Cozy 3 bedrooms, 2 baths condominium beautifully situated where Folsom Brook meets Mad River. Conveniently, central located to skiing at Sugarbush, Mt Ellen and Mad River Glen. The condo is located en route of the free Mad Bus which just needs to be waved down to bring you to your skiing adventure. Right across the street, walking distance, is a mountain bike rental shop. The bike trail head starts less than a mile away and the trails are about 30miles.
After a day on the nearby slopes, warm up in front of the fireplace in the generous living room. Wireless internet. The kitchen is fully equipped; never the less, restaurants, stores and gas stations are just minutes away. In the summer, relax and enjoy the sun in the backyard by the river. Nature calls to explore by skis, kayak, snowmobile, horseback, bike and foot. Additionally the Mad River Valley has a great brewery, and distillery. Top 25 Foliage Towns in New England!

Great place to stay - we were 2 adults and 2 12 yr olds. Perfect.

Very clean, warm, and comfortable. We stayed here while skiing at Mad River Glen and really enjoyed it.

Birgit’s house is great. It has everything you need, it’s in a great location, has a fireplace and great views. We had a great stay and would book it again.

The place was immaculately clean. The bedrooms were as described, the 3rd bedroom with a double is very small for 2 adults.Positives:Very clean and very well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, pretty much everything you need. Great kitchen.Very nice and large bathrooms.Beautiful view of the river from the kitchen window and pretty view of pines from the back windows.Comfortable seating area in the living room. All in all a very nice place.The condo is the very bottom floor unit of 3 units in the building shown. That is hard to tell from the picture.

Everything you need.

Good location for Sugarbush ski vaca. Condo well-equipped w everything you need when you are away from home. Owners v communicative and helpful. Second time staying here. Would def stay again.

River Haus

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. The owner is very friendly & quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had. The bedding was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The view of the river was amazing!

Warm, well-stocked condo

Our family of six was very comfortable in this condo. There are detailed instructions and the condi was well stocked. You could tell that the condo was well cared for. We hope to be able to stay here again.

Relaxing riverfront stay

We had a great stay at the condo for the Mad Marathon weekend. It was spacious and well equipped with everything needed for a family getaway. It is a lovely, quiet riverfront location and runners enjoyed a dip in the river after a hot half marathon. The condo is only five minutes from Waitsfield so super convenient for groceries and restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect stay at the condo

Really nice property. Great location. Beautiful views from unit. Stayed with 3 children between ages of 3-7. Would absolutely stay again and highly recommend. The unit was exactly as expected based on the listing. Great communication with Birgit.

It was wonderful that I had the opportunity to host your young family. You are welcome anytime. Summer is especially enjoyable for children as they can go right down to the river, with their blow-up boats while mom and dad show of there stone skipping skills.

Sugarbush condo

We were pleased with the property . It is very convenient to Sugarbush skiiing. Everything was as described. There were plenty of pillows, sheets, blankets and towels. The host was easy to communicate with. I hope to return soon.

Fun in the Mad River Valley

We had an amazing weekend at the River House. The house is clean and well-stocked. The river is an amazing place to stay and Lawson's is a 5 minute drive away! Thanks Birgit for a giving us a place to make great memories.

Perfect base for a Sugarbush ski weekend

Clean, comfortable and functional -- exactly what we needed! We were two families traveling together with five children ages 5-9. The kids loved sleeping in the bunk beds. The adults appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. Everyone enjoyed the cozy fireplace, with plenty of wood on hand. Clear instructions and timely / helpful communication with owner.

Mad River Love!

We loved this VRBO and would definitely stay here again for the peace and quiet. We didn’t realize it was a condo at the end of 6 others, below 1. But it was a non-issue because I don’t think we heard anything other than the river sounds and ourselves. The river out back is awesome and so refreshing during the heat wave we caught. The house stayed cool enough with the use of the fans and we all slept great. We loved the quiet location, the river and everything else the VRBO had to make our stay wonderful. We’ll be back!

Nice place on the river

The place is incredibly organized and clean. It could use a little bit of updating, but we had everything we needed for a long weekend. I can’t express how clean it was. We have been renting in this area for years and was so pleasantly surprised when I saw not only how clean it was but all the cleaning supplies available. Beautiful view of the river and nice path down to access it. We did not realize it was a lower level place, but it as nice to be able to walk out to the yard.

Cozy weekend retreat

Great house and location! Very spacious and plenty of room for everyone. Friends and I stayed here for a ski weekend at Sugarbush. Place was cozy but the bedroom next to the kitchen did tend to be a little cooler than the rest of the house -but didn't mind that. Only drawback (bc nothing is perfect) is that there was no dishwasher and the drying rack was pretty small. Owner was quick to respond and very informative. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back! Looking forward to it.

It was a pleasure having you as a guest and I'm happy to hear your coming back. If you come back in the Winter do not forget to turn the thermostat on in that bedroom next to the kitchen. All bedrooms have their separate heater and thermostat. If it's Summer or Fall you'll be back, you will never want to miss another year being in the Valley.

A Wonderful Winter Month

My wife and I spent the month of February at the River House and fully enjoyed it. We enjoyed both downhill and cross country skiing while there. We had our daughter and her husband and 2 kids visit while we were there and it worked fine for the 6 of us. The 2nd bathroom and the and 3rd bedrooms are both small but adequate. Birgit, the owner, was very pleasant to work with and responded promptly to any questions we had. It was the most well stocked rental we've ever come across with enough paper products, laundry soap, spices, coffee filters, firewood, etc to last us the whole time we were there. We would definitely consider renting again.

You were fantastic guests. I can't praise you enough. I hardly had to clean. Wash was almost done. Superb guests such as you are most welcome back and I would like to extent a 10% discount on the fee anytime you return. Thank you for staying.

A great place by the river

We spent 4 days here just after Christmas, and the place is just as described and perfect for our party of 6. The fireplace is massive and lovely, and the place is set up and well-equipped; you can't beat those views of the river! The host was helpful and very responsive, and we would stay there again!

We have come to see the Mad River Valley as well as the ski mountain here as family friendly and original. It has its unique character. Definitely not just a ski town as so many others. Its one of the most beautiful places in Vermont up Route 100. The foliage always seems to look just a bit more perfect here. The property itself is perfectly situated for winter and summer enjoyment, because you want to be here summer, fall and winter.
