Unwind in Gulf Shores at this charming, two-bedroom, beachfront getaway featuring a full kitchen, a spacious patio with Gulf views, and a number of resort-style amenities including a shared indoor, saltwater pool, outdoor pool, hot tubs, sports courts, and a fitness room.

Walk out on the private boardwalk to the adjacent white sand beach for days of sunbathing and swimming. Bring your clubs and challenge the 18-hole course at Kiva Dunes, located right around the corner from this vacation rental. Or get up close to nature at the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge or Gulf State Park, both within easy driving distance.

THINGS TO KNOW
Guests must buy parking passes online before their stay, and up to two will be allotted. Details on how to purchase will be provided after booking. The fee schedule is $25 (1-3 nights), $35 (4-6 nights), $45 (7-14 nights), and $60 (15+ nights).
Complimentary beach chairs and umbrella are provided on the beach for your convenience and pleasure by the owner.
This property is managed by Vacasa Alabama, LLC.

Parking notes: There is parking available for a fee and charges will apply for 2 vehicles.
This rental is located on floor 1.



Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Right on the beach and clean!

Clean and well maintained, the bed was hard as a rock and the pillow felt like a sandbag but, fortunately I am use to that!

Great Location!

We had a great time at The Mermaid Pad. The condo is stocked with everything your family will need. The pool and beach are literally right outside your door! The patio has a nice view of the ocean, as well.

2023 Spring Break Vacation

Wonderful experience again. This is second year we have stayed in this location. Easy access to beach. Quiet and friendly setting.

Very nice unit and great amenities

Very clean and nice unit. Lots of space. Pools very nice. Hot tubs relaxing. On site restaurant was good. Great location to the beach. Kitchen hot water didn’t get hot but didn’t affect anything. Beds comfortable. Kitchen had everything needed to make meals and lots of dishes. Overall great vacation.

Great place for family vacation

Access to private beach. Very nice condo. Parking registration needs some work as we had to pay twice! I left my cell phone at home and couldn't proof that I paid already and guard didn't have this information.

Minor issues, but would 100% stay again

We really enjoyed our stay here. This condo is the front corner unit that faces the beach. There is a board walk to the beach and several clean refreshing pools just steps away. Things we liked: proximity to beach and pools. The kitchen had lots of pots and pans and utensils and plenty of spices (though the pepper was empty). we felt like we could spread out here and not be on top of each other. The showers worked great with ample hot water. The place was very clean upon entering (with the exception of some grapes my toddler found under the couch, and some bedding that smelled a little musty). Things that could be improved: the king bed was overly firm, the tv in the living room is "smart" but terribly slow, we were only given enough dish washer soap for 2 loads and they would not give us more. Overall, my complaints are minor and I would for sure stay here again. There was also coin laundry and a delicious but pricey restaurant nearby.

Last Minute Perfection

Hurricane Helene cancelled our Florida vacation for us, so we decided to try to find the perfect place in Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan on just a week’s notice. Miraculously, the Mermaid Pad was available! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, comfortable, and clean place to stay. This condo has everything you need to make your vacation relaxing and memorable. The view of the Gulf, the big patio, and the proximity of the pools and Sassy Bass simply added to the perfection of our week. The only downside for my husband and brother was that the fish weren’t biting. Maybe next time. And, there will be a next time. We’ve already booked for next year!

Chooses Another Booking Site

Beach location great, but I would not use Vacasa again. Spent 2 days having maintenance repairs in condo rented, never give notice. I though I was renting condo, not sharing it with maintenance updates and workers for home owners. Was also told 1 parking pass included and charges 25.00 to park. Condo site will not assist are very mean and no local office to help. All done by phone with vacasa, can have long hold times looking for help.

Perfect place to unwind.

Enjoyed our stay!! Ground level and steps from the board walk was ideal for our family of 5. Access to the pools were great. Plan on returning next year if the husband will "let" me!! Some tips for others: IF you need an iron - bring one; drink coffee - bring filters. Our family needed extra toliet paper, paper towels and garbage bags! But..we have three boys! Also, thanks for supplying a first aid kit - that 5 year old of mine needed it.

Plantation West #1131

So glad to be back at the Gulf. The pictures on the site accurately represent the unit; very nice with a great view with the dunes merely feet from the patio. We've vacationed at the Plantation multiple times over the past decade and will definitely rent this unit again.

Great family trip

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in 1131 last week and are sad it came to an end! You can’t get any closer to the beach than this condo. We had 4 adults and 3 kids under 3 years old, so this ground-floor unit saved us a lot of hassle. Between the close beach access, multiple pools, restaurant, laundry facilities, ice machine, Dollar General right up the road, and all the other amenities, it made our stay stress free. There wasn’t much info on the kitchen in the listing, but it was setup very well and had everything we needed to cook several meals throughout the week. We hope to be back soon!

On the Dunes!

The ground-floor condo is situated right on the dunes overlooking the gulf. The patio lets you enjoy a kind of privacy not usually found. Close to the beach, comfortable, cozy, and clean describes the condo itself. This is my favorite place to stay!

Great location

Great location. Loved being able to walk right outside the door to the beach. A suggestion that I’d make would be to update the listing to let renters know that there is a hairdryer, a drip coffee maker and Keurig coffee maker etc. I always appreciate knowing exactly what’s there to help with packing.

Golf retreat

I really liked it was very nice, great location. Very nice aesthetics. Warm colors with a beachy feel. Loved having a Keurig for morning coffee. Areas that could use improvement: The front door lock didn't function properly. Advertised indoor hot-tubs, which were not functioning. Small lawn filled with sand-burs that caused injury, no warnings posted. Only two wash-cloths per bathroom for a one week stay.

Perfect place to be on the beach!!!

We could see the waves beating up on the beach from both the living room and dining area. The place was very clean. 'Loved being on the ground level--no stairs to climb. 'Convenient parking. Spacious, very clean indoor pool. Wonderful tennis & basketball courts!
