Fish Tails Cottage is located in downtown Morehead City, just a short walk to the waterfront resturants, bars, and shopping. Only 5 minute drive to the beach ad Historic Beaufort.
This 2 bedroom cottage was built in 1939 and is renovated and has all you need for a relaxed stay in the heart of Morehead City. Enjoy the coffee bar, or an evening grilling and relaxing on the screened in porch.
Three night minimum stay.

Ask about Fall weekly pricing. Perfect for working remotely and families with children doing remote schooling to enjoy a trip to the coast.

Excellent location—walking distance to restaurants and quick drive to the beach. Loved the screened-in porch. One window unit air conditioner can cool the living room and front bedroom, and the other bedroom has its own window air conditioner. Kitchen was a little warm. Would definitely stay here again. Only drawback was you have to pass through one bedroom to get to bathroom.

We enjoyed staying at Fish Tales Cottage. Perfect size for our family of 3 with a true cottage feel. A great location for access to the coast/island and north to New Bern.

Nice getaway!

This was a great space for a weekend getaway. Its a small cottage that works best for a family! Close proximity to playgrounds and the waterfront. The neighbors were nice and was just what we needed!

Wonderful in every way for family and friends

A special vacation celebrating a birthday with family and friends in a prefect setting and location. The house was cozy, nicely decorated and comfortable with a connection to historic Carteret County. It is conveniently located a short walk from the waterfront. Hard to imagine a more ideal cottage for us.

Perfect for us!

We needed a place to stay for a last minute fishing trip, and "Fish Tails" was everything we needed and more. It is very convenient to the Morehead City waterfront, local restaurants, etc. The cottage is very nicely appointented and maintained. We go down several times a year to go fishing, and this is now our first choice for future trips!

Super awesome cottage.

Small nicely decorated beach cottage. With owners easy to communicate with and ready to answer any questions along the way. We overslept and texted the owners to request a few more minutes to check out and they put no pressure on us. Giving us the time to not feel rushed in the morning to check out. Was an awesome stay.

Fish Tails Cottage

The cottage is quite comfortable and very quaint. One bedroom opens up to the living room, and does not have a door. Just something to keep in mind. Otherwise, the neighborhood is very quiet, very close to the beach, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

not close to what we imagined.

no central a/c -very bad location - look at the pictures of the front porch, step and veiw directly across the street. Wow. look. House is not horrible it is 100 years old. I feel like we were unfairly sold the booking. I asked to leave 10 minutes after we arrived and was told no. I felt like I was in a no win situation. VRBO is good but how do u deal with a situation when someone hates the house. The spot is bad. The smell on the front porch was so strong u would gag coming in. look at the pic's

Notice that positive reviews and the photos for this home are several years old. It may have been in good condition a few years ago, but not anymore. The bathroom was fairly clean, but the rest of the house needs a good scrubbing. The kitchen and the carpet throughout the home were dirty. I realize it’s an older home, but it is just not clean. I tried to vacuum the carpet with the OLD vacuum cleaner in the closet but it had very little suction which explains the state of the carpet. The linens on the bed seem clean, but there is no mattress protector. The only thing between you and an old mattress is a thin sheet. Also, the washing machine had mold in it, and the refrigerator handle was kind of gross. The inside of the refrigerator was clean though and the window AC units did keep the home cool. I definitely feel that the photos are not a good representation of the state of the home.

Very fun.

Cute cottage. Not much privacy, so stay there with people with whom you are comfortable. Nice little kitchen. The big dining room table handled meals and games well. Both the front and back porches were pleasant. It is a quick walk to the restaurants and shops on the waterfront. The host was communicative and had good suggestions for us. We had a very fun stay.

Cute, quaint, centrally located

We loved everything about this property. The owner met us at the house and it was so nice having someone who knows the area meet and greet you. They gave us some suggestions on where to go eat (which were really good) and even took time to check on us our 2nd day. The house is central to so many places so don’t just limit your time at Atlantic beach. The neighborhood looks like it’s more year round residences vs weekly rentals and the neighbors were friendly. Will definitely stay there again.

Noisy air conditioner

Would not have rented had I seen it didn't have central air. However, it would have been fine if the unit in the small bedroom wasn't so loud! It was impossible to sleep with it on! Needs replacement!!
