Historic condo located in the Arts / Warehouse District of New Orleans with large balcony. The perfect location for St. Charles Ave. / Uptown Route parades during Carnival Season. A quick walk to Superdome, Smoothie King Center Arena or Convention Center for our beloved Saints football, NBA Pelican Basketball team and so many concerts and events, as well as conventions, trade shows and expos.
The Space: Discover the allure of this exquisite 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condominium, boasting a captivating blend of historic charm and modern comforts. Nestled in the heart of New Orleans, this residence features an open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen, adorned with original brick walls that exude the city's distinctive character. The balcony offers a picturesque view, creating a perfect setting for relaxation.

Guest Access: VacayNOLA has self Check In services. Our normal arrival time is after 3 PM CT and check out is before 11:00 AM CT.
Please plan your flights accordingly, as we cannot always allow for early check ins or late check outs. IF, we can allow for an Early Check In / Late Check Out, there are fees associated with this request to change the housekeeping schedules and door code times.
The Neighborhood: Arts & Warehouse District - Arts District, an eclectic area of Art Galleries along Julia St and surroundings street. The building sits at the corner of Julia and St. Charles Ave, where we have so many restaurants, coffee shops, bar and grills, within a 4 block walk. The must visit World War II Museum is a mere 3 blocks away. A majority of the original warehouses that stored all the goods and merchandise off loaded from the Port of New Orleans Steamships have now been developed into residential housing.
Getting Around: Walking is the best way to get around in the downtown New Orleans and when you get tired, rideshare (Uber/Lift/KrewCar) and taxi's are generally readily available. Or hop on one of our famous streetcars to see two major routes throughout the City. The St. Charles Ave. streetcars are Green and head away from downtown on St. Charles Ave. The Garden District, where you will see the beautifully maintained mansions, passing Loyola and Tulane Universities, Audubon Park, and the Audubon Zoo. Red Streetcars travel along Canal Blvd. from the Mississippi River out to City Park. The streetcars are cash only, unless you buy a pass.
The Hop on Hop off tour busses circulate around some of the more popular areas of downtown and offer pickup every 30 minutes. The Algiers Ferry is a fun way to get across the river. It runs from Canal street to Algiers throughout the day. Algiers is a small neighborhood and very walkable. Enjoy a quick bite to eat then just enjoy walking through the historic houses.
Bicycle rentals are is also a great way to get around and can be rented from various locations throughout downtown. There are bike rental options like Blue Bike with multiple locations throughout the city and also tour companies that have guided bike tours.
Other Things to Note: This condo has no parking included. There are various public parking garages, lots and street parking available for a fee.
Non smoking property. Evidence of smoking will incur a fine. No pets, parties, or large gathering events allowed. Only registered guests are allowed on the property.

Thank you Melissa for the 10 out of 10 rating for "Bridgette", in the 1828 built "Thirteen Sisters of Julia", side row houses.
Fantastic to have all those modern conveniences of stainless appliances, granite counter tops, and an elevator, mixed in with all those original features of the building, like the original ( non-working ) brick fireplace with iron front and marble mantle, original weight and pulley wood framed windows with antique glass.
It is a hidden gem in the Arts & Warehouse District of downtown New Orleans. So many attractions and adventures are a walk away, and more of the restaurants where the locals eat are up Julia, towards the River, even The Little Easy, is a neighborhood bar & grill for quick meals or nightcaps, with only an elevator ride upstairs to get back to the condo.
Having an iconic New Orleans balcony to enjoy coffee in the mornings, or sip cocktails in the evening while feeling those nighttime breezes or people watching can be very relaxing after a day out on the town.

This was an incredible experience. Communication prior to check-in was excellent and the host was so accommodating. The condo is clean and well-maintained. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The property is in a great location--you can easily walk to the French Quarter and then it is nice to return to a beautiful, more quiet area at the end of the day. I loved sitting on the balcony with a coffee or a glass of wine. I will definitely stay here again when I return to New Orleans.

A full service grocery store is 3 blocks away, perfect to grab a few snacks, or beverages to enjoy out on the balcony as you people watch or wave to the folks riding the St. Charles Ave. Green Streetcars as they roll on by.

Absolutely a fantastic place to stay for all things NOLA, especially access to the French Quarter, the Garden District via the street car, the WWII Museum, and the riverfront. Great place to chill at the end of a day sightseeing. We dined out for lunch each day and ate in at night. Rouse’s Market nearby made that possible. We didn’t have a car—we took Amtrak and walked to the Brigette and then everywhere else all week. So much fun. The VRBO was clean and stocked just as it said in the description. Communicating with Barbara was easy—she is very responsive. We would love to return.

