Come experience peace, serenity and romance creek side --> Owner welcomes you to Bear Creek Cabin and invites you to relax and connect with nature and your significant other! "The Bear" is nestled on a wooded hillside in the Blue Ridge Mountains region overlooking the beautiful rushing waters of Little Reed Island Creek, near Fancy Gap, VA. Quaint and cozy, this 1 bedroom / 1 bath full log cabin is perfect for that romantic weekend getaway, or a week of fun-filled outdoor activities. The "Bear" accommodates up to 4 guests and features a bedroom w/ queen size log bed, and a sleeper sofa in the vaulted main room. The 2 person indoor Jacuzzi spa/tub with gas fireplace view is perfect for that intimate, relaxing bath experience - a 'Beary' nice way for a 'couple a cubs' to spend the evening, or for a lady to decompress. The separate bath boasts a full oversized shower with seat. A fully appointed kitchen and breakfast nook serves all your meal preparation and dining needs.
Outside, the full length covered porch seating area provides amazing views of the creek, complimented by the soothing sounds of nature and rapids below. There's a bistro table set for enjoying that perfect cup of morning Joe or romantic dinner. Or enjoy your private wooded lower deck perched nearer the creek's edge.
The lower level private game room is furnished with a pool/ping pong table, darts, card table, board games, and additional sofa bed seating for loads of fun. A full washer and dryer also complete the space. A charcoal style BBQ grill enhances the outdoor fun on the upper level (located in front of the cabin - charcoal by Renter).
The shared outdoor fire ring is the ideal spot for enjoying those evenings filled with toasting S'mores or glasses of wine together. Our creek side gazebo with swing, and private wooden deck sitting area, afford peaceful rest or reading pleasure while fully immersed in natural woods.
There is plenty to see, do and explore in the region. Hiking in nearby Devils Den, Pilot Mountain or any of a number of state parks close by. Fishing on the New River. Visit the real "Mayberry", Mount Airy, NC for shopping, restaurants and antiques. Or take in the music at nearby Floyd, VA or Galax, VA's (Old Fiddler's convention). Many festivals year round in the area, as well as the Hillsville Annual Flea Market!
The fun starts in the woods, where technology and stress end - take refuge and soak in serenity for your mind, soul and body rejuvenation.

The "Bear" shares this private creek-side retreat property with it's twin cabin, the "Buck". Both cabins can be rented simultaneously for a great friends or family getaway.

NO PETS are allowed on property at any time - strictly prohibited. No smoking permitted inside cabin or in common outdoor areas where other guests are present.

There is NO Internet, WiFi or cable TV service - this is a digital detox zone! -->this property is for those who want to escape, experience nature and simple cabin life. Cellphone coverage is likely on property as most major carriers have coverage.
Unfortunately, due to significant phishing emails and security concerns, inquiries will not be responded to by Owner.

Fishing: The Creek on property is shallow; not ideal for fishing; but region does afford incredible fishing nearby. Google Galax, VA; Foster Falls; New River State Park, etc. if interested. Check w/local and state authorities for permits, license reqts. etc.
Hiking: Google Devil's Den Nature Trail; New River State Park, Pilot Mountain SP and Hanging Rock SP.
Wineries: Dozens of nice options in the region - Shelton Vineyards, Chateau Morrisette, JOLO, Serre, Round Peak....and many more. Take a drive...sample some grapes!

NOTE: ALL RESERVATION dates, once booked, ARE FINAL and will not be altered - zero exceptions. Additionally - any cancellations and/or potential refunds are per property policy. Guests are encouraged to obtain travel insurance for contingencies or unforseen circumstances.
The property utilizes a gravel access road with incline/decline. This is not Prius country, especially in winter or heavy rain events. Suitable vehicle, 4WD preferably is advisable. Pulling of trailers (cargo, or motorcycle, etc) is not recommended.
