Note that when arriving on certain beaches, holidaymakers can see "benches" of Posidonia, which are not clumps of algae but heaps of dead leaves (marine plants) that come aground sandstone waves and currents. The posidonia does not support the polluted water, its presence proves that the water is of good quality. The benches also make it possible to fight the erosion of the beaches by "blocking" the sand under the clusters. Posidonia is useful (erosion barrier) and protective (proof of purity of bathing water).
