Perfect getaway

We loved our stay at this beautiful house right on the beach. We especially loved having our own private pool and not having to worry about driving to the beach and dragging all of our chairs and umbrellas. The house was clean and just as it was in the pictures! We would definitely stay here again!

Great house, great location

We had a wonderful visit, the beach location was perfect for morning walks. There were only 2 of us but this house would be perfect for a large family. The kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable. The location is close to the lighthouse and an easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this cottage and look forward to returning.

This property has it all!

This is probably the best property on St. Simons. The pool is fantastic and the beach is right behind the pools. Views of the ocean are everywhere! Kids will love their area. It's made like a submarine!

Thanksgiving at the beach

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time. The house was wonderful and had lots of interesting history. We wanted to stay in the pool the whole time :) it was wonderful. The owners provided everything we needed including beach towels and pool floats. We didn't want to leave! Would stay again!

Gorgeous place!

We really enjoyed this home. Very beautiful and clean! We like the location and the view.It was a little frustrating that to have the pool heated so we could swim would cost 75 per night. We didn’t find that out until after we booked.

What a Gem!!

We had a wonderful stay on St Simons and the beach house. The home is in a great location, it's clean, comfortable and beach is only 40' feet away. We would highly recommend this home as it made our long weekend very special. It's a real gem!!!

Perfect location in St Simon's

We loved our long weekend celebrating a big birthday in St Simon's. This beautiful home gave everyone space to spread out and space to be together. An easy stroll to shopping and amazing food. The rest of the island was fun to explore on our rental bikes. But best of all, with pool and beach just outside the door we didn't have to travel at all for good chats and afternoon naps. The house and property are exactly as described and one of our all time favorite VRBOs.

Perfect Family Beach Vacation

This property was even better than pictures. It was the perfect family beach vacation house. The decor was so cute! My sons loved the submarine themed loft. The pool was perfect and beach access was SO easy (super important with 3 young kids). The cleaning crew they have is 100 because the house was spotless when we arrived. Walking into town for dinner was such a plus. 5 stars and we plan to return.

Family Beach Vacation

The location is fantastic...steps to the beach and close to town. Loved the beautiful pool... perfect for all members of our family! Spacious room for our family, however, the furniture was soiled with wear and tear and could have been cleaned periodically throughout the season. The large kitchen/dining area was very nice. Response by owner and property manager was excellent and they took care of our requests immediately. We loved our first visit to St. Simons Island and hope to return!

Ms. Schuler, thanks for staying with us and glad you had a great time! I did want to clarify here as we discussed it when we came out to the house at your request to clean soiled furniture. The house is professionally cleaned, what you were asking about worn furniture was a distressed finish we had applied to the antique dresser we chose for one of the bedrooms. We strive to keep the house in "opening day ready" presentation for our guests, and have freshly decorated the house with furnishings that hint back to its 1930's origin and Naval history. There are hand selected items in the home that are meant to be old (or even made to look older than they are) to remind us of that history. Thanks again for staying with us and for your review!

Excellent location

House was clean and decorated beautifully. The location is excellent. The back door opens to the beach, and the Village (populated with restaurants and shops) is a quick 5-10 minute walk. I love the large windows with amazing ocean views. It was perfect for a family as everyone could make their own choice for the day, e.g., spend time on the beach, swim in the pool, walk to the Village, etc. Only point of note is all the properties are closely located on east beach, and this property is between two condos. The pool is lovely with amazing views but it is in view of the neighboring condos. That aspect didn’t bother us and didn’t impact us - but just noting it for future vacationers.

Great location and set up

We really enjoyed our stay and especially the location and being able to walk out the back door and be on the beach! Our family was thrilled with that as well as the location to the quaint downtown area. We would only recommend the Management Company be up to date on the specific items that were included in the house as we asked and bought lots of K-cups as we were told there was no traditional coffee pot but there were actually 2 there! I added to the inventory there when we left as we don't use those at home:) I was told there was no iron although there was an ironing board which seemed odd so I purchased a travel iron and low and behold there was one there. I will be returning.

Rustic experience

I knew we were staying in a historic home, but I was under the impression that certain areas like the kitchen and bathrooms were somewhat recently remodeled. It looked like they were maybe 20 years ago. The pictures of the kitchen make it look way nicer than it actually is. The main floor furniture was all pretty dirty. Most of the bedroom doors barely shut, much less lock. On a positive note, my teen son and his cousins who visited thought the kid’s area and loft were wonderful. The main reason we chose this place was for it’s perfect location on the beach and close distance to the Village. The location is excellent.

I did not want to leave!

I’ve been coming to SSI since I was a kid (I’m now in my 30s). This was by far the best place I’ve stayed on the island. It’s got to be one of the only single family home with a private ocean front pool. My kids swam for hours. If they weren’t in the pool, they were at the beach a few steps away. You can’t beat that. The house is walking distance from the Village/restaurants and also from the King and Prince area restaurants—pretty much an ideal location. Ryan is super attentive and an excellent communicator. Same for the management team. They checked in with us the day after we arrived to see if we needed anything. I hope to stay here every time I make it down to SSI. Thanks for a fabulous stay!”

Excellent location, beach access and private pool were outstanding, house needs repairs

The house had nice finishes and upgrades, but many things were in disrepair. Couch covers needed a wash. Coffee machine didn't work, pots were all burnt and well-worn, bedroom doors didn't close/lock, the main turn-off was the flooring. It was very worn and made constant noise when walking on. The entry way and front door to the house were very uninviting and unappealing (worn and dirty).

Thanks Bret! The flooring wasn't old, we'd chosen a natural wood floor species that didnt handle the humidity changes so close to the beach. We've since pulled that out and put in a new floor, and have replaced the kitchen items you mentioned. We're a brand new house from the 1930's!

If you have small children, this is your vacation rental!

We rented for a bachelorette weekend which this house was perfect for! Large open kitchen, nice size bedrooms, enough bathrooms and outlets for alllll the hairdryers and curling irons. I ended up having to take my one year old. Her and I were out on the beach by 730, without having to pack up the whole house! It took maybe 50-60 steps for our toes to be in the water. Perfect! This house also has a pool that in the late afternoon is COMPLETELY SHADED by the houses next door! Perfect for those small children that you have to wrestle with the sunscreen! Needless to say I will be rented this house again for just our family to take all of our kids! The location was great also! Walked to the pier everyday. I thoroughly enjoyed this house and all it’s perks.

Beautiful home , tastefully renovated , all the comforts of home!

Wonderful home just steps from the beach. Tastefully decorated and renovated . Very clean with all the space you will need for a large family or gathering. Updated kitchen and appliances and laundry. Owner has provided a very well stocked kitchen with silverware, dishes, pans etc. and also very nice linens (sheets and towels). Tv's and internet made it a great working vacation too. Great location, short distance to shops, restaurants, St. Simons lighthouse and museum. The sunsets are exceptional and people are so friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly community and beach. Additional public beach access just a few steps away. A new pool and deck were being finished when we were there and I am sure that space will be most enjoyable too! Short distance from Jekkyl Island too for a day trip. You wont be disappointed and we cant wait to come back. Very accommodating and great owner to work with as well. Cant wait to schedule another trip ! thank you for the great experience and memories.
