1800s timber house by the river in Gästrikland

You’ll wake up to birdsong in a 19th-century log cabin, surrounded by forests and nature in Gästrikland. Here, you can experience the simple country life with hiking, biking, and skiing year-round. A forest trail leads down to the river, where you can take a morning dip from the dock or simply enjoy the tranquility.



The large kitchen is the heart of the house, with plenty of room for everyone. Here, wood-burning stoves provide warmth and ambiance, both in the kitchen and the living room. The house has one bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The guest house offers additional sleeping accommodations and a sauna (not heated during the winter).



On the property, you’re welcome to borrow SUPs, kayaks, and bicycles for excursions. A forest trail leads down to the river, where the dock awaits. There are no distractions here—no TV or internet—just the chance to spend time together, read, and be fully present.



Kungsberget is 10 minutes away, offering downhill skiing in the winter and downhill biking in the summer. Högbo Bruk (20 minutes away) features hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, restaurants, and artisan shops. In the nearby village of Järbo, you’ll find an ICA supermarket, a flea market, and a café with a courtyard.