Thanks Amanda for short yet concise words. The food, yes, there are several awesome eateries, from 5* to hole in the wall places and we walk to them for breakfast, lunch or dinner, even the Rouses Market to pick up groceries when we stay in to eat. Everything is so close. Now that concerts are coming back to Smoothie King Arena, this is the perfect location to stay for concert weekends.

Thank you Stacey for the 5 Star Review. We enjoyed hosting you. We cannot express what a perfect location The Julia is. Eight blocks to the French Quarter, may seem like a long walk, but at night, it is far enough away that you don't have all of that chaos out of your windows, same 8 blocks to the Morial Convention Center or Smoothie King Center Arena and the Superdome.
And the restaurants, don't even get me started on how many there are within 2 blocks that you can walk to!
Thanks for the mention of how hard our Housekeeping Staff work to clean the condos. They take great pride in making sure you feel comfortable and at home when you get here and have those few little extras, like the cold bottled waters and Gatorade's in the fridge, because they know how hot it is here and it is best to get hydrated as soon as you get in, after traveling.

Everything was exactly as listed. We went during Halloween and got to experience the festivities from out balcony. We’re able to walk to all of the attractions. Cute bar right outside with great food. Our host was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She helped with all of my questions and responded quickly. This place is a must if visiting NOLA!!!

We cannot express enough what a great location The Julia is to all the attractions in downtown New Orleans, that is away from the 24/7 chaos of the French Quarter. We love The Little Easy, the bar & grill on the street level of the building, a quick place for a bite and beverage, or two, with no worries about staying late and having maybe more than a couple, when getting back to the condo, which is right upstairs. Joe & Blerta, owners of The Little Easy, are happy to make new friends, at this neighborhood bar & grill.

A great place to get away to
What a great place. Out of all the places we have stayed this is one of our favorite. Nice balcony to sit on and watch the world go by. Walking distance from almost everything we care about. We will be staying here again.

Thank you Timothy for the 5 Star Review of the Julia, one of the original "Thirteen Sisters of Julia Row". It's not nice to say a woman is older that you think, but in this case, these 'side row' townhouses were built in the 1830's, so give the 'ol girl the credit of another 40 years to still be standing and well built ( although, she did have some major cosmetic and reconstruction work done in 2012). We kept as much of the original workmanship as in the original fireplaces( now, non-working) and mantles, the staircase at the entry and even the couple of stairs in the condo itself, along with all the original exposed brick throughout the condo and entire building. The best part is, it's good to have all those modern conveniences of indoor plumbing, electricity, internet, Roku ready TV's and granite countertops with modern stainless appliances. This was a very exclusive address back in the day!
We love this location and the proximity to al the things you mentioned. Many don't realize that some of the best dining is only blocks away, and not all in the French Quarter. Which is another great asset, far enough away from the constant chaos of Bourbon Street, but still a 15 minute walk to get to it.

Great place to stay
We love this building in the Warehouse district in New Orleans. Easy to walk to great restaurants, the river walk, Rouse's grocery and a little longer but still easy walk to the quarter. Spacious bedrooms and living space. Nice kitchen and also has a balcony!! Would definetly stay here again.

Yes, it is a little bit of a walk to the French Quarter, but there are so many other things that are closer to you in this neighborhood. This is a very walkable area to many of the attractions of New Orleans, if your main reason to visit isn't spending all of your time in the Vieux Carre.
Isn't that balcony great? A nice place for morning coffee or evening beverages. Just a plus to people watch and wave at the passing streetcars as they roll by along St. Charles Ave.

Great location! Historic so walls and windows are a little thin if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. The whole place seems to be vacation rentals. The bar downstairs has sandwiches that our teen liked. Would definitely stay there again

This is quite the historic building, built in the 1830's and so walkable to many of the attractions, art galleries and restaurants. This building has a total of 20 condos, but only 5 are vacation rentals, so it is a very popular location for tourist and residents alike.

I had several questions leading up to our stay. They were always answered so quickly and accurately! The place was exactly as described. Loved sitting on the balcony having coffee or drinks and enjoying all the activities going on around us.

Thank you Lisa for the 5 Star Review. So many guests come to New Orleans and only thing of Bourbon Street. As you noticed it is not that far away, but then, it is a lot quieter at The Julia, not in the middle of all that 24 hour chaos. Sounds like Barbara followed up with you on all your questions, which she loves to have this interaction with all the guests, preparing them for all New Orleans has to offer.
If you had a relaxing time on the balcony for the LSU vs FSU football game, you should come back for a Saints DOME game weekend, or better yet, Mardi Gras! You can still watch the parades roll along St. Charles Ave., and be above all the crowds, people watching and sipping on your own beverages for a weekend of excitement and entertainment, no doubt!

Sugar Bowl experience
We attended the Sugar Bowl. Very nice apartment. Great location, walking distance to the stadium, great restaurants, WWII museum. Apartment is well stocked and very comfortable. Great TV's in every room!

