Ponderosa Retreat – Spacious 4-Bedroom Cabin with Hot Tub & Sauna

Nestled among the beautiful Ponderosa Pines, this spacious 4-bedroom mountain home offers the perfect Black Hills getaway for families and groups. Enjoy peaceful forest views with easy access to hiking and ATV trails right nearby.

Inside, you’ll find 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and an open loft with 3 twin beds—plenty of space for everyone. The main level features a king primary suite with en-suite bath and a queen bedroom. The lower level includes another king bedroom, a queen bedroom, and a large living area with a smart TV and foosball table for family fun.

Relax outdoors on one of four scenic decks, fire up the gas grill, or unwind after a day of adventure in the hot tub. The fully equipped kitchen includes all the cooking essentials, a coffee maker, spices, and an extra refrigerator in the garage for drinks and supplies.

With Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and thoughtful amenities throughout, this cabin provides both comfort and convenience in a beautiful mountain setting.

Such a wonderful home for our 3 couples plus 1. The kitchen was well stocked and the home was very clean. It was a bit off the beaten path for visits to Mt Rushmore etc. but we always prefer to stay away from the hustle & bustle of a big city or hotels. Very happy with our stay & would definitely consider it again.

A beautiful property in a sublime mountain location. The communication with the host was tremendous and very responsive (within minutes). The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the dining/living areas were open spaced and provided a nice gathering site overlooking the mountain scenery. The house was well stocked with towels and kitchen ware as well as condiments and cooking supplies. It’s remote and private yet close enough to Rapid City and other sites of interest. Do not miss this gem if traveling in the area.

The host seamlessly worked with us when we arrived a couple hours early. The property was great with great views. We had a big family and we were able to spread out. It was a very relaxing stay. Thank you!

Great cabin with space to hangout in the two stall garage. Parking with trailers was challenging because of the tight turns and inclines going to the cabin. We parked our trucks and trailers by the hosts main office. Rooms were clean as was the cabin. I would recommend bringing more toilet paper if you are staying for more than a couple days. Plenty of clean linens and towels which was fantastic! Kitchen was well stocked and everything was where you expected it to be.Great cabin, we would stay there again!

Mt Rushmore Family Retreat

Property was amazing and so unique. Would stay there again if the intent is to relax and have family time. Dirt road was graded well and takes time to navigate but the wildlife was fun to see.

Secluded

Great remote area. We loved the size of the house for all 10 of us. The house was stocked with all the essentials. It was quite a drive with the construction but for those that got car sick in our group it worked perfect. Hot tub was great to relax in. Had a blast visiting all the sites!

Spacious and Beautiful

3 couples stayed, and we had a wonderful time. did some side-by-side riding, and back to the cabin every evening for dinner and so watch football. Everything was as stated, and more. Kitchen and bathrooms were well supplied. Very comfortable surroundings. We would definitely stay here again!

Great family getaway

This is a wonderful older property that gives a perfect vibe of mountain living. The decor is so unique and makes you want to learn more about the area's history. The amenities, games and five decks were plentiful for six adults and three young children. Host Julie was very attentive. It's quiet and remote, which is a positive unless there's highway construction and it extends your travel time to attractions, and that was just our luck. Highly recommend if you want a tranquil, unique property that offers better value than the others we've tried.

South Dakota vacation

The property was excellent for our needs! We took our grandchildren on a trip since they live in different states and are young enough to have time in their schedules. We took them to several sites in the area during the day and ate with their parents for breakfast and dinner. We all could go our own way during the day! It was a fabulous vacation!

Beautiful spot for our family!

Amazing property! There was plenty of space for our 5 girls and us to spread out. We loved the hot tub, nice big kitchen for cooking dinners & breakfasts and many decks to relax on. The drive up the hill took a little long but that would be our only complaint. The kids had fun with games, PlayStation and foosball - a bonus to have those things already there and ready for them. We’d definitely stay here again!

We love meeting people and helping them enjoy their time in the hills. We were born and raised in South Dakota .

This property and others that we manage on Edelweiss Mountain are in a secluded area which gives you a chance to unwind from a day of sight seeing. The quite area will allow you to see wildlife and see the stars above at night. We love living here.This cabin is owned by residents of South Dakota who love the Black Hills. We expect that anyone renting our cabin will treat it with care as well as respect the furnishings in the home. We are very respectful members of the Edelweiss Mountain homeowners association. We only want renters who will also hold high regard for the beauty and serenity of our hidden little community.
We invite you to spend your next vacation at our cabin. Whether it's for a week or a few days . Our cabin offers some of the most breathtaking scenery and relaxing atmosphere found anywhere.

Edelweiss Mountain is a gated community assuring you of privacy . Licensed by the South Dakota Department of Health.
Sturgis Rally travelers there is 3 miles of gravel to this home.
Guests with trailers this home has room for 2 trailers.

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic extra precautions in cleaning have been priority for us. We are following all Department of Health guidelines.
