Nestled in the Sierras this charming 3 bedroom 2 bath cottage offer plenty to do. Sound of Chowchilla river flowing back of the house make you feel so relaxed. The main living area has a cozy setting that every one can enjoy the fire place and watch TV. Open kitchen will give you room to make your favorite dish at ease. All the utensils are in place and for your convenience & the cabinets have been labeled. Free WiFi and only Verizon cell service will work at the house. Patio has a charcoal BBQ for all your BBQ needs. Guests can enjoy sitting at the picnic bench and watch occasional Deer and Turkey walk through the back yard.

Master bedroom has a king bed with an attached toilet, 2nd bedroom has queen bed and the 3rd room has a twin size bed and a twin bunk bed for the kids. Guest can enjoy the open floor plan of the house. Walking to the river it is short walk down the hill in the back yard. It is a great place to relax, listening to the water flow. During the winter months, warm up with the wood burning stove and standard gas heating at the house. Some winters there will be 1 to 2 inches of snow. For all the shooting enthuses there is a free shooting rang couple of minutesā€™ drive towards the national forest. It is a nice drive and also you can enjoy the beautiful views of the mountain range.
The property is located between Mariposa and Oakhurst town close to Hwy 49. Mariposa is a historic town and the house is located 25 minutes away from the property. The town has wonderful restaurants & bars. You could visit the Museum & Historic Center, California State Mining & Mineral Center, Zip line and Aerial Adventure parks and also can visit the Mariposa County Old Stone Jail while you are there.Ā You will find interesting shopping, including antiques and western/cowboy themed memorabilia. Ā 
From this mountain getaway, you can easily explore Yosemite valley, Mariposa Gold Country, and the Wild and Scenic Merced River. It is about a hour drive to the Yosemite park entrance. Choose from so many activities: hike Yosemite's spectacular trails, take a leisurely bike ride or float on a raft through Yosemite Valley in the Merced river and backpacking.

Yosemite Hike

Short trip to Yosemite NP. The house was amazing! Beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable, welcoming, and great location are just a few descriptions. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend-5 stars!

Riverside Manna

The riverside manna was very clean! Beds were soft, lots of extra blankets, plenty of cook ware. The surrounding area was beautiful. The creek was a short walk and was great to sit and listen to. One afternoon while in the creek a bear did come within 10 ft from us. He was not aggressive but that was scary. The creek is beautiful though. Everything was great. The host has great communication skills.

Needed better cleaning on vents and fans throughout the rental. Newer kitchen cookware - pans are needed. Missing blinds in kitchen sliding door. Location is ok so long as you are aware of the travel time required to get to the different entrances to Yosemite. Overall the stay was ok. Paul is very responsive.

Beautiful home overall. Just a few little things I think the home needs but the experience was great. Home was clean and welcoming. Stores are not close by, its about a 20 minute drive. A home like this should have all the condoments needed which it didn't. We love how it backed up to a creek and felt like we were in the woods. The wild life was amazing seeing bambi and her momma and wild turkey's. The property in the backyard was full of weeds and some in the front yard as well.

Great vacation home for Yosemite.

This great house is good for a family vacation. Itā€™s very comfortable but lacking some kitchen supplies and pots and pans. Itā€™s only an hour and a half drive to Yosemite valley. No live TV but Hulu or Netflix is available but we didnā€™t use it.

The property was really nice, clean, and well maintained. It was very spacious and well furnished. We were able to walk down to the river / creek behind the property and spend some quality time there. Even saw flocks of turkey wandering about that was quite fun for the kids! The host also called us the first day to make sure we were settled in and that was quite nice. Plenty of shopping and dining options at a 5-7 min drive so we didnt really have to worry about food at any time. Overall a 5/5 experience and we wouldnt mind staying there again when we visit Yosemite next time.

Simple/clean home

Nice house in a nice area. We were a little disappointed at how far this house was from Yosemite. It was an hour and a half drive, 2 times a day. That is on us though. No TVs in the bedrooms. Tankless water heater so there was unlimited hot water which was nice for our large family. There were a couple wild turkeys running around that we enjoyed watching. The river was nice but bring mosquito spray. We were getting eaten alive! I would say overall this house is very simple, clean, and comfortable. Meets all basic needs and felt safe.

It was a nice home. There were 7 adults and we each had a bed. Anything over we believe someone would be sleeping on the couch. The view was lovely out the back door. Lots of curvy roads to get to the location.

