Located in the typical greek village of Tselendata , surrounded by a forest of cypresses, Villakalimera is distinguished by its traditional stone housesā€™s character and charme.
Here you can relax in the several outdoor , articulated under the shadow of two apricot trees between cypresses and olive trees , just few steps from Foki beach . The house is spread over two floors: on the ground floor there is a large living room and kitchen; on the first floor there are two large bedrooms, with its own bathroom each .
Full equipped with facilities for barbecue , breakfast and lunch outdoors with friends ; for children to play , for reading under the trees, swaying lazily in the hammock.
Villakalimera is only 2 kilometers from Fiskardo, the lovely marina destination for the most experienced sailors and pleasure craft the most prestigious of the Mediterranean sea. Many small pubs and restaurants animate the picturesque sea front .
Villakalimera therefore has the double advantage to remain hidden from the more massive tourism but at the same time so close to Fiskardo to allow, to those who want ,to immerse themselves in the comings and goings of the many visitors that animate the picturesque harbor .
The welcome is guaranteed at Villakalimera by custodial staff that provides water and linen cleaning on arrival and departure of guests who stay there . It should be noted that the water on the island of Kefalonia is a precious good to be consumed with care and attention . It is stowed in the ancient cistern and is not drinkable but can be used for all needs: cleaning and cooking of visitors.

We had such a lovely holiday and stay at the Villa. It was perfect for our family and Marzia and Piero had put out toys for our 1 year old along side a cot and highchair which is perfect when you are traveling with children as it means you don't have to take as much with you. The accommodation was clean and beautifully decorated. It was so lovely to have the outdoor space for relaxing and having meals outside. Such a great location and close to Fiskardo and many beautiful beaches. We look forward to visiting again.

Relaxing stay at cozy house with pool

Villakalimera is a wonderful place for your recreational vacation. Marzia and Gianpiero are fabulous hosts, and the interior is designed with love and soul. A cozy place to be. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute. 5 stars voting overall!

Cute house in kefalonia

Lovely space to spend a relaxing week - very helpful and welcoming hosts. The house is gorgeous with everything you need for a holiday. You can walk in to Fiscado but a car is a necessity. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful house, lovely hosts we felt very welcome and well looked after! A short walk to the beach and taverna, you can go by road or a walking track through the woods, not ideal for older people as can get steep but very fun (approx 10mins)! The walk to Fiskardo is another 15/20 mins from the taverna and beach, we broke it up and stopped for a dip or drink on our way to the marina it was perfect! I would definitely stay again.

A blissful retreat

We booked Villa Kalimera at the last minute due to a French holiday being cancelled and were definitely not disappointed! If you love the old Greece this ancient village house is perfect and gives you the feeling that Pelagia might be drawing some water from the (locked ) well in the courtyard. Despite being traditional, Villa Kalimera has been rebuilt internally and has every comfort with good showers and a compact but good kitchen. It is furnished beautifully with antiques and a combination of whites and blues giving a bright mediterranean feel. It was lovely to have breakfast and lunch under the bougainvillea with huge stripey butterflies perusing the flowers nearby and the terrace with several different seating areas and refreshing pool was perfect. It's a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk to Foki beach for a sublime early morning swim and Fiskado with its array of restaurants is just further round the corner.

We had a lovely week, despite the weather. Everything was thought of even a radiator! Great hosts, friendly and very helpful, a pretty house and a lovely little village.

Gorgeous villa, perfect family holiday.

Thank you so much Marzia and Piero. We all loved staying in your beautiful villa and really didn't want to leave. Its a perfect mix of traditional and modern, clean, light and had everything we needed. Short drive to Foki beach and fab restaurant (don't walk with young kids in summer) I preferred Emplisi beach. Fiskardo is stunning. The girls were ecstatic when the kittens appeared with their mum and as you know spent hours playing with them all. We will always remember your kind hospitality and Villakalimera and hope to return one day. Hodgson family (Thank you for the lovely beach bag) x

A lovely relaxing break

We really enjoyed our time at Villa Kalimera - Piero and Marzia have designed a beautiful outside garden and seating areas around the small pool where everyone can find a place to relax and read and enjoy the day. There was always a lovely spot for sun or shade or both with plenty of outside eating spaces for all our meals. We were a family of four and we all had space. The kitchen had all we needed and Piero and Marzia were great hosts. We were surprised by all the small wild kittens in the area but after a few days got used to them in and out of the house and enjoyed watching them lounge in the sun. It was a great break and a beautifully and authentic stylish home. We know Piero is hoping to install air conditioning and with that he would have 5 stars from us.

A lovely villa in a tranquil location whilst remaining within walking distance of Foki beach and Fis

A traditional stone built property set amongst other similar dwellings. Furnished with care throughout the accommodation feels like a home from home. Outside there are plenty of shady spots beneath the apricot trees. A refreshing dip in the pool can be followed by an outside shower. Many personal items of furnishing can be found inside which makes your stay feel as if you are a guest in someone home. The owners are readily on hand if you need them but remain discreet so as to enhance your stay. Home made apricot marmalade was provided together with some practical assistance following a spectacular storm. Well located being a 15 minute drive to Alaties beach with Foki and Fiscardo being reachable by foot. With the coast road now open Assos can be reached in 20 minutes with Myrtos Bay 5 minutes further on. This is our sixth visit to the island and this villa remains our favourite with plans to return..

