This delightful, detached bungalow in a gorgeous rural setting is ideal for couples, friends or families looking for a peaceful base from which to explore Dumfries and Galloway. Less than a mile from the small village of Laurieston on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. Across the road is the must-visit Red Kite Feeding Station, where the Kites are fed at 2pm. Castle Douglas, 6 miles away, is an 18th-century market town and the perfect destination for food, nature, and history lovers alike. Galloway Activity Centre, 12 miles away, located on the banks of Loch Ken, is an ideal family day out with opportunities for water sports and activities, including a climbing tower with a zipwire, laser tag, and archery. Alternatively, head to the coastline and walk or enjoy water sports at two breathtaking nearby beaches – Rockcliffe and The Dhoon Beach, both within 20 miles.

This is a welcoming property, elegantly decorated and furnished. The home is full of spacious, light and airy rooms, inviting you to find your favourite spot to unwind and enjoy time together. Enter the spacious hallway where you can leave coats and shoes, and to the right is a WC, followed by the door to the sociable, contemporary kitchen. Here you will find all the appliances you need to make meal preparation a breeze. There is a breakfast bar for informal meals and drinks, and a TV for entertainment. There is also a utility room which is home to the fridge/freezer and washing machine. Straight ahead as you enter the hallway is the gorgeous open-plan living/dining area, which features a large picture window overlooking the garden and open farmland, flooding the space with natural light. On cooler evenings, pop a log in the wood burner for a crackling, cosy ambience while you enjoy chatting or a movie night on the Smart TV. The dining area is ideal for enjoying celebratory meals or relaxed, unhurried dinners while reliving the day’s activities. A second sitting room allows guests to spread out, and here you can relax on the comfortable seating and read or watch the Smart TV. From the second sitting room, there is a connecting door to the sun porch, with views out to the garden, ideal for a lazy afternoon tea and a chat. When it’s time to rest, drift off to sleep in one of two spacious super-king-size bedrooms with ample storage. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, while the other has an en-suite wet room, plus a separate en-suite Jacuzzi bath.

Wander outside to relax on the outdoor furniture in the enclosed garden and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. There is private parking for three cars.
