Gorgeous Lakeside Chalet

Property is located on a small float plane sized lake off the Denali Highway on a private drive. Enjoy fishing, boating or just relaxing at your own boat launch and beach on this 3 acres gem. After your daily venture, relax on the deck, barbecue or jump in the hot tub. No matter what you do, you will always find yourself gazing in awe of the scenery. Prime Berry picking, Wildlife viewing with hiking or strolling right out your door. 15 Miles to Carlo Creek, 20 miles to the Grizzly and Denali National Park, with Glitter Gulch just to the north. Activities include Rafting, Flight seeing, Hiking, Northern lights(mid August-Mid September), Fishing, Hunting, dog sledding, the 135 mile Denali Highway or Denali National Park. Local guides and tours available or self guided. When booking please do not leave a day that is non-bookable on either side of your stay. If you do, we may call you and see if you can adjust your vacation plans or we may not be able to rent. We only have approximately 115 days that we can possibly book and if every guest left a day or two on either side that is un-bookable, we could potentially lose out on half our season. Thank you for your consideration.

We had a wonderful time staying at the lakeside chalet. The house was very clean, beautifully decorated, as well as plenty of detailed directions provided, in addition to communication as we arrived. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. They provided bath towels and also separate hot tub towels. They provided sleep masks if needed and had black out blinds on most of the windows. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware. We enjoyed the hot tub-it was clean and easily accessible on the deck. The house is on a small lake, which we walked down to but we didn't use the paddleboat because the weather was chilly. We walked around the neighborhood in the morning and enjoyed the beautiful mountain views. It was about 30 minute drive to the Denali Visitor Center and a small town of Healy about 15 minutes north beyond that, since Cantwell itself is not a town. We would definitely recommend spending time at this Alaskan Lakeside Chalet.

Our trip couldn’t have been better! The views of the lake and Denali were absolutely breathtaking, and the home was so comfortable and peaceful. Being just a short ride from the park entrance made it really convenient for all our adventures.

Stunningly beautiful house and property! Well decorated and furnished with all the comforts of home, including a fully stocked kitchen with a wide selection of condiments. Perfect home base for a visit to Denali, and we spent one day just enjoying all the house had to offer. The owners sent a very thorough guide of the house and the area, which helped us make the most of our time in the area. They also thoughtfully provide several eye masks, which makes it easier to sleep during those long Alaska summer days. Finally, there’s plenty of bear spray and insect spray left by previous travelers at the house, so if you haven’t yet bought some, check the house first. My only regret is that we didn’t stay another day or two. Thanks Kelly and Cheryl!

Property was exactly as listed.. a bit quirky, with a split full bathroom (2 sinks outside: one in master) as well as the 1/2 bath..but that worked well for our family of 4. Loved the snacks and view! A great place to start our Alaska vacation.

As the name suggests, this property is located at a gorgeous location! It is near a beautiful lake and is surrounded by mountains whose views are breathtaking! If you visit in the summer, then don't forget to see the sun set among the Alaskan range on the west side of the house... and, of course, enjoy the midnight dusk. The hot tub was a hit with our kids. The location of the house is also convenient if you are visiting Denali National Park but want to stay away from the busy areas near the Park. Overall, a great place to stay!

Denali landing

The home is located in a beautiful, but remote location about 25 minutes from Denali National Park. The hot tub was wonderful after our hiking trips. We saw a female moose and her baby in the back yard which was really cool, so we made sure that we didn’t invade her space too much and stayed out of the back yard. The only draw back was that there aren’t any grocery stores close, so make a list before going shopping. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay on Drashner Lake. The home was beautiful and well-kept. The views were stunning and the house was very comfortable. Highly recommend this house for anyone visiting Denali National Park or just wanting a getaway.

Exceeded expectations

First, I want to mention how clean the house was upon arrival. Everything to dishes, towels, utensils and supplies were well thought out and organized not too much and not too little. We stayed the first two weeks in June so the weather was still a little cold even snowed one night, fishing wasn't the best but we expected that even the fly-fishing guide said he was struggling. The property is beautiful we took a little hike in the back and ran into a red fox, The location is remote but our focus was Mt. Mckinley and we explored a lot of the park which was really nice. We also did the ATV tour in Healy and wen to the brewery great place. My son wanted to hit some fishing holes in Willow which is a few hours away on the way back we stopped in Talkeetna (highly recommend). We also went into Denali city ate at some of the lodges which were amazing. Hot tub was a nice bonus especially with all the rain and cool weather. We were able to see caribou, Dall sheep 27 moose and calfs, no bears. If you like wilderness and exploring this is a great place. If I had to do it again I would take one of the tour buses or trains and stay 2 or 3 nights and head down to coopers landing or Homer a little more to do and warmer weather. The host was fantastic, and I cannot say enough about this cozy home. Thank you for sharing your property.

Fantastic & Beautiful Chalet

We had a wonderful time in Alaska at this Chalet. The location is perfect for visiting Denali. The chalet is beautiful insise and out. The views of the lake and mountains are spectacular. We were able to see Denali from the balcony on the second floor. Having a full kitchen with all the amenities made life easy because we were on the go every day. Cheryl and Kelly were wonderful, they addresed all of questions and concerns. If you want a fantastic place to stay pick this chalet.

The location is absolutely stunning. The mountain views from every window did not disappoint. The home is very well kept and had everything for our stay. It wasn't just a shell of a house. The feeling there was warm and inviting. It felt like home. My kids enjoyed the paddle boat and hanging out on the deck. I wish we could have enjoyed the hot tub, but we didn't have enough time. We'd love to come back for a future visit.

How did we meet, Kelly had a job in Southeast Alaska 1991, I worked as a Ticket Agent. His work company would freight just about everyday, we started to chat and out on a date it was year 1991, we have been married since 1992.
We both enjoy our family time with our 3 wonderful children and enjoy our time with our 7 grandkids, Alaska will always be our home.

Whether you see moose, bears, caribou, sheep, the spectacular scenery, the 135 mile Denali highway or find yourself enjoying the lake at your doorstep, you will know you have found a special place in Alaska.

In the event your dates are booked, we have another VRBO at Mile post 229.5 miles of the Parks Highway within a mile of the southern entrance to Denali National Park. You may check this property out as well. It is called "Log Home on Denali Airstrip."
