Butlers pantry. 10 burner garland chiefs stove . 2 fridges. 2 freezers. 2 restaurant Dishwashers that do a load of dishes in3 minutes! 2 clothes washers 2 dryers . 5 full baths one half bath . Patio /Veranda seats 20, chairs tables etc lighting with wrap around patio. 1 acre of land on Lakeview Ave . Solarium room seats 20 . large patio off the main living room. 5 fireplaces . This house has hosted celebrities and is the primer home in Jamestown NY Laundry in basement 2 washers 2 dryers . Retro turntable in 4 th bedroom! All cable channels. WiFi boosters throughout Mansion . It’s a great fun house. Completely private and secluded. You will be amazed !

5 bedrooms on the second floor and 4 full baths plus one more small bedroom and full bath on the 3rd floor. We also have a new inflatable queen mattress which inflates in minutes is full size and height and can be placed anywhere and it’s comfortable! Great for people who have trouble with steps or for large groups. There is also a full living room suite attached to the master bedroom. Seats 6 has a full couch which can sleep one person . cable TV and internet through out the house. 4 large smart TVs and excellent internet thru the house inside and out . I live in this house part time it’s my home it has everything you can want and it’s only the best because that’s what I prefer. Come enjoy the Sheldon House and you will have a great time.

We were so in love with the Sheldon House. It is beautiful, spacious, and has everything you might need. Cannot say enough about how beautiful and historic the home is.

Great Mansion

We were in town for family wedding. It was the perfect house with plenty of room for all 13 of us. The solarium was a great room for playing cards, games and relaxing after the days' events.

Stately home

This older but grand house was a delight to inhabit for our annual sibling retreat. We're all about hanging out together, cooking and eating and playing, and this was spacious and well-equipped. The weather was rainy and cool, but we had so much space to play games, watch movies, and relax that we didn't mind!

Short but sweet

Our group was in town for a funeral. We stayed just for the weekend. The home was the perfect place to gather as a group, with ample separate space to sleep and get ready for the various events. Ed was wonderful to work with and things could not have gone more smoothly. I highly recommend Sheldon House as a wo derful place to stay in Jamestown.

Hilary and her family were perfect guests we could hardly tell they were there . They we absolutely no problem and left the house in great shape! Communication was excellent and it was a very pleasant experience having them as guests. They are welcome to come back anytime!

Four days of peaceful greatness......

My husband, five friends, and myself shared this amazing space for four days. You can feel the great energy as soon as you walk in the door. The home is even more beautiful and spacious than the photos portray. Ed was very easy to get a hold of and graciously gave us local suggestions on restaurants. We hope to stay there again and make more memories. ♡

Amazing Home, Amazing Vacation

When we booked the trip, we knew we were getting a nice place to stay, but didn't realize how amazing and historic this house would be. Ed was an amazing host - contactless entry, available by phone/text anytime, and always available to answer questions. The house was immaculate and so much fun to explore. 11 of us stayed in the house, and at no time did we feel like we were crowding each other. There was plenty of space to play, relax, eat, and enjoy each other's company. Easily the best family vacations we've had in years, and we will certainly be back again!

Sheldon House

Beautiful property. Convenient location. A lot of extras you wouldn’t think about until you need them. Perfect house for a group. House is fully accessible. The host was very accommodating to our needs prior to arrival. After staying at hotels downtown for several years, our group took a chance on accommodations that was farther away from the downtown area and it exceeded our expectations in convenience, pricing and overall experience.

Amazing house!

The house was perfect for our group and communication with Edward was amazing! You can tell he is very passionate about the house and takes great care of the house! There is so much history in this house and he is so knowledgeable and willing to share everything he knows about the house! There was even a whole packet that he has been working on that we could read to learn more about the house! This house is huge and fit our group perfectly! Would definitely return again!

