It is a quiet retreat and perfect spot to view the sunrise , sunset , birds , manatees , dolphins and rest in a peaceful and romantic setting .Bring your own toys and use our dock , kayaks and bikes .Enjoy quiet walks , visit our local beach, golf , fishing or just plain relaxing in our hammock right over our small waterfall pond .There is also local parks and hiking nearby .

The location makes Anita's hideaway a 5 star rating though the house itself could definitely use some updating. Regardless, our family enjoyed the beautiful view and had a great time fishing.

I can't say enough good things about the property-clean, relaxing, beautiful home and surroundings. There were lots of great things to do in the area, and we took advantage of a lot of them. It was the perfect place for us to unwind for the week, thanks!

Birthday Weekend

This was a perfect place to get away for a few days for my birthday weekend. The home was very clean and exactly as described. I brought my own paddle board but there are 3 kayaks available to use which is amazing. It is right on the water and so peaceful. When i needed something, the owners were super responsive and even stopped by to help out. I would definitely recommend this property for your next getaway. Thank you again Anita and Pat!

Beautiful and peaceful!

We had a nice and relaxing stay at this beautiful property. The views are awesome and it’s so peaceful right on the water. We loved all of the porches, great to have the screened options to keep at least some of the bugs away! The kayaks and bikes are a nice touch as well.

Quiet Nature Family Escape

Property was exactly what we were wanted...a quiet, escape surrounded by the beauty of nature of Crytsal River area. We loved the backyard, the dock, the hammock and just sitting out in 2nf floor screened area spending quality time together enjoying the beautiful sunsets over looking the marshes and canals. Home had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay for 3 adults and two teens. The kids really enjoyed sleeping the in loft bed space. Bunk beds are good for smaller kids, for 5'3" at most for the bunks. Great location, very quiet and centrally located to go swim with Manatees in Crytsal River or Homosassa. Also a nice 30 min drive to Inverness which is a cute small town and has the beautiful Withlacoochee State Trail which makes for an amazing day of biking for the family. Anita was a great communicator when ever we had questions. Highly recommed this property!

Second time was just as good as the first.

Second time booking this property. We enjoy everything this property offers. The views are stunning. We spent a lot of time on the deck taking in those views and visiting with family. When it’s time to go fishing, the dock is just a few feet from the house. Very short boat ride out to where we like to fish. House is comfortable and well appointed. The owners are super nice and very responsive. Highly recommend this property!

Great stay

vrbo messed up our reservation and we needed a place to stay in a hurry. Anita was quick to respond and the house was perfect. She showed us around and was super helpful. Her husband pat even stopped by the next day to see if we needed anything and to make sure we settled in ok. This house will stay on my favorites list and I know exactly where ill be staying next time we are in crystal river.

Simple - Quiet- Anita’s VRBO

We needed a VRBO to safely launch my Hobie fishing kayak and achieve a much needed “refreshment”. I’m a disabled combat veteran and it’s not easy to find a place to feel comfortable. It’s also NOT easy to find a VRBO on the water with a safe & ready launch for a heavy fishing kayak; I’m not able to physically move heavy loads without risks. Though the dock isn’t equipped with a kayak dock there is a safe launch about 50 yards down the street and Anita’s dock has a floating lower level which worked really good for entering and exiting the kayak. Anita is flexible, responsive, friendly and this VRBO for us was a good decision. Location, immediate water access and “the quiet” are just some of the reasons we recommend you consider this rental. Truly some of the most beautiful sunrises. Property is “extremely clean”, easy to use, has spacious parking and the lot is private (wonderfully - immediately - quiet). Local infrastructure for supplies are very accessible e.g., groceries, bait for anglers, vino for sunsets, etc. We don’t rent VRBO’s so we can make reviews, we rent them to spend time with each other in ways we value and Anita’s waterfront VRBO enabled us to truly enjoy a GREAT 2023 Thanksgiving. Appliances, propane grill and common necessities inside the home all worked. Internet speed was basic and consistent; T Mobile coverage for cell was GOOD both inside the home and on the water. Thank you, Anita (and Pat) for sharing your home.

Great Location

Really enjoyed our stay at this property. The view is outstanding. House is very comfortable and private. Communication with the owner was great. We enjoyed fishing,taking in nature and the local restaurants. Highly recommend Anita’s Nature Coast if you are looking for a great place in the Crystal River area.

You Cannot Have your Cake and Eat it Too

I booked this property for my mother's 50th birthday. Being a current cancer patient and wanting to give my mom a special birthday after the challenging year, I was extremely excited to find a property with a view that was close to town for her to partake in unique activities while I could be safely away from large crowds. Anita explained upon booking that their pond room would be unavailable due to previous hurricane damage. On the 3rd morning, my family and I were awoken to banging in the pond room. My father went to check where the noise was coming from, only to find a man in the lower portion of the house doing construction and his vehicle in the driveway. We immediately contacted Anita who initially explained it as a misunderstanding and we would not be disturbed any further. However, within the hour, doors were being delivered and my father offered to put them in her garage so we were no longer disturbed. However, Anita then arrived with two more people to assist with her construction. At this point, my mother decided to leave. We asked for the return of our money for the night’s stay. She agreed but stated that we needed to get a refund from VRBO. We contacted VRBO, who then contacted her: the first time she hung up; the second time she ignored their calls. In the end, my mother decided to leave due to my health, safety, and security. Although we got a refund, our memories were ruined by Anita's greed, lack of empathy, and her out-of-control behavior.

This was our third stay and will continue to come back, year after year, as long as they let us. Anita is such a pleasure to talk to and truly cares about her guests. Despite dealing with the unfortunate aftermath of a recent hurricane, they welcomed us back and their home is just as perfect as it always was. We love the serenity, privacy and most of all the view. The home is so cozy, well appointed and the kitchen and bathroom are completely stocked with the essentials. We just love staying here and highly recommend this rental!

Lovely home, peaceful surroundings

This was my second time renting this lovely home to visit family in the area. The house is well equipped and clean, and the property sits on the Salt River with wonderful marsh views and a little dock with a bench. There are also upper and lower screened rooms and a deck. I observed many species of birds, anoles, skins, crabs, and even manatees while relaxing on dock. I did experience a problem that was not the fault of the owners- Pat and Anita were very attentive. Excellent communication. I look forward to returning next time I visit family here.

We stayed at the house for my sons 12th birthday and couldn’t be happier with the place we chose! The sunsets are amazing and we caught fish and crabs off the dock all week. We are planning to return to Crystal river soon and I don’t need search for another place to stay.

Family Vacation

We had a fantastic stay for our first visit to Crystal River. The property was the perfect mix of location and seclusion. We enjoyed scalloping, grouper fishing and swimming with manatees while on our stay! On our way to our manatee tour we were lucky enough to see 2 right off of the dock. We did some dock fishing and caught quite a few grunts, a sting ray and a small shark! The kayaks were a huge hit with the family especially my son who enjoyed exploring the nearby canals. I would definitely recommend staying here and will book again the next time we are in the area!

Location, location, location

We live locally, but wanted to enjoy staying on the water with our boat. And it was the perfect location. The house was clean and exactly how it looked in the pictures. Lots of screened in area to keep the bugs away and still enjoy outside. My only complaint is that after a week staying there, we were never able to figure out the microwave. I had no idea they could make a microwave so non user-friendly. Great stay and I would recommend the house… just bring your own microwave. :)
