Visit this charming waterfront cottage near Acadia National Park; enjoy the peace and tranquility of this gorgeous new home on the Shores of Branch Lake. The Branch Lake cottage has been tastefully decorated and will more than accommodate six people comfortably while offering all the modern conveniences of home. Enjoy the large wrap around deck with comfortable lounge chairs, dining table and gas grill. Spend your day swimming, fishing, canoeing or basking in the sun on the swim dock while taking in the fantastic views of this beautiful lake with mountain views. This location is convenient to Mount Desert Island, Ellsworth, the shores of Surry and Blue Hill Bay. Here you will find great hiking, biking, sightseeing and plenty of shopping. Also conveniently located to Bangor International Airport. The Branch Lake Cottage hosts an open floor plan with a cathedral ceiling with two sliders opening onto a large wraparound deck looking over pristine Branch Lake.


The kitchen is equipped with brand-new appliances, convection gas range, dishwasher, microwave and working/ sitting island. Adjacent there is a laundry room/ bathroom with a shower, which is accessible to a bedroom with a queen size bed. The master bedroom has a cathedral ceiling and is located in the front of the cottage with a beautiful view of the lake, This bedroom has a king size bed and master bath with shower and separate tub. The second floor bedroom has two twin beds and also a view of the lake. The walkin basement has a large room all knotty pine with a great view of the lake which has a pool table, 50 inch flat screen TV and large sectional with a queen size sleeeper and also a 3/4 bathroom. The livingroom and dining room an open floor plan open on to a 12 foot wide wrap around deck. All linens are furnished. Satellite TV, VCR and DVD are included. Come and enjoy this great home with this picturesque lake setting.

Maine lake house

We had a great vacation at the branch lake cottage. Everything was so clean and the house was well furnished. We enjoyed the fishing, swimming and kayaking on the lake. The house slept 6 adults comfortably and had plenty of space for us.

we had a wonderful time

This was our fifth VRBO rental house vacation over the past 4 years and it was the best. If anything, the pictures undervalue it. The invitation to use the boats, bikes, fishing gear, etc was a huge plus.

Great lakefront retreat

Great house, plenty of room, really well appointed!! Kitchen well stocked with utensils and cooking supplies. Plenty of towels for showering and lake activities. Lots of board games, card game, etc. The kayaks and canoe in good shape, lots of lake fun. Would definitely book again.

Beautiful lake, great house! 5 stars!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here- well stocked house, very comfortable and nice. Air conditioned. Great large deck for eating and just enjoying the day. Lake was clear and cool and the kids loved jumping off the dock and swimming out to the float out in the lake. They had kayaks and canoe which were nice to be in. Kids caught many fish from the dock! Close to town for shopping and sightseeing around Acadia as well. Owners were great. We will hopefully stay here again in the future.

Gorgeous lake house close to Acadia and Bar Harbor

My husband, two boys and I spent one week at this beautiful, clean lake house. It’s a short ride to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The house is completely stocked with everything you could possibly need. We had access to a small row boat and two kayaks. We enjoyed kayaking to a small beach just a few houses down where my boys enjoyed jumping off the rocks. The lake is very peaceful, perfect after a long morning of hiking or biking in Acadia. There is no AC but there is a ceiling fan in every room which helped. The basement is very cool if you need to escape the heat. We absolutely loved this property and hope to return next year. The owners are very sweet and helpful as well.

The perfect Maine getaway

This house is perfect. It has it all! Don’t hesitate to book this place. The lake is so quiet and gorgeous, the loons can be seen and heard everyday. My girls absolutely loved the kayaks, there’s one and two person kayaks. We swam and fished right off the dock and star gazed. We took the bikes over to the small beach past the end of the road where we jumped off the boulder over and over. It’s pretty close to Ellsworth. We did day trips to Acadia and castine and lighthouses and beaches. This house is perfectly situated on the central coast. They provide bikes, fishing gear, kayaks and paddles, life jackets, beach towels, there was even sunblock and bug spray. Also the kitchen was stocked with things like oil, salt, even pancake mix and syrup from previous guests. The backyard is all boulders and spruce and hemlock, it was like a magic fairy garden! Morning coffee on the deck with the loons sounding was heavenly. Come here and live like the other set for a week!

