Getaway in this relaxed and cozy setting off the beaten path. Set on almost 40 acres of pasture and wooded area this property offers endless hours of family memories. Relax in the country sheek renovated house. 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and twin bunk beds will keep you plenty rested for the activities of the weekend. The house has all the necessities of home, coffee pot, dishes, silverware, washer and dryer, towels etc.

When enjoying the outdoors, try your hand at fishing in the pond, take a hike on the trails and see what nature has to offer. Play outdoor games with the family, relax by the fire pit or on the new dock.

Family visit and vacation.

Wonderful stay! The kids had a blast running the trails, fishing, and playing games. We can't say enough good things about our stay. We grilled our last day and realized how amazing the grill is and were sad we weren't grilling the entire time.

This place is beyond fantastic! Beautiful home and quiet country living. I cannot say enough about this place! We went fishing on the private pond and just enjoyed the wonderful setting. The owners were just as great, bringing us farm fresh eggs and homemade jam. It was a perfect experience! We will be back ā¤ļø

If you love the country...

If you love the country and want to spend ample outdoor time this place is PERFECT. If you love rural America and appreciate the simple life, look no further. My kids are city thru and thru so this was quite a different experience for them. They loved fishing, paddleboarding, fire fly catching. They never get to do this so they will cherish these memories forever. The home has everything you need but is a little rough and ready. The title of the home is "Campground House" so it fits. I am also city thru and thru so some of the features/decorations were a little interesting. We also REALLY needed internet when we first got there and it was out, no shade on the owners...it was a provider issue. I was just hoping for better communication about it. Oh well. Happy to have experienced it and thankful for the quiet.

Family fun farmhouse

This house is tucked away from the city, but there are lots of games, movies and fire pit/outdoor patio to stay busy! We lucked out and happened to be there while the owners set up their Christmas light display that opens next week. Decor was antiques and hunting/fishing which fit the location perfectly! It was located about 10 minutes from Carlinville where our family celebrated Thanksgiving! It was the perfect place for our family during our holiday stay!

Best getaway spot ever

The owners were super nice we had a very nice chat with them. the house and grounds were wonderful and very quiet. The only way our stay would have been better was if it wouldn't have rained a couple of days. Would stay there again in a heart beat.

Amazing find for a getaway

This place has such a beautiful property, with so much secluded room its crazy. The kids could run around and do, with no worry from me. We enjoyed fishing and the trails as well as art projects and softball we brought with us. They played on the swingset right by a wildflower patch. There were always butterflies there and on the butterfly bush closer to the water. The house was comfortable, with lots of (new!) windows. The hosts were very quick to respond online before our trip, and came to welcome us, with fresh eggs and homemade jam. We loved our time and definitely plan to go back!

Wonderful spot for a relaxing getaway

I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen. There was plenty of room for the kids to play outside, and we had great luck fishing! The owners were friendly and easy to deal with. I highly recommend this property, and I will definitely book another stay here in the future.

Relaxing change of season retreat

Everyone had fun and the forest trail is very nice. The pond was used to its fullest... well, we had fun with the paddle boar and kayak. :) The firepit was fun, nice evening lighting on walkways, and great s'mores making and hangout space. They had an extra hdmi cable connected to wall mounted TV that we used for our blu-ray player and evening movie marathons. :) Good times!

Country setting

The owners were easy to work with and the house was spotless upon check in. The setting of the property was fabulous. The fishing pond saw a lot of activity from my family, the multiple areas to sit and relax were plentiful. Loved getting back to a rural setting - brought back a lot of childhood memories. Will definitely stay here again and possibly hold a family reunion - it is that type of venue!

We had the BEST time!!

Danita was so lovely and the property is amazing! We will certainly be returning and bringing friends, what a wonderful place! The hikes in the property were very nice (don't go if you don't like spiders!!!). The pond is lovely and well stocked with fish. Our kids caught toads, frogs and bugs and enjoyed every minute of our time there!

AMAZING!

This was by far the most relaxing trip Iā€™ve ever taken with my 3 kids in tow. After we decided to cancel our trip to Tennessee due to Covid concerns, we found this little pot of gold! 100% private, no sounds from anywhere except nature. Everything is taken care of for you and thereā€™s nothing you could possibly need to bring with you to enjoy your stay. (Except food of course). We are already checking the calendar to see if we can make it back in the fall to spend time out by the fire pit! So beautiful and the owners are so friendly!!

Home away from home!!

This property was beautiful!! We had such a wonderful time relaxing and spending time with the kids. Plenty to do for the entire family and the home is so cozy and clean. The property itself was awesome lots of hiking , fishing and plenty of space for some R&R, our kids are already asking when we are returning. This property is amazing. We will come again and again!

I call this property my small piece of heaven. It has everything! Fishing, hiking, paddle boating, grilling, sitting by the fire, gazing at the stars. I could go on and on. Tranquility on the lake

This was are 3rd trip to the Lake House. Everything you need was laid out for your convenience. It is just a short walk from the house down to the lake. There was a nice fire pit and dry wood available. Even hot dog roasting sticks and lawn chairs. We will be back for some peaceful outdoor relaxing again soon.

Quiet, cozy camp house!

This property is beautiful with lots of attention to detail. Itā€™s private and secluded but close to anything you would need. We loved the trails and waking up looking at the lake. Owners are amazing and super friendly. It was perfect for my family to visit my home town and be able to host company while staying there.
