Summary-
Are you looking for the perfect escape from the crowds in a fully stocked comfortable cabin? Come spend some quality time with your family and/or friends, enjoy amazing sunsets, gaze at the stars and relax at our Sherwood forest cabin! This cabin can accommodate up to 6 people and is located in the quiet pine forest between Williams and Flagstaff. It is less than 10 minutes from BearArizona, Dear Farm, Route 66, Grand Canyon Railroad, Shopping, and the New Canyon Roller coaster. It is 45 min. from Flagstaff/ Snow Bowl or the Grand Canyon.

The Space Description-
This 980 sq. foot 2-story cabin sits on a pine treed 1-acre lot. Linens, towels, pillows, and cookware are all in place and available. Fireplace, Air conditioner, and heater system and baseboard/wall heaters for climate control. In addition, fans are provided in every room of the house for those who need constant airflow. There is a full kitchen in an open floor plan, with a dishwasher. The Cabin itself has back road access to Sycamore canyon, Sycamore falls, and lakes like White Horse Lake, Dog Town Lake, and a short drive to Kaibab Lake. There is plenty of fresh air, star gazing, fishing, and hiking. We are pet friendly at an additional charge due to the extra cleaning that takes place.
This cabin is sure to keep everyone busy both inside and outside as it has a large porch with rocking chairs and a propane fire pit, lots of board games, a record player, records, a movie projector, a huge DVD selection, 2 T.V.s, and a play structure. It is close to hiking trails, fishing, BearArizona, the town of Williams, Flagstaff, Snow Bowl, Grand Canyon, Sedona, and much more!
The shopping is amazing and includes but is not limited to Native American jewelry, art galleries, clothing, and souvenirs. The local grocery store in Williams is a Safeway and is less than 10-15 min away. You can also take time to enjoy all of the wonderful restaurants including the local wine tastings and breweries in the area! Coconino County Short Term Rental Permit # STR-26-0110

A great place to stay while visiting the area. We went to the Polar Express, snow tubing and the deer farm which are all super close by. The home was exactly as advertised, perfect for me and my family. Kids loved all the games and the true cabin feeling of the stay. We appreciated the cleanliness and everything was well stocked for cooking family dinners.

The house is cute but 15-20 mins from Williams. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape far from town, it’s great. Also, the “master” bedroom is just a loft with curtains to make it private. The description likely states that but I missed it. But overall, a cute place.

Our experience was ok but only because we only slept there. The cleanliness was not good, I took pictures to show what I was referring to. The electrical was not great, extension cords everywhere. The refrigerator is held together with duct tape. If you want to watch any TV, the TV is very small. The TV in the bedroom had no remote to even turn it on. The outside grounds were unkept. The was an old John boat that had seen better days. Under the deck was filled with junk. The outside deck rail was not secure it was loose. The stairs on the inside were painted wood and kind of slick in socks. The neighbors dog barked all night too. If there is a way to share pictures please let me know and I'll send them to you.

We wish these concerns had been brought to our attention during the stay, as we are always happy to address guest questions or maintenance items immediately. Aside from check-in and check-out communication, no concerns were reported to us during the guest’s 8-night stay. The deck railing referenced in this review was inspected and secured, the home is regularly maintained, and the property does not have any known safety hazards. The stairway is fully illuminated and consistent with a standard residential cabin design. The electrical comments also do not accurately reflect the condition of the property, as appliances and outlets are maintained in safe working order. The area beneath the cabin referenced in the review is a clearly marked owner storage area that is not part of the guest space or advertised amenities. We take guest feedback seriously and continue to maintain and improve the cottage for future guests to enjoy.

Summer mini getaway

Cutest little cabin, made us feel right at home. The kids really loved the variety of board games. It’s in a Perfect location, about a 15-20 minute drive to town. My kids loved exploring the yard, and walking the neighborhood, Communication with the host was great and very fast. We rent a lot of vrbo for staycations and mini vacays and Kevin has been the most responsive host we have ever had. One last thing, the playset outside is for a child a little older, my two year old loved it but struggled a little to climb and play with it. But he did have a great time on it

Very neat cabin in a great setting. One star rating because the entire cabin had strong sewer smell

Arrived at the cabin and was greeted by a stong sewer smell at the door. We opened windows, but the smell was persistent. The family wanted to go a hotel, but it was late, we had been traveling a long time, and we had already spent our money on this place; so we stuck it out. The next morning, l noticed a note in the cabin instruction manuel that said if there was a sewer smell to plug the bathroom sink and tub. We did, but the smell continued. We did everything on the check out list which covered everything except putting new bedding on and cleaning the tub and toilet which we did anyway. Not much to do in the kitchen. The smell kept us from cooking much. Now that is all of the bad. Here is the good. The place is really neat and set up very well. A lot of time has been put into it. Fix the sewer smell and lower the cleaning fee and it would a very strong 4 or 5 star.

