Look no further for the perfect vacation home in downtown Elk Rapids! This beautiful and spacious rental sleeps up to 10 and is only 2 blocks from the heart of Elk Rapids. Enjoy all the charm Elk Rapids has to offer by simply walking out the door! Stroll to downtown sandy beaches, tennis courts, restaurants and more. Enjoy downtown festivals, craft fairs and farmers markets in the Summer! Have a boat? Lake Michigan, Elk and Torch Lakes are just a short drive away. All have public launches and the house has space for boat parking. As the weather gets cooler, enjoy the Fall color tours, wineries, skiing and snowmobile trails nearby. Elk Rapids is always a nice retreat after a long day on the ski hill or visiting Traverse City. This home features 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a large kitchen and dinning area. The master bedroom is quite large and has itā€™s own bathroom. Other important amenities include: central air, heating, washer and dryer, linens/towels, spacious front porch. We also include bikes and kayaks for your enjoyment free of charge.

Perfect week!

We came as two families with kids, teens, and adults. The home is clean, comfortable, and has plenty of places for small groups to hang out and chat or play games. The location is perfect - on a quiet street and easily walkable to the beach, downtown, and the marina. Highly recommend!

Family lake vacation

We have been coming to Elk Rapids for our summer vacations as a family all of our lives. We have had the pleasure of staying in a number of rentals around the village and this was without a doubt one of the best. The location, amenities, and cleanliness of the house made our stay one of our favorites in memory. Communicating with the owners was prompt and easy. We hope to have the opportunity to stay in the Beach Barn again in the future.

Michigan trip-Elk Rapids

Our family Michigan trip was so much fun! We walked to the beach with our grandchildren almost daily. Nice playground and beach area for playing. We used the wagon provided by the owners. The kayak was a plus! We visited Mackinaw Island, it was about 1.5 hour drive. We went to Charlevoix for a day trip. We visited an Alpaca farm in Traverse City. We rented a pontoon boat and tubing at Torch Lake -beautiful lake! We picked cherries at an orchard not far from the house. Two of our family members did a fishing trip. I did some rock hunting at the Art in the Park beach area. It was a fun filled packed week. The house is in a great location. Elk Rapids town area is quaint and walking distance to restaurants, quaint shops and ice cream. I recommend the area and home.

This was a beautiful place to stay, convenient to walk to the town or beach, great for kids and adults. Easy check-in, owner responsive and checked to make sure everything was good. House was spotless and exactly as advertised. Will definitely be coming back.

great beach house for grandkids

Justin's home was perfect for grown family and grandkids! Everything is there - I clearly brought too much kitchen stuff because the kitchen is fully loaded. The bedrooms are great and the area for play for grandkids is perfect. Love the upstairs hidden playroom. Very short 2 blocks to either beach or town. Comfortable beds. We had perfect weather. One of the best up north beaches with a playground the kids loved. Didn't have time to use the kayak or paddle board - that's for next time. Thank you!

Beach Barn - perfect for two families with kids

We had a wonderful time during our week up north, during our first try at a friends-with-kids vacation. The owner had excellent communication via text and met all of our needs while we were there. The location was perfect, equidistant to the beach and "downtown" Elk Rapids, with less than a 5 minute walk (2-3 blocks) either way. The paddleboard, kayaks, and bikes included were high quality, and allowed us to bring our young kids (1-4 yo) along for a first "boat ride" or two on the river, while always holding on tight. The kayaks and paddleboard were walkable with us to the beach, carried by one or two people or transported on top of our soft beach wagon. The bikes were sturdy enough to carry a bike stroller with us. The Shorts Pull Barn with its giant sandbox was frequented (my new favorite is the Juicy Brut, and we were lucky to have a classic, The Magician, on tap as well). We loved the setup inside the Beach Barn, with enough separation and space that the families could have quiet time getting the kids to bed (the walls were thick even with music) and then reunite in the fresh looking new kitchen (beautiful updates). We only wish we could have stayed longer, as the week went by in a flash. When asking our 4 year old whether he would rather go back to Elk Rapids or Florida (our other most recent vacation), he said "Elk Rapids"! So proud - a Pure Michigander.

Elk Rapids holds a special place in our hearts and has for decades. We purchased this home because we loved it -- it's charm, comfort and location that allows for walking almost anywhere, even with kids. Our goal is to spend as much time in ER as possible and allow others to have the experience we enjoy so much when we're not able to be there.