Mansion with character

This is a renovated mansion in an older neighborhood in Jamestown. Ed was very attentive and accommodating. The house itself was huge and can handle very large groups. The grounds and landscaping could use some work. It was a very hot week, and there were several AC window units. We were comfortable, though some rooms were very warm. The neighborhood was once grand and now is economically diverse (like most of Jamestown). The property is about ten minutes from Chautauqua Lake, about 15 minutes from Bemus Point. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Very Special COVID Family Thanksgiving

We had a very wonderful and memorable stay at the Shelby House. We had a small family group who came together for Thanksgiving and enjoyed the space, the beauty, and the history of the home. My sister and I love to cook and had lots of fun with the Garland Range. The fabulous Butlers Pantry became a source of fun as we explored ways to set our tables and display our food in a special way. And my husband wants a 3 minute Wonder dishwasher like the one there :). The dining room holds the grandeur of the early 1900s making each meal special. The bedrooms and sitting rooms are lovely and you can't forget to explore the Maid's quarters in the attic. Eddie is a gracious host and willing to help in any way. We look forward to a return visit!

A great find for a family reunion

This house was built for a wealthy family and their staff, and it shows in the layout, with several very large bedrooms and a few smaller ones too. The kitchen is tucked away from the rest of the house, but has everything you need for cooking for a crowd. We baked bread, roasts, and at one point had at least 5 of the 10 burners going on the top. When we arrived, the windchill was -30 and I think it may have been one of the coldest days on record. The lockbox froze but Ed was super supportive in helping us get into the house even though he was out of town himself. Even with ~100 degree difference between the outside air and that inside, the house stayed warm. We were grateful for its size because the blizzard basically kept us inside for two days and there was still lots to explore. If you’re looking for a sizeable property to gather a bunch of people, which has lots of character and space, this is an excellent find. And Ed couldn’t be more helpful, always ready to make sure we had all we needed. The only deduction for cleanliness is that I think several of us had our dust allergies kick up a bit. There are so many nooks and crannies that I imagine the cleaners just hadn’t gotten around to a deep clean of our room in a while, but this is an issue easily fixed.

Sam and his family were great guests we had a few unexpected problems with the blizzard but I got it all straightened out and they were very good about it. Communication was great and it was a pleasure to talk with them. As to the allergies problem he sighted I believe that was due to the guests that had stayed 2 days before Sam came . The other guests had a cat and I believe the cat dander caused their allergies. Sorry about that I need to reconsider cats because that was the first cat that ever stayed. Anyway we will be sure to deep clean just incase. Sam and his family are welcome to come back anytime. They did a great job putting up the Christmas tree too! Happy Holidays and thanks again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Sheldon House in Jamestown, NY. This home is a beautiful, interesting treasure, plus it is comfortable and clean. It has everything you need and more!The surrounding area has a lot to explore. Our grandsons (8 & 12) loved getting out and seeing new places. The National Comedy Center, Bemus Point, the Panama rocks, a trip to Lake Erie shore and the Tarp Skunks baseball game were all highlights of the trip. Staying here made it fun, memorable, and easy.Most of all, the host was exceedingly gracious and helpful. He made us feel at home from the very beginning, provided great guidance, and helped us settle in so we could focus on enjoying the trip. We’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it to other families.

We were in town for a family wedding and needed a gathering place for family. This home met every single need and exceeded expectations. We are also a family of history geeks, so enjoyed a chance to stay at one of Jamestown’s historic grand old homes. The kitchen and dining spaces were perfectly setup for feeding a crowd. The 10-burner stove was a dream to use! There was also plenty of dishes, etc. (all glass/china). Edward was very responsive to my many questions. And spent a lot of time with us at checkin and giving a extensive tour. We would definitely rent here again.

Beautiful Spacious Home

We enjoyed a week long family reunion at the Sheldon House. We had 13 people and we really appreciated the spacious living room, dining room and solarium. There was plenty of space for the children to play and for the adults to break off to talk or read. The bedrooms and bedding were very comfortable. While the home is stunning it is also very warm and inviting. Ed was a terrific host . . . checking in, responding quickly and offering recommendations. Nothing but good things to say about the property and the host. Thank you!

Tad and his family were perfect guests! I could tell from the moment I spoke to Tad that I would have nothing to worry about. Communication was excellent and they followed all my instructions and they enjoyed and appreciated my home . They are welcome to come back anytime. They left the house in great shape and it was a pleasure to host them over the New Years . Thanks for being such great guests!
