Colcord Cottage is a quintessential summer guest cottage that is located in Searsport on Penobscot Bay. Enjoy ocean views from almost every room, watch the changing tides, listen to the waves while you sleep and explore the beach. The recently renovated cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, spacious living room, 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, new beds, sofa bed, day bed, all of the comforts of home. It is conveniently located on route 1, only an hour from Acadia National Park, 10 minutes to Belfast, 30 minutes to Camden and 40 minutes to Bangor.

Colcort cottage Our stay was one of comfort, relaxing and refreshing. Denise & Ernie are outstanding host. The cottage and decor is lovely along with superb accommodations. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch with coffee in hand and looking out at the water. We would highly recommend staying at this cottage

Best place to stay in Searsport!

This was our favorite stay of the entire trip! The view was incredible, and the home was so cozy and perfect. It had everything we needed and more, plus all the adorable decorations and thoughtful touches. Ernie and Denise were basically the best hosts you could ever ask for! Helpful, kind, and incredibly friendly. They even went above and beyond to help our teenager feel right at home. We all HIGHLY recommend this place!!

Quaint cottage Experience

Our stay at the cottage was peaceful. Denise was prompt to give us detailed directions of how to access the cottage, where to park and provided a cart for us to use moving our luggage! The added perks that Denise includes in the cottage are hospitality at it's finest! The cottage was clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the wildlife each morning while enjoying coffee on the deck. We would definately stay here again!

Maine getaway!!

I donā€™t think we could have asked for a better place to stay for our first visit to Maine. Hard to beat waking up and going to bed to the sound and smell of the ocean. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The location was great! Centrally located for us to visit all the towns and parks we had hoped to see. I would highly recommend a stay there. If we can manage to get back there I would stay there again.

Cottage Stay

Our family spent a week at Denise and Ernie's cottage. They have done a wonderful job maintaining / restoring this cottage. It feels very relaxing inside and out. It's very private and quiet and the kids really loved playing on the lawn in between the swims in the ocean. We'd recommend this to people of all ages. Also, the beds were very comfortable!

Lovely cottage in a great location!

If you are searching for the most well appointed rental, youā€™ve found it in Colcord Cottage. Denise and Ernie have thought of everything for their guests. From the gas grill, fully equipped kitchen with everything (and I mean anything) you could possibly need, down to the first aid kit in the bath. Iā€™ve stayed at a lot of different rental properties over the years and this one is towards the top in terms of cleanliness, location and amenities. If we ever make it back to Maine, we will definitely come back here. We had a great time!

Classic Maine Experience!

Loved this place! Super clean! From indoors to outdoors, Ernie and Denise covered every detail to make our stay excellent! The cottage is fully stocked with supplies and comforts of home. Speaking of comfort, the master bed was perfect and the view from the windows was as New England as it gets! Outdoors contained: two-man kayak, life jackets, yard games, shovels (for treasure digging at the beach), grill, fire pit, ample seating, picnic table, and even a hammock! My kids had plenty of options for entertaining themselves. After beach and yard play, we spent hours lounging on the deck and soaking in the ocean view and wildlife. Truly, this is a lovely place to stay! I highly recommend.

Perfection!

We have stayed in quite a few VRBO places and I have to say our stay at Colcord Cottage was the BEST ever! It is piece of paradise on the coast of Maine. We arrived to a personal welcome and tour of the cottage, a lovely basket of snacks, firewood for the firepit, a hammock, grill & propane... everything. The cottage was the perfect size and layout for our family (my husband and me and our 2 teenage girls). The beds and pillows and furniture were all super comfortable, all the linens and towels were excellent quality, the house was spotless, beautifully decorated and coordinated, and it is equipped with absolutely everything anyone could need. Denise & Ernie were so kind, friendly, and helpful - we really enjoyed getting to know them a bit during our stay. They were always ready with great recommendations for restaurants, shopping, travel, etc. The town of Searsport is small but growing. It will be very interesting to see it again in a couple of years - lots of good stuff happening! Thank you so much Denise & Ernie. We made some really special family memories during our time at your place and we are so grateful for it. As I said in the guest book, Colcord Cottage felt so much like home that I know we are going to be homesick for it until we can get back there, and I am sure we will!

Completely Charming!

