Park (20 min. walk). Also terrific dining and lively nightlife about 5 minute walk away. House was comfortable and clean. Just a short Uber/Lyft ride away from airport, USS Midway, La Jolla, Mission Beach, whale watching, etc.

Lovely stay near Balboa Park and downtown San Diego

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The pictures shown represent this house quite accurately. It's a lovely renovated home with modern kitchen area, comfortable deck area, and tastefully decorated. It's in a residential area, but there was always parking right out front. It's close (10-15 minute walk) from restaurants and park area, or just minutes away if you drive.

Location, Location!

We were in SD for our daughters wedding. The house was beautiful! It was very spacious for 4 adults and a 14 month old! The neighborhood was quiet and you were downtown in less than 15 minutes. Walked a block to the park and saw the Big Boom fireworks on the 4th! Morning coffee on the deck watching the hummingbirds was a great way to start every day. We all had an awesome time! Would definitely book again. Thank you Gail for being such a great host! Be well. Linda & John

Cute and Clean Home

House was exactly as pictured. Home was clean and property manager was very easy to deal with. The location is great and neighborhood seemed very safe. Parking is on the street but we were always able to park right in front of the house.

Very pretty

Lovely home in a great neighborhood. Just a heads up: the stairs to the upstairs suite are pretty steep. If you have someone in your party with mobility or balance issues, just plan of having them sleep in one of the two main floor rooms.

Beautiful house, great quiet neighborhood

A cute victorian in a fantastic family-friendly neighborhood. Can easily go to the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park with a short drive. The house itself is cute, the kitchen and downstairs bathroom look especially nice, like from the pages of a Pottery Barn catalogue. While the place does not have parking, we found street parking in front of the house pretty much during the entire stay. The property manager was easily reachable via text, so the check in experience was really easy and it was also easy to contact him for any issues. Because the house is nice, they do have stricter policy around not moving furniture and stuff (you'll see that in the rental agreement). Totally get it, I would want my guests to treat the house with respect if I have a house like that! It wasn't a problem for us, since we had 6 adults and only 1 relatively well-behaved 5 year old. Just a note for families with younger kids you will probably want to be pretty on top of your children.

Exactly what we wanted!

We loved our stay at Gail's home in North Park! It was the perfect house that allowed us to feel at home and relaxed. Close to the fun downtown of North Park and in a great neighborhood to walk around. They were also super responsive when we got there and found one of the toilets to not be flushing properly. They sent someone out ASAP to have it fixed. All in all I'd rate this a 10/10 for us! Thank you!

I loved it here!

Our family of five stayed in San Diego for four nights at this property, and we really enjoyed our stay. One bedroom was upstairs and two are downstairs. The upstairs has its own air conditioner, in addition to the central air that is located downstairs. The kitchen is amazing - I wish I could have taken it home with me. There is an orange tree in the backyard, and the oranges were so good. The neighborhood is quiet and we took many walks around it. The property inside looks just the pictures, maybe even better. It's clean and everything looks brand new. I would stay here again for sure!

San Diego’s Balboa Park Area

This is a beautiful property within walking distance of Balboa Park and golf course. Large deck in the backyard with a gas grill. Perfect for a relaxing evening. Close to downtown (less than 10 minutes). Property owner and manager were great to work with...we will come back again. I highly recommend!