Fantastic Cozy Cottage!

This was my family's first time renting a lake house, and our first trip to Maine. It did not disappoint! This home was equipped with everything you might need or want....from beach towels, beach chairs, kayaks, fishing gear, life vests, and more. Our family loved fishing off the dock, swimming off the dock, playing pool, making s'mores at the fire pit, and taking the kayaks out for a spin. Additionally, the house was so clean! Marty and John were easy to reach if we had any questions. Don't hesitate to book this house for your next family vacation!

Best Vacation Ever!

Our family has rented in many places, and this one surpassed them all. The location of Marty and John's home cannot be beat. Branch Lake is absolutely beautiful, Ellsworth is charming and had so much to offer, and the proximity to Acadia was excellent. We felt like we had two vacations in one- hikes in Acadia, then days to enjoy the peaceful setting at the house. We'd book this house again with absolutely no reservations!

Relaxing Lakefront Getaway

We had a great family vacation here! This cabin was very clean and lovely. Our family enjoyed fishing and kayaking during our stay. (The only thing we wish we had during our stay was wifi access.) But we would definitely stay here again! It was a wonderful week!

We had a wonderful week visiting Maine. The property was exactly as described, very clean, inviting and spacious. We enjoyed exploring Acadia and viewing sun rises and night skies over the lake. All in all a great time!

Lakeside retreat

We loved our vacation - Well kept house, very clean and comfortable. Clear lake with canoe and kayaks. Close to Acadia and lots of hidden gem restaurants in Ellsworth. I would definitely recommend.

Lake House

My stay at the lake house was amazing. While I feel we missed the peak season by a couple months, not being able to fully enjoy swimming in warmer weather (I went swimming on principle) and fishing, the benefit was the beautiful fall foliage and having the lake to ourselves. The outdoor fire pit was also great as we had a couple fires after kayaking on the lake. My kids and I utilized the kayaks and canoe provided by the owners and were the only people on the lake. The lake itself was beautiful and clean. The house had all the amenities from home, coupled with a large kitchen and game room in the basement. The house is approximately an hour from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbour. One day we went to Bar Harbour for shopping and a delicious lunch. Another morning we woke up at 3:30 am and drove to Acadia National Park to watch the sunrise (highly recommend) just make sure to make a reservation as others were turned away. Overall, a fantastic experience. If you are looking for a nice getaway on a lake house with postcard views, you will not be disappointed. The photos do not do this property justice.

Pristine and Perfect Home - A Fantastic Get-Away!!!

Everything about this place was stellar, and way above five star rating! I can be a neat freak and very picky, yet I would have eaten off the floors here. It was immaculate! The layout was fantastic with plenty of room for my family of 5 to be together, or get space. My teen kids LOVED the finished basement with the pool table and huge TV. We were so grateful for all the extras: extra blankets, extension cords, night lights, movies, puzzles, games, dry firewood in the fire pit, life vests, Netflix, etc., etc. There wasn't a single thing we needed that Marty hadn't already provided for. When she said, "Just pack your clothes. We'll provide the rest," she wasn't kidding! This house is perfectly situated on the lake - so peaceful with a stunning view from the back deck. Watching the moon rise over the water was a highlight for my whole family. We also loved all the kayaks and boats, bikes and helmets, how near it was to Acadia, and a bazillion things more. I cannot recommend this property enough. It felt miles away from all the chaos that's going on in the world right now. Thank you for an amazing vacation, Marty!!!

Home away from home

Our family felt so at home here on Branch Lake, it was hard leaving! The house is fully stocked, the WiFi worked great, and the lake is absolutely beautiful. We swam and used the kayaks provided. We took day excursions to Acadia and Bangor and explored the local hiking trails. And of course, ate a lot of lobster at the local eateries!

Perfect Getaway

Perfect stay at the lake

The house and property were excellent. The kitchen included every amenity we could imagine and the dock is perfect for swimming or kayaking. A wonderful place to stay with friends or family.

Stunning house, pristine lake!

You will not be disappointed! Beautiful home, with all the amenities! Grill, boat, kayaks, dock, lake float, every imaginable kitchen gadget! Wood was bundled on the grounds for use in the fire pit, and the owner even left his tackle out for use! Would book this again without hesitation!
