The space

Cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom private house in the heart of historic Sailboat Bend community. This beautiful home sleeps 5 (extra bed available upon request) and offers a fully stocked kitchen including a Keurig Coffee Machine, cookware, silverware, full sized washer and dryer. It’s your home away from home conveniently located close to I95 and 595.

Private keypad entrance. Backyard patio with seating area, private driveway with parking for up to 5 cars.

Video Surveillance: – The Property has security cameras placed in the front deck/parking lot area. This video footage is not shared and is recorded for liability reasons in the cases of a break-in, death, injury, guests sneaking in pets, guests disregarding the maximum occupancy allowed, and in no way infringes upon the guests’ expectations of privacy in these public areas of the property. Any attempt at disabling or obscuring the cameras is prohibited and may result in the guest being evicted without refund. The full deposit will be forfeited if any of the above are found. You will also be asked to leave the property immediately without any money returned.

Great location. Stayed with my dog. Everything was just as advertised. Fun nice neighborhood. The host is a really nice guy. Would like to stay again.

The perfect chill stay

I loved Lisa & Craig’s home. My mom is in a wheelchair & she was able to roam freely around with no issues. The beds were comfortable and everything looked as it does in the photos. The location was convenient and the home itself was tucked away with a fenced backyard, perfect for privacy. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

The perfect stay with amazing amenities!

Judy's home made our stay that much more enjoyable! The house was just as pictured and described. She was very communicative leading up to our stay as well as during, and went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. I've stayed in a lot of rentals, and Judy by far offered the most amazing amenities...everything you could possibly want or need during your stay was provided. She is SO thoughtful!! The snacks and wine were much appreciated :) I would DEF recommend staying here!

Hi David, I am sorry you felt that the listing was misleading. The images shared and description are exact. The listing is described as a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment. I do not know how big would you expect the bathroom to be.

Good overall experience, property needs improvements

Perfect size for a small family. Our dog enjoyed having a fully fenced yard. Proximity to parks, restaurants, and everything downtown was ideal. There is one issue with this property- the air quality. The mini split in the kitchen works fine, but each bedroom has a wall AC, both of which are full of mold. We brought an air purifier, and it read 79%, so not good. The house has a moldy smell as well. Other than that, we had a good time.

Retreat from this “retreat”

The photos posted do not match how the property actually looks. I was extremely disappointed. I never actually stayed in the house it was so bad. I had to find a hotel which was such an inconvenience because it was spring break. I will never book another home on VRBO. Everyone’s level of cleanliness is NOT the same. The house smelled really bad, the ceiling in the kitchen is crumbling, it’s not a house but a duplex, the bathroom tub was horrible and so was the mat, the couches were very soiled and not clean at all. It appears that anyone posts anything just to make a quick buck now days. I’m not sure who reviewed this house and said it was clean but that scares me. I’m ex military so I’m very meticulous. The host gave me a hard time when I told him there was no way I could stay there. It smelled of mold and animal which I’m extremely allergic to. NEVER AGAIN.

Megan, respectfully you did not even stay long enough for your complaints to even have an validity. The name on the account and the person I sent the welcome message to via SMS were two different people. When you addressed the concerns via SMS and not on the platform I gave you options, and that option was to contact VRBO since you were dissatisfied. I contacted VRBO and addressed both yours and my concerns. My reviews are all organic. The couch was not stained. Yes it is a duplex hence why in the description it says apartment. Your reading and comprehension skills need a tune up. The place smells of air freshners and not mold. And since you’re ex-military and so “meticulous” understand that this is not a military base amd if that is what you’re looking for then I suggest you stay at a military base. AND I NEVER GAVE YOU A HARD TIME. I have screenshots of the text message and the phone call with VRBO is recorded. Surprising behavior from ex-military. Self reflection is needed on your end.

Perfect for a quick getaway

Lesa's Retreat was exactly as advertised. We read reviews that the neighborhood could be noisy but we did not experience this at all. The only noise we experienced were some noisy neighbors staying in the adjoining home. The home was extremely clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this property.

The fresh scent and overall cleanliness upon first entry were very exceptional. The neighborhood and location to hot spots were also great. Would definitely recommend this home as a getaway.

Great stay!!

This is a great property and was perfect for a friends trip! There are accommodations for 5 and the beds were extremely comfortable and robes were provided which we loved! There are a lot of places that are walking distance which is great and we spent a lot of time on the back patio. Everything was stocked in the kitchen which was helpful as well. Also - the pictures that are provided are exactly what you will get! Definitely would recommend to anyone!

Bestie Weekend Getaway

Lesa's Retreat is perfectly titled for what it is - a retreat. Once you are in/on the property, nothing else matters. The energy was very positive and I got some exquisite rest during my stay. Restaurants, bars, day/night life are all within walking distance (ie: The Riverwalk, The Wharf, Las Olas) and access to any stores (Walmart, Whole Foods) you may need is a short drive away. We highly recommend Dania Beach - remember to take a beach umbrella! Craig was very responsive with all of our requests. Our only complaint is that our vacation ended too soon! We were already talking about our next stay at Lesa's Retreat before we left! You will not be disappointed!

Work made easy

Rented this unit for a week while me and my three guys renovated a condo in sunrise. This unit housed the 4 of us with no issue . one my guys is old grumpy dude who smokes was interesting to see the rules no smoking on premiums . the fridge is not that cold we just bought ice and made it work . other wise the master bed is amazing and very comfy saved me alot of money and aggravation staying here ill be bk .

Perfect Little Home!

This place was a perfect little home for me and my friends! It is nicely excluded from the main roads but walking distance to a couple restaurants and night life locations. The beach was only about a 5-10 minute ride and is really close to anything in Fort Lauderdale area. The house was super cute and very neat! They supplied a lot of essentials and a grill that worked perfectly! I get super comfortable calling or contacting the owners and we’re super easy to talk to and to connect. Overall perfect place to stay and loved every minute of it!

Cute Place

While the house is very clean, smells great and is comfortable, it was challenging staying here. The temperatures had dropped into the 40's our first nights stay, the 50's our second night and the heater did not work. Thankfully there were plenty of blankets but still it was a rather sleepless trip due to the cold weather. The AC worked just fine and was running when we checked in. The bath tub drain is exceedingly slow which required me to shut the water off during my shower to let the water drain away so I could have clean feet. Not the most ideal way to take a shower when the house is cold because the heat is not working. We also discovered quite rudely that the chaise in the living room is broken. The wall is propping up the back as it will not stay up on its own. Be careful! Also if you are used to peace and quiet in your own neighborhood, you will find this neighborhood quite noisy. You can hear practically everything outside due to very thin windows. The street is busy, there is a police station close by, the train runs close by, you can hear music at night, conversation from neighbors, etc.

Hello Tanie, We do apologize that your stay with us did not measure up to your expectations. We have taken note of your concerns and we have addressed the issues within our control. In our welcome packet, both online and within the unit, we did address that the street can be quite active. A point you may have missed, however we did address with you and we will continue to advise our future guests of it. The chaise is a perfectly working chaise, which has different settings for comfort, placed against the wall for decoration, furniture is not known to be "rude". As stated before we have addressed the concerns you have addressed in your review, those that are within our control. We are open to hosting you again in the future, and if that is not what you prefer, we wish the best in your search for accommodations that will suit your needs.