Thank you Lee for your time to let us know you gave "The Julia" a 5* review. If you read the historic places sign out front, this 600 block of Julia Street was a very exclusive address in the 1830's when the building was built. It has that classic New Orleans exposed brick, original (but non-working) fireplace and beautiful hand carved mantel, original floor to ceiling windows, which allow for balcony access to watch the people and traffic, and the streetcars along St. Charles.
I know there were no streetcars running during your stay dates, they were still working on the rails and overhead lines, some from Hurricane Ida damages and others, like the rails replacing the surrounding asphalt over to concrete, but at least is wasn't as noisy over night when the street cars roll by.
This location is great if you are not all about Bourbon Street. It's still an 8 block walk, but that is nothing as you can still sightsee all these old buildings and the skyscrapers of the modern world. Kind of like how we decorated this condo; original building features mixed in with stainless appliances, granite counter tops atop solid wood cabinetry, yet stayed true with marble in the bathrooms. Just like home, there are TV's in each bedroom and in the living room.

The unit was spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed having a balcony. Very good restaurants nearby and a 12 minute walk to the French Quarter. Quiet neighborhood. Great proximity to museums and art galleries. And we highly recommend this unit for rental.

Long weekend for Jazz Fest
Everything about our Julia Street rental made our stay and enjoyment of Jazz Fest so very memorable. The Condo was fresh and inviting, clean and comfortable. Good beds and baths, kitchen and technology quite functional. Good restaurants nearby, easy walk to the Sheraton to get the bus. The location is safe and interesting. And the communication and assistance with the Staff of VacayNOLA tops any chart for excellence.

Thank you Timothy and friends for the 5 Star Review of #202 at The Julia condos. This hidden gem in the Arts & Warehouse District of New Orleans is not only historic, but is still so close to all that downtown New Orleans has to offer a visitor. Walkable to so many restaurants where the locals' eat and not all touristy driven on the pricing, Gallery Row is right here on Julia Street, WWII Museum is 3 blocks away, French Quarter is 8 blocks, so close to get to, but far enough away that you are not part of that constant chaos.
We do have a wonderful staff at VacayNOLA and couldn't do without any of them. Thank you for the special mention of our housekeeping krewes, they truly are the backbone of keeping the condo clean and tidy.

The property was pretty nice.
Central location for all the visitor things we did.
Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is nice. Bathrooms large. Didn’t care for the roku tv system but we weren’t here for tv.
I would stay here again though if it was a little less expensive.

Thank you Randy for your time to write this review. Sounds like you really liked the property, location and the layout and size of all the rooms. This owner chose Roku streaming so it would give guests the option to sign in to their own streaming services using your own account and passwords, but, you are right, who comes to New Orleans to watch TV?!
The rates were a little higher based on supply and demand. You were here during the NCAA Men's Final Four Tournament and we were close to being sold out for almost a year, in addition to being Spring Break.
If you can stand the humidity and sweltering heat, the summer months are when our rates are at the lowest. Contact us to get the promo code, when you are ready to come back for another visit, we offer discounts for returning guest.

Thank you Bryan for your time of this 5* review. We appreciate that you had a great time, and your only issue was no on site parking. With the historic "Thirteen Sisters of Julia Row" building built in 1830 - 1835, there were no automobiles, so no need for garages or parking spaces. As this location is in the downtown area, everything was walkable, and still is. We do let everyone know that there is pay parking about half a block away from the punch coded main building entry door on Julia St. Hope to see you on a return visit. VacayNOLA Team

Great property as advertised. Not crazy about gaving to tske out the garbage. Hot water needs to be hotter!! Needs to be hot enough to create steam on the bathroom mirror.

Thank you Peter and friends for staying in "Brigette" during JazzFest. Sorry we didn't get all 5 Stars. It IS a great property in downtown New Orleans so walkable to many of the attractions, WWII Museum, Art Galleries, restaurants yet far enough away from the constant chaos of Bourbon Street.
We are sorry that taking out the trash was an issue, but we prefer to not have bugs and pest in the condos between the time you check out and when housekeeping can get in the condo for the departure clean.
Wish you would have called if you thought the water was not hot enough, we are on call 24/7/365 and have a maintenance staff that could have come up and looked at that for you, while you were here, or after your first instance. Keep in mind that these are not your private home, where you can have the water temps set at your preference and the water heaters are set to a minimum of 120* to prevent scalding. When you use the exhaust fan or heater fans in the bathrooms, this also will not allow for the steam to fog over mirrors. That is why those are there.
Glad you used one of the perks of grocery delivery we offer. We do hope you enjoyed all the fun things there are to do in New Orleans, when not here for JazzFest.
