Goose Rocks Cottage at One Long Beach is the perfect size for a small family or couple(s) looking to be located near the heart of downtown York Beach! This modern, fully renovated home features central air conditioning, granite countertops, tile and hardwood flooring throughout. Sip coffee from your Adirondack chairs on the porch or grill out for your evening meals.
Just yards away, Short Sands Beach and downtown York Beach Village offers a sandy beach, quaint shops, ice cream, restaurants, entertainment and more--perfect for the young at heart! Looking to adventure beyond Short Sands? We are located less than 1/4 mile from Long Sands Beach, a short walk to the Nubble Lighthouse and a short bike ride to York Village.
Goose Rocks Cottage is one of five One Long Beach Properties that are all located at the One Long Beach address. The other rental homes available for rent at this address are: Heron Neck Cottage, Owls Head Cottage, The Carriage House and The Main House. In addition, we have two additional ocean front properties located down the street, the Sea View and the Sand and Surf.

Great beach getaway

We enjoyed this lovely home and its proximity to Short Sands and great restaurants, coffee shops, the Arcade and York’s Magic Kingdom. Great family getaway.

Clean modern cottage, perfect location

This cottage is spotlessly clean, very modern, light and airy. Even though this is a densely-built area, it was remarkably quiet at night. The beds are very comfortable, and the sizes of the rooms are generous, especially the first floor master. The small yard is adorable and was plenty of room for the kids to run around a bit and for us to enjoy a few meals outside on the picnic table. Just a few steps out the door gets you to the playground and beach at Short Sands, the zoo and amusement park are a 5-10 minute walk. We could even see a sliver of the ocean out the master bedroom window! Ed met us at the cottage to be sure we had everything, and when we did call with an issue he was on the scene in just minutes and fixed it right away. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishes and a dishwasher. There was a huge stack of plastic-ware that was perfect for the kids as well. You can see from the pictures that the kitchen is pretty small, so probably best if you are into simple meals and/or dining out and storing leftovers in the fridge. (Note: this is not the type of place that has a load of spices and cooking essentials in the cupboards) If you are in serious need of an Internet connection, be aware that the WiFi is pretty spotty, but we did find that hard-wiring into the Ethernet jacks (available in every room, with a cable in the bin above the fridge) sped things up quite a bit. We hooked up our apple TV in the living room and were all set for entertainment. The Verizon service was great here, with no problems. (Note: there are a very few books, one puzzle, and one board game on hand). Overall this was a great space and we would highly recommend it.

Great Location

Great location. Walking distance to everything. It's great if you have kids. You can walk to the beach, playground and the zoo.

Perfect location!

My husband and I brought our one year old daughter to Maine for the first time and stayed at this property for a few nights. It was the perfect location and we were able to walk to most places or take short drives! The house was exactly as pictured online and even bigger than we needed for the 3 of us. The host was super responsive and accommodating. Hope to return someday!

Well Maintained Property

The cottage is clean, comfortable, and roomy. The property is well maintained and managed in that any issues are addressed quickly and the reservation process is easily done over the Internet. The rental contract terms & conditions are reasonable. My wife and I have rented a cottage for a week in August for many years. The cottage looks the same every year. It is centrally located within walking distance of the beaches and shops.

Wonderful Time

Fantastic property, close to everything. We had an amazing time visiting York and this cottage made for a great home base. Everything is new which was nice and the bed's very comfortable. We stayed here with 4 teenage girls and the upstairs was perfect for them - two bedrooms and their own bathroom. Walked everywhere!

We were in Cottage #1 and we were extremely pleased with everything! It was only the two of us and there was plenty of room to spare. We felt pampered and special. The cottage was very clean and well supplied with the necessities. We had the pleasure of meeting Ed, personally, and knew that should we have needed anything at all, Ed would be there. However, nothing was needed for the two weeks we were there. The Cottage is within very easy walking distance to the beach and beach activities, stores, and restaurants. Because we come to the York Beach area every year to visit with family and rent a house for our stay, we believe we have found a jewel. Thank you Ed. We look forward to coming back. Absolutely perfect! Deserves more than 5 stars!

This cottage is so much bigger than we thought! It was laid out so well, was equipped with everything we needed (and more!), and is across the street from the beach. It is only a few minute walk to everything, and not in the middle of all the hubbub. The most perfect location! The place is spotless and felt like home. My sister and I left our husbands at home and took our kids on a week vacation together (10, 8 and 3 years old). We spent most days at Short Sands beach and a few afternoons at York Wild Kingdom, all just a few minute walk from the house. We grilled outside the house every day, and enjoyed the yard, neighbors, and shopping and eating in town. We also cooked many meals at home and the kitchen was equipped for everything--including a lobster pot and wine glasses! There was both china/glassware and plastic dishes/cups--a nice option with kids. We loved having a washer and dryer with three kids in the house (and it was so quiet we were able to run it at night.) The dishwasher was a great time saver, and the wood floors made it easy to keep the place clean. The WiFi was a nice amenity, as were the TVs in two of the bedrooms and the family room. Granite counter tops in the kitchen, a dining table to seat 6 or more, FR seating for 5 or more, and a large picnic table outside made it easy and enjoyable for us to entertain our friends when they came to visit for the evening. We loved this place so much I almost don't want anyone to know about it so it is available when we want it again, but I couldn't do that to the owners. They were so wonderful to us, and really helped make our stay fantastic and relaxing. There is nothing I would change about the cottage, and nothing we could think of that was missing. It was just perfect! We can't wait to return!!!
