The house was perfect and relaxing. We walked into an inviting gas fire already burning that became the favorite spot by our dogs. Jan was quick to respond and answered all our questions before we arrived. We will be staying there again.

Beautiful spot on the river!

Cabin was perfect for our stay. Fully furnished, right on the water. Big bedrooms, and plenty of space for the 4 of us.

Amazing getaway

I wish we could have stayed longer - this was such an incredible little waterfront getaway that my whole family enjoyed! The area is gorgeous and they really thought of everything to make the home as comfortable and enjoyable as possible!

Great place with a great price!

The Nest was a great place to stay and Jan was a great hostess. Our stay was very nice considering the heat and humidity that the Sault had while we were there for Engineer's Day. The view was beautiful and the area was quiet. My family and I will be returning for another stay again in the future!

Beautiful Spot

Really enjoyed our time at the Nest. Beautiful view of river. Daily visits from 2 friendly Labradors. Our dog enjoyed himself also.

Wonderful getaway!

Perfect cabin for a relaxing getaway! Wonderful hosts, available for questions as they arose. We enjoyed being on the water and it’s beautiful views, the fireplace, the comfortable beds, and the games and puzzles for after dinner entertainment. Highly recommend!

Fishing and Relaxing

This is a great place if you want easy acess to the soo and lake George Fishery. The owner and neighbors are great on helping. The facilities have everything you need to start and finish your day.. Highly recommend this place..

Bowling Green Boys

The property is perfect and well maintained. The views are awesome and access so fishing was just what we were looking for. Jan and Harold are great people and we will be renting again next year. We had a blast the whole week and the house was a great place to land each night. Cannot wait to go back.

Clean, quaint and welcoming!

We stayed here for part of our Honeymoon. We had a lovely time. Jan and Harold were more than accommodating. We arrived later than expected and upon arrival found that the fireplace had been turned on for us, which added a sense of welcoming and home to our trip. The house was clean and well kept. We cannot wait to come back and visit in the future!

Peaceful getaway

My husband and I really enjoyed The Nest. It was so peaceful. The house is very well stocked with all the essentials, the stove is so cozy. The neighborhood dogs passing through were so friendly with our shepherd, she looked forward to play time every morning! The river was tranquil, and we experienced both fall and winter in our six day stay. We'll be back!

Peace and Quiet

Everything about this property was exactly as described. It was very clean. Well-stocked kitchen if you want to cook. We bought some groceries before heading to the property and did cook a meal. Beautiful view of the water (it's not the side of the island the freighters go past). Lots of birds singing and lots of quiet.

Island Heaven

My husband and I spent an absolutely magical, peaceful New Year's Eve at The Nest as we made our way around Lake Michigan. Jan and Harold made sure we had everything we needed for a quiet, peaceful and bountiful evening. We grilled a simple meal, ate by candlelight, cozied up by the fireplace, and even had a small bonfire going outside as the sun went down. Sparklers in the snow, a gorgeous morning sky, the laughter of ducks across placid water. Total serenity and well worth the trip.

The Nest on Sugar Island

The Nest is 10 out of 10 best place to stay for for a quiet get away with the most beautiful scenery! Jan kept everything clean and tidy for our stay! Even kept a gas fireplace lit for us, creating the most cozy feel to the Nest! If you're looking for a secluded place in the woods and waterfront property to vacation at, The Nest is the place to be! The people on Sugar Island and in Sault Saint Marie are the most kind people! Food in the area is amazing!!! And White fish point is only a little over an hour drive if you want to look for YooperLight stones!! Lake Superior is absolutely gorgeous!!

Down the Isle

The biggest challenge was the tiny shower and towels provided were thin with limited hanging space so they didn't always dry out before the next day. Otherwise, the cottage was quite well stocked. One screen door had trouble staying in place. The kitchen sink sprayer was tricky.

Thank you for your review! Sink spayer certainly gave me a face washing, that has been resolved appreciated the note you left. I did not realize that one of the towels hooks were broken so that will be replaced and the towels will be looked at also. We really do appreciate feed back so we can take care of issues. Thank you for staying with us!