Our apologies for the bathroom smell. We are sending out experts to look into it and potentially fix any issues ASAP. The cleaning fee is priced to be comparable to local rates and all funds go to the cleaner as part of the fair wages program. Nice little cabin in the woods!

When we first arrived we were overwhelmed by a glade plug-in smell. My wife and I had a headache within the first 10 minutes from the chemicals so we had to unplug them all. We read the directions for the wood pellet stove and fired it up since it was near freezing temps. The stove worked for about 30 minutes and then shut off for the remaining night into the next day. It was freezing and luckily there were electric heaters so we cozied up the family and watched a movie. We couldn't get the internet to work so I looked on the router and it had a different name then what was listed on the help sheet. Finally got that to work, but we were never able to get the netflix working so we went with good old fashioned dvd's. The owner promptly had someone come over to fix the stove the next morning, a Sunday on a holiday weekend! They got it working and the place got toasty warm real quick. It was a cozy little cabin with a big sized yard for our daughter to play. Overall a nice place for a getaway!

Thank you for your review. We apologize for the glade plug in smell you encountered. The air gets stale when the cabin is shut up for extended periods and the plug ins help with that. We can definitely reduce the number used in the future. We try to plan for every contingency and have a backup option in place. We are glad the space heaters kept the cabin warm while we arranged for the pellet stove repair. We also have a propane generator on site in case the power goes out. Essentials can still be run such as heat and lighting and water. The internet service is spotty at best in our area. We hesitated even getting service at all. We do have Dvds at the cabin so that movies can be watched downstairs or upstairs. We are having the provider out soon to see what improvements can be made. Charming Sherwood Forest Cottage — Perfect Grand Canyon Base CampThis cottage is a gem for exploring everything the Williams and Grand Canyon area has to offer. Perfectly positioned for easy access to the Grand Canyon, Bearizona, the Deer Farm, historic Route 66 in Williams and a quick run to Flagstaff. You could not ask for a better base camp for the region.Rustic and charming — definitely not roughing it. Well equipped and feels like a real home. The family has lovingly decorated the space giving it a personal touch. The pantry is stocked with spices, coffee and teas and cocoa. Personal belongings are locked up which is understandable — just know storage space for luggage and food is at a premium.Dog friendly with a sniffing paradise outside — not fenced so keep them leashed. Fair warning — the kids playground and swings were not in usable condition during our stay, but our dogs discovered the tetherball and made it their own! . Host was easy, smooth and no hassle from start to finish.One thing to note — the road leading to the property is a dirt road, however it is excellently maintained and easy to navigate. We drove a Tesla and were fine but seasonally, that may be different. If you want a cozy private cabin feel rather than a stripped down short term rental this is your place. Highly recommend for couples, families and pet owners exploring the Grand Canyon region!

Great relaxing getaway!

We just came back from the Sherwood Forest Cottage. The cottage was very well stocked with everything we could possible need. It was clean and comfortable. We loved the location and were able to visit both Grand Canyon and Sedona in about an hour. We were close to Flagstaff and nice restaurants as well and a short drive into Williams. The property was pretty and our two golden retrievers loved exploring the forest surrounding the cabin. We definitely recommend this place for a nice, relaxing getaway!

Great Stay!

We had a wonderful time staying here! The cabin felt so homey and quaint; it was so lovely. The decor and the little touches were all perfect. Anything we could have possibly needed was available. It is in a great location with easy access to man attractions and stores!

The place was really cozy, clean, and welcoming. The kitchen had good amenities. We had a little trouble with the wine opener, and a dish towel would be handy. We loved the personal touches in the kids bedroom, bathroom, living room. We loved the board game collection too. We enjoyed walking around in the wood. It was a great half way location between the Grand Canyon and Sedona. The host was really attentive to our needs and questions. Thank you for a great stay!
