Escape and unwind in this cozy 2-bedroom home, perfect for families, couples, or a relaxing retreat. The fully fenced front yard is ideal for kids and pets, featuring a BBQ, fire pit, and a private hot tub for soaking under the stars.
Inside, you’ll find comfortable sleeping arrangements with a brand-new queen bed, a daybed, and bunk beds—perfect for groups of all sizes. On rainy days, enjoy a wide selection of DVDs, board games, toys, books, and a smart TV for your entertainment.
The home runs on a well and septic system, adding to its rural charm. Our friendly chickens are currently growing and will be providing fresh eggs this spring!

The cottage was very cute and our host was great at communication. We also enjoyed the chickens and turkeys on the property. The hot tub was nice and warm, but we felt it maybe could have used the cleaning. Overall it is a great location and central to both Coombs and Parksville.

What a great property!! Privacy, relaxation, hot tub to relax at night when I got back from family visiting. Central to all the activities I was doing. There were chickens for eggs and quick responses to any questions. I even sat down to watch a movie one night which doesn’t happen often. A great little oasis close to many amenities and the local store that is right close by had the best gas prices of all my travels. Excellent place to stay.

Sweet little cabin

Great little spot for a stay. Nearby lots of hiking as well as amenities in town. Gardens were so great, chickens as well.

Great place!

We stayed here for 6 nights while attending a family gathering in Errington. The house and yard were immaculate being very clean. The chickens were enjoyable with fresh eggs most mornings. We would definitely stay here again.

Cozy little cottage

Was over all a cute little place to stay. My friends and I enjoyed the hot tub to relax in and also liked the propane fire pit. The host was very helpful in anything we needed and very friendly!

Felt like home

Me and my family spent a long weekend on the island for a memorial, and this wonderful cottage was our home for those days. We spent several nights just sitting under the stars, talking about life. It felt like we were kids again, in a warm and welcoming home in a small and friendly town. Highly recommend.

Sleeps 5 is a stretch, 2 adults and 3 children would be ok. We managed with 3 adults and 1 teenager, sofa not that comfortable.Not dirty, but cleaning behind furniture and in corners not good. Kitchen needs a dish drain tray.

Thank you for the reponse. I will check the corners of the room on my next turn over. My house as stated has a queen bed, bunk beds and a day bed couch, so it sleeps 5 fairly well. The dish tray is located above the fridge, my number is on the fridge to reach out anytime for anything. Feel free to book again at a discount rate. Thank you for staying.

Fantastic Stay at the Chicken Inn

We had an amazing three-night stay at the Chicken Inn over the Victoria Day weekend. My wife, our two dogs, and I thoroughly enjoyed this charming cottage on Vancouver Island. The location is perfect—secluded enough to feel like a true retreat, yet conveniently close to Parksville and just a 30-minute drive from Nanaimo. The fenced yard was fantastic for our dogs, who were participating in agility trials nearby. They loved the space to run and play safely. My wife adored the hot tub, which provided the perfect way to unwind after busy days. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we all had restful nights. The kitchen, though small, was very functional and well-equipped with a stove and fridge. We enjoyed cooking our meals and made good use of the BBQ and propane fire pit in the front yard, which added to the cozy, homey atmosphere. The host, Shantel, was wonderful and communicative, making sure we had everything we needed. She even offered us fresh chicken eggs for breakfast, which was a delightful touch since my wife loves chickens. The presence of chickens on the property added a unique and charming element to our stay. Overall, our experience at the Chicken Inn was exceptional. It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway, and we would love to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of Vancouver Island!

Sweet little spot on a hobby farm

A lovely stay in a clean and cozy home. All amenities were present, the queen bed very comfortable and we loved the friendly chickens that ate out of our hands.

This is an quaint little place The hot tub is nice to sit in during the evenings It is located by the green door in the picture and is relatively new to this property The host is very fast at responding to anything you need Also has a propane fire ring which was nice to sit outside with it on Very clean. A motion light would be nice as it was dark so early at this time of year
