Nestled in the serene mountains, this sprawling 4-bedroom cabin unfolds over a generous 3000 square feet, inviting you and your friends or family to indulge in a refuge of comfort and lavishes. Picture this: you step in to revel in a living room so majestically designed that, as you sink into the plush, oversized sofas, and gaze upon the flickering flames within the captivating local stone fireplace, time itself seems to pause. The large-screen TV stands ready to show your favorite movies or your cherished weekend games while you sip on cocktails crafted at the 15-foot-long decorated wet bar – the heart of your soiree.

As the sun dips and the stars weave their tapestry above the mountains, laughter spills out from the heated bubbles of the six-person hot tub, complementing the radiant glow that surrounds The Gelk. You'll find that every corner of this cabin has its own story to tell; from the rustic charm of the wooden beams overhead to the culinary adventures you can create in a full, spacious kitchen that begs for gourmet gatherings. With accommodations for up to eight people, The Gelk guarantees that every escapade will be wrapped in warmth, elegance, and those enchanting memories that linger long after your stay. Gelk is located next door to ​​​​​​​Angulo and a few doors down from A Great Mountain Pleasure for larger group accommodations.

Ruidoso, Alto, and surrounding areas: Submerse yourself within the towering pines of Lincoln County and watch local wildlife such as elk, deer, wild horses, turkey, birds, and more in their natural habitats. Plan a day basking in the stillness of our national forest while hiking, biking, or fishing, golfing at one of our multiple golf courses or spend a fun night out on the town at one of the area's local attractions! Be sure to swim or fish at the beautiful Grindstone or Alto Lake, delight your senses at Winter Park with roller coaster and tubing, and explore the ski slopes and hiking trails throughout Ski Apache. Win big at one of our three local casinos and enjoy the excitement of live quarter horse racing at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack. Be happy you took a respite from the concrete jungle. Please Note: As an Alto Country Club property, strict parking rules apply. There can only be 4 cars (1 car per bedroom). There are no exceptions including no RVs, trailers, or ATVs. If violated, excess guests will be asked to leave and the reservation holder may lose their reservation and/or deposit.

Please Note: This home is dog-friendly with a limit of 3 dogs. A pet fee of $50.00 (plus tax) per pet applies. Please let us know if you'll be bringing your furry friend so we can make the necessary arrangements. For their safety and comfort, pets are required to be kenneled when left alone in all of our pet-friendly cabins.

Please Read: Hummingbird Cabins, LLC is the host and who will provide customer service after you've booked your rental home through VRBO. Therefore, be advised that our cancellation policy, in-house policies, and procedures may differ from VRBO. All guests will receive our Guest License Agreement that outlines our policies and procedures and are asked to initial and e-sign before receiving their rental information (address and access code). We ask that you please read our policies as we will adhere to them once you've booked your reservation with us (even when booking through a 3rd party entity).

The fine print, what to expect: Our cabins include basic cable, satellite or streaming television, basic cooking utensils, propane gas grill (propane provided), washer and dryer (if applicable- please look at the amenities), towels and bed linens for guest use along with heating for winter. Our homes come equipped with either a drip or Keurig coffee maker. *Linens and bath towels *Extra blankets and bedding *Spa towels for properties with spas/hot tubs. While our kitchens are fully equipped with glassware/cookware/utensils/dishes, etc. this does not ensure that all homes will have a blender, crock pot, spices, coffee, or condiments. Please call ahead to confirm if items such as these are available. If not, we ask that you bring your own. Basic toiletries in the Master bathroom only are: *One (1) travel-sized each of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, disposable toothbrush, toothpaste, bar soap, and facial bar soap, *three (3) rolls of toilet paper; one (1) on the holder and two (2) stored in the bathroom. Basic toiletries in all additional bathrooms (if applicable) are: *three (3) rolls of toilet paper; one (1) on the holder and two (2) stored in the bathroom, *one (1) travel-sized bar soap and/or facial soap, *one (1) hairdryer in the home. Basic supplies in the home: *five (5) All-Clear laundry pods, *dish detergent in pod or liquid form (quantities may vary and/or be limited), and three (3) Lemi Shine rinse agent in single-use cups (for homes with dishwashers), *liquid dish soap in (at minimum) a partial container (may only be in homes without dishwashers- check amenities to ensure the home you booked has a dishwasher), *two to three (2-3) rolls of paper towels, *two (2) trash liners in each waste basket; one (1) prepared in a basket and at least one (1) in the bottom or under the sink. We encourage guests to please be mindful of the supplies we provide and always bring extras as housekeeping does not deliver more than what is required to be left in the homes. We highly encourage guests to be prepared with access to chains and/or 4-wheel drive in winter months. Firewood is not provided for homes with wood burning fireplaces.
