This was a comfortable, clean and spacious country home with lots of inviting common areas for dining and lounging. We enjoyed using the grill for bbq. The lake and dock were a lovely place to swim, kayak, and relax, and well equipped with sturdy kayaks and lots of seating. There is also a nice little public beach a few minutes' drive away. We were within a half hour's drive to many of the Berkshires' wonderful attractions. The host responded promptly when we contacted her with questions, and addressed one maintenance issue promptly. The house lacked a complete, printed guidebook with detailed instructions - instead, we got a few emails, and there were a few postings in the house, but we often had to figure things out or reach out for guidance. For visitors who are not in peak physical condition, note that the walk to the lake could be a bit challenging. To access the kayaks, you must stretch or jump over from one dock to another, and then lift them down off a rack. Also, the bathtubs are quite high and a challenge to get into and out of. All in all, we had a comfortable, relaxing time on beautiful Lake Garfield.