Everything we needed for our quick getaway to Yosemite

My friends and I stayed at Paul's place for our 2-day trip to Yosemite. Convenient location ~1.5 hours away from the park, located in a nice and quiet neighborhood. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, utinsels, and cutlery (even some appliances like a toaster and hand mixer) which was very nice since we opted to have home cooked meals instead of eating out. The little pathway leading to the river in the back was also a nice little surprise! Overall, the house was very clean and well maintained. Great communication and timely responses from the host. I would definitely stay here again for my next trip to Yosemite!

Few issues but overall good

The house was very clean when we arrived, however the furniture in the living room is different from the pictures. After a hard day of hiking we were planning on sitting back with our legs propped up on the sectional shown in the picture. It is now just a couch and loveseat with no ottoman to put your feet up on. The King size bed was very comfortable, I think it is a memory foam mattress. The bathrooms had no wash cloths so my wife used the one hand towel as a wash cloth which meant we now had no hand towel but there were plenty of large bath towels. The pot holders need to be replaced, I almost burnt my thumb using a beat up old pot holder that was missing some of the padding/silicone. Also bring your own ice because there is no icemaker or ice cube trays that you could make ice with. It is about 70-80 minutes to get to the south gate of Yosemite so if you want to get closer you will pay more and I don't think you will find anything much closer than 45-60 minutes away from the gate.

Comfortable stay

I think I was much more pleased than I expected to be with this house. The liked the house layout with the three bedroom doors close to each other, and yet the rooms were private, one from the other. The house was staged for a super comfortable stay, from the towels and bedding, to the couch and TV entertainment, to the full kitchen and accessories, and the creek nearby. We enjoyed breakfasts at the patio as we heard the creek flow. We also enjoyed the creek itself, swimming in one of the many accessible watering holes. The house was 30 minutes from Oakdale - where we did our grocery shopping - and was 30 minutes from Mariposa - where we enjoyed the main street shops and museum. And, the house was 1.5 to 2.0 hours away from different Yosemite sites, so we got used to the long drives. Additionally, Paul was prompt in responding to every communication and even checked in every once in a while.

Comfy place for a decent price!

Slightly over an hour from Yosemite, but 15-20 minutes to conveniences of town. Beautiful home with plenty of amenities! Loved having a nice spacious kitchen to cook in. The multiple outdoor seating options were nice and relaxing, even though not too private from neighbors. Really cool firepit area with plenty of wood from recently cut trees! Our master bed was pretty comfy, others must have been comfy too because there were no complaints. Loved our bathroom with lots of counter space and good water pressure in shower. Water from sink was amazing to drink! Only pretty minor issues related to traveling with the elderly---had to use chairs/tv tray to elevate my parents luggage so they didn't have to bend down (bedrooms had one nightstand and no dressers.) Also, path to beautiful creek was pretty steep and too much for my elderly parents with bad knees to handle. But they soaked in plenty of creek/waterfall beauty at Yosemite!

The mountains were calling , so we went!

Cant say enough about how much we enjoyed staying here. Our first night in we had five turkeys visit us in the backyard. And were greeted several time by deer. The house was spacious. With a great flow. Everything was labeled making it easy to find items and put things away. We used Paul's place to spring board our day trips in the area. My cousin won the lottery to climb the last 600 ft of half dome 2 made it to the "visor" and the other 2 to the sub dome. ..so proud of them. We also went to kings canyon and sequoia national park. . There were only a few things I would change. 1) more side tables in the bed rooms. Several people in our party use cpap machines. We only had seven towels for our party of eight but this wasnt a big deal since we washed every day. And I think I forgot to run the dishwasher before we left. My apologies paul :( but he is one of the nicest hosts I've stayed with thankyou so much

We stayed for 3 nights. The house is very clean and organized but furnitures are outdated. The bed was not comfortable and very squeaky. Both toilets made loud sound after every flush and the oven was very old and noisy. The creek nearby was easy to get to and very pretty. We even saw a deer the first day. Unfortunately, we did encounter a problem during our stay. We were notified by the owner the day before our arrival that the main bridge to the house is closed for the week and we will have to use the alternative route. When we got there, the road was completely unpaved and covered in rocks. Itā€™s very narrow and only one way so itā€™s hard to let an oncoming car pass. It goes up and around the mountain so not much space. Our tires took some damage from that road condition and we had to drive very slowly, which added to our drive time. We asked the owner if we can check out one day early and get refund for just that one night but he refused. We had plans to stay at Yosemite to see the sunset but we couldnā€™t because we didnā€™t feel comfortable driving on that road in the dark since there are no street lights. It was very disappointing that we had to change our plans. We came from very far away and not sure when weā€™ll return to Yosemite again.