Having made many, many trips to Maine over the years, we've stayed in a variety of places - Colcord Cottage was truly one of the best. Denise and Ernie are wonderful hosts for this sweet cottage on the bay, they've truly thought of every amenity for the comfort of their guests. The cottage is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and comfortable in every way. We loved being able to sit on the porch in the morning and evenings just soaking in the view. It's so peaceful and relaxing. The sunrises and sunsets were gorgeous from that vantage point. You can also take the steps down to the rocky beach area at low tide and explore, or take advantage of the kayak provided if you're feeling adventurous. The kitchen is fully stocked with every possible need covered - even a crock pot and bakeware! We enjoyed being able to cook and bake while we were there, it was a nice alternative to eating out every meal. Even though there are plenty of good restaurants close by - we especially enjoyed Darby's and The Daily Soup in Belfast, and Crosby's Drive-In in Bucksport had some of the most delicious Fried Haddock ever. The beds were all very comfortable and it was nice to have all the linens provided. There were plenty of fluffy towels for the bathroom too. There is so much more I could add, really, every detail was attended to, it would be hard to mention each one. All in all, it was a near perfect week - we will definitely be back to Colcord Cottage and if you are considering a stay here - do it! Unless it's the week we want to rent that is.... :) Thank you Denise and Ernie for a wonderful stay - you truly understand the meaning of hospitality!

Perfect Maine Cottage

This cottage was delightful and fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy the coast of Maine. It was cozy and calming, and the view is incredible. The beach is wonderful and secluded, and a great place to find sea glass. The owners were so friendly and responsive and eager to provide more than we needed for our week away. I would definitely come back here, and recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway in Maine!

Great location, great views, great hosts!

The home was clean and well equipped. The view was spectacular and the hosts were gracious and very helpful! We stayed with two little ones (ages 3 and 7) and it was a very enjoyable experience. We will no doubt be returning!!

Beautifully restored historic cottage

We loved it here. Denise & Ernie are so lovely and attentive to all needs. We wished there was laundry, but Denise supplies beautiful, lush towels, sheets, and infact everything is new & clean and adorable. The primary bedroom upstairs is especially nice, with an amazing view. I loved exploring the rocky and beautiful cove of a beach. It is wild and beautiful, if slightly treacherous(meaning just not handicapped accessible--and seaweed is very slippery!). Nearby Belfast is so lovely, and proximity to Bar Harbor and beautiful lakes makes this place a great spot to get away but always have something to see if you like. Thanks so much for our stay.

Beautiful view!

The Colcord Cottage was a delight! Very clean and well equipped. The beach view is really stunning and the deck is perfect for drinks and a relaxing break. Main bedroom is spacious and very comfortable bed. Second bedroom is perfect for 2 kids. Fun time!

Perfect Maine Getaway

Thank you Denise and Ernie for our wonderful stay in Maine. We really enjoyed our first trip to this lovely state, and our boys particularly enjoyed exploring the private beach. The house had everything we could possibly want, and the location was perfect - quiet and close enough to Acadia, kayaking and sailing!

Spectacular

Adorable cottage. Charming! Impeccably clean and well appointed. High guality beds and bedding. Fluffy white towels. Ridiculously well stocked kitchen (Tommy Bahama dishes!). Donā€™t be put off by the front as you pull off the main road (owner renovating the front house - the cottage is in the back). The magic is the view of the bay as you turn the corner after parking in the driveway and are greeted by an expansive and very private back yard. Great front deck - firepits -spotless grills and stairway to the waters edge! Delightful experience!

Very nice and well appointed.

Cute little cottage. Beautiful views. Denise has it well stocked and you couldn't want for anything down to fingernail polish remover for the ladies. Only thing missing - sound of the waves unless it is raining and the wind is blowing more than just a breeze. However, you will enjoy watching the red squirrels bringing the berries up on the porch and having a meal or chattering in the trees. Very nice! Convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia.

Perfect getaway

Colcord cottage was the perfect getaway. We went to Maine for a little escape and for a bonding experience with my kids. The cottage was decorated beautifully. Denise and Ernie were so welcoming and made sure the experience was amazing. The views were spectacular and the location was convenient for exploring. They had a kayak for us to use which we really enjoyed. There were many fond memories made here and I would definitely recommend Colcord Cottage to anyone.

Oceanfront Hidden Gem!!

From the moment you walk in the cottage is warm and inviting. It is impeccably decorated in a classy seaside style. The cottage is well equipped with any item you may need. Every little detail has been thought of! We truly enjoyed spending time here and enjoyed the full kitchen and outdoor grill. Denise and Ernie are wonderful hosts and you can immediately feel the labor of love they have for this cottage!! We cannot wait to return and share with our friends this beautiful property!! beautiful view, wonderful hosts

this is a lovely, pretty, very comfortable cottage. there were 4 adults and private bedrooms for the couples. the rest of the house was well-laid out and there's a comfotable deck overlooking the long view of the cove out to sea.... . a perfectly outfitted kitchen and living room looking to the view. a dining room is there, altho we often ate on the deck. there is a large lawn, and for families there are games outside and in, and also outdoor cooking equipment... during the stay, we had a couple glitches with wifi service and hot water (not at all the fault of the owners) with the hosts being immediately responsive to get them fixed quickly. we had no other problems at all.. an extra bonus is being able to easily get a kayak in the water when the tides are right. (and of course, the weather, which during our stay was quite perfect ). i definitely recommend this cottage for a coastal maine waterfront vacation..
