Hi, We’re always working to improve our renters’ experience so thank you for the feedback. Again, sorry your guests had problems handling the July heat. To potential renters: The listing clearly states the house has no AC. Like many lake houses, the house was built with no AC. Our family has been spending whole summers up there since 2000 and have never had challenges with summer temperatures with the lake being nearby. If your guests have special medical needs or are particularly challenged by summer temperatures, I would advise finding a house with AC. We had terrible luck with the washer machine breaking during this rental. We were at the house within 12 hrs (on the morning of 4th of July) to address the issue. The washer has since been replaced. It is challenging for an empty fridge to chill a week’s worth of food and room temperature beverages. Coolers and ice have been made available to renters so that beverages may be chilled in coolers and food items may go in the fridge. This way, the fridge gets back down to temperature as quickly as possible and your beverages are now portable!

Hello Susan, thanks for the feedback! The carpets are steam cleaned each season and vacuumed after each rental, so rest assured they are sanitary. I do agree that the years have worn on them. We plan to replace the carpets with flooring this fall. We hope to host you again in the future so that you can see the upgrade! Thank you to your and your family for being great guests.