Lovely property, lovely hosts

We had a wonderful stay at Piero and Marzia's property. The cottage is beautifully and tastefully decorated, with a lovely terrace and sweet little pool which our kids (5 and 3) loved splashing in. The kitchen is small but has everything you need to cook. We were there in late May and the pool was comfortable to swim in. Marzia and Piero live in another wing of the house; they are available but keep a discreet distance except to water the garden, etc. They were very friendly and helpful. You're only a five minute drive from Fiskardo and a good little supermarket there, as well as all the lovely restaurants, etc. Foki beach, just a short walk from the property (although with two small children, we drove!) is absolutely brilliant, with lovely walks and fantastic snorkelling, as well as plenty of shade in the olive grove next to the beach. There's also a brilliant, traditional family taverna just up from the beach there. There are loads of things to do nearby, from spending time in Fiskardo to wonderful beaches (we especially liked Jerusalem beach with its fabulous taverna, and Dafnoudi beach). Ionian Discoveries have an unmissable day's boat trip which is a must-do. The taverna in Magganos, just a kilometre or two away, will do any of their food as takeways which was great for a family with small children. A hire car is an essential if you're staying at this property. The only downsides we found to this property were the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms, which were rather warm even with shutters kept closed all day, and there is no sea view from the terrace. But we warmly recommend as a wonderful place to stay.

Beautiful home and garden!

We had a wonderful week at Villakalimera, the house and garden are so beautiful, lovely shady areas, flowers and the pool was perfect to cool down in; kids enjoyed endless hours playing around in the pool, and being right next to the house we could easily keep and eye on them. The house was beautifully decorated inside too with the blue and white theme, lovely outlook and really nice and close to Foki beach. We loved Foki beach, great snorkelling and lots of shady places to chill out in the heat of the day, easy to find your own spot along the rocks too. We loved other beaches too, Kimilia and Emblisi; We had a great day out with Ionian Discoveries on their day trip where they take your to various beaches for snorkelling and show you the sea life, delicious lunch and highly recommended! We ate very well along the seafront in Fiskardo and beach restaurants, our favourite being the one at Jerusalem Beach, Odysseas Taverna, fantastic authentic Greek food! Piero and Marzia were really lovely hosts, so friendly and helpful, thank you both for providing such a fabulous place for us to stay for the week, we loved Kefalonia and hope to return one day soon!

The perfect holiday

Firstly, thank you Piero and Marzia for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. You were the perfect hosts. From organising baby essentials for our little girl, to advising on good places to eat and visit you made our 10 days with you feel like a home from home. The house was fully equipped, clean, comfy and had a wonderful homely feel to it where we all felt very safe. It is in a great location, a small stroll to Foki beach (which is glorious) and very close to fiscardo and even closer to supermarkets in Magganos. We are looking forward to coming back next year. Meraviglia di casa!

Siamo stati a Fiskardo alla fine di giugno 2015. La casa del sig. Donin ( davvero super cortese!) ci ha subito accolti con il suo calore e buon gusto. Che dire, comoda per ogni necessitĆ .Il piano sotto ĆØ composto da un'accogliente salotto con un bel tavolo dove abbiamo potuto cenare nelle sere particolarmente ventose e di una cucina attrezzata di ogni cosa. Il piano superiore, al quale si accede con una scala esterna tutta scavata nella pietra, ĆØ compostra da tre belle e accoglienti camere ognuna provvista di bagno privato. Essendo noi tre famiglie, con tre bambini, la sistemazione si ĆØ rivelata ottimale. La maggior parte del tempo lo abbiamo trascorso all'aperto, nel bel giardino, attorniati da piante e fiori, coloratissime farfalle e squisite albicocce con le quali siamo riusciti persino a fare la marmellata e un'ottima crostata per le colazioni. L'esterno ĆØ fornito di tavolo e sedie, sdraio e amaca dove rilassarsi dopo una giornata di sole e di mare. Che dire ancora? Consiglio assolutamente questa dimora per le vostre vacanze a Cefalonia...per noi ĆØ stata un sogno!!!

Por que o anfitriĆ£o escolheu essa propriedade

I hang out the island of Kefalonia For many years , Fiskardo particularly. I arrived almost 35 years ago when the houses were still all white and free camping still permitted. Slowly I watched tourism and facilities to accommodate grow. There where many buldings partially destroyed in the past by an earthquake and one by one they has been renovated . So was Villakalimera that appeared to me immediately beautiful: surrounded by a forest of cypress and so close to the amazing beach of Foki. The house has been declared 'traditional home' by the greek government and therefore protected in its forms and details.

O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?

The finishing and details are left as much as possible related to its past: the ancient cistern, the entrance to the lane facing to the village track, the small blue windows. The interiors are simple and there are mixed objects collected by the owner over many trips in Africa. The renovation of the house, built in 2006, has endowed it with important works in order to make anti-seismic reinforcement structures. The respect of the traditional forms of rural house did not prevent, however, to provide it with every modern comfort.
