I cant say enough nice things about this stay, it was an oasis of calm from the moment we arrived. The grounds are beyond expectation and the property is very clean. The check in process was smooth and commuication with the host was very easy.We didnt want to leave, thank you Jorge for a wonderful stay

A piece of Paradise

From start to finish perfect in every way possible,Isolated in the Forest and perfect silence, surroundings and garden unbelievable and all comforts catered for by our splendid host Jorge and the little town Caminha a 15 minute drive was delightful for a morning coffee and Pastry and watch the world go by.

Perfect rural getaway

Really peaceful location. Tennis courts and natural pond make this place special. Swimming pool large enough to swim in. So quiet yet easy to get to caminha.

Marvelous location, truly stunning place to stay

Staying in this immaculate watermill property, in such a unique location, with the waterfall running through it and beautiful surroundings, kept so well by Jorge and his wife. All of the facilities you may need, with a nice big pool. Less that 10 minutes from the lovely town of Caminha - we highly recommend this property and had a wonderful holiday. Thank you Jorge.

Heaven on earth

We have had a lovely stay at the house. The garden, waterfall and pool were very much appreciated. The surrounding of the house is very rural and pleasant. Plenty of nice day trips, like Valença and Baiona. Owner is friendly and easy going.

Charming place

house surrounded by silence and greenery. Living there is like visiting your beloved grandmother. Embroidered bedding, curtains, antique trinkets in the kitchen and rooms. Nice swimming pool and tennis court. You will rest and have nice time there.

A delightful and idyllic spot

This property provides a delight for all the senses: sight - the beautiful landscaped and designed grounds; sound - the waterfall right next to the house and terrace; smell - always something in bloom; taste - a great well equipped kitchen! Jorges is a delightful host - knowledgeable, communicative and welcoming. It was a pleasure to get to know him and we felt very welcome. Our stay there was a true delight and unforgettable.

Stunning

The pictures does not do this place justice. It is unbelievable beautiful. We had to pinch ourselves that we were actually there throughout the week! The couple Jorge and Victoria keep the place immaculate and they could charge an entrance to those gardens. It is like the garden of Eden. We would love to return!

Wonderful place

The first time the gates of the Quinta drew back and slowly revealed the beautiful gardens within was rather like Dorothy’s first glimpse of the Land of Oz – we definitely weren’t in Lancashire anymore. From sitting by the pool and swimming every so often, playing tennis in the court set in the hill above the house, to dining on the veranda just above the mill pond with the constant sound of the mini-waterfall, the experience was even better than the photographs had suggested it would be. I’d like to thank Jorge and Vittoria for creating this wonderful place, and for being such kind hosts and helping to make our stay so enjoyable.

Beautiful property in isolated setting

The house is set in beautiful gardens with a lovely decent sized swimming pool & a tennis court. In the main house there are 2 bedrooms & a bathroom & a good sized living room & kitchen. The 3rd bedroom & 2nd bathroom is accessed outside down stone steps & is entirely separate from the main house. The interior of the main house is a little tired but there is everything you need for a great stay. The owner is extremely attentive to your needs & responds immediately to any problems that arise.

Fantastic stay in the middle of the nature

Me anda few friends stayed in this location for some days to attend a festival, and this location made us want to skip the festival altogether. It's located near Caminha, but far enough from everything to the point where the only thing you can hear most of the time are the birds in the trees and the flowing river that passes through the property. We felt very welcomed by the owner, and were very pleasantly surprised by the accommodation itself, which contained all the necessary amenities and was thoroughly clean. There was an issue with the wifi, which, combined with the spotty cell reception in the area made internet access a bit more difficult, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise by "forcing" us to pay more attention to our beautiful surroundings.

Idyllic location, fabulous villa & attentive hosts

We have been booking successfully through VRBO for several years and this property wins 1st prize - Situated amongst a mature forest with a beautiful lake fed from our very own waterfall and a great size swimming pool and tennis court ! what more could we ever want - We intended this holiday to be one for relaxation and this definately delivered The house was well equipped and our 18 year old daughter appreciated having her own space in the annexe. Jorge and his wife were very attentive and even visited half way through our stay to clean and change the sheets & towels - If you want to get away from it all then this is the most beautiful place to do that ( I read 9 books in 14 days :-)) I can't really comment on the surrounding area because it wasn't that type of holiday but I can say that Caminha, which is 10 mins drive away has everything you could want or need and good places to eat - Thank you Jorge for a wonderful holiday

Beautiful house with stunning pools and gardes

We stayed in this stunning house with our two dogs and enjoyed every second. Jorge and Vitoria were there to welcome us very warmly with lots of useful information about the house and surroundings. They also provided us with food for the first day. The house was immaculately clean, the garden absolutely stunning and very spacious! We used the pools a lot as the weather was very hot. We especially loved the cristal clear natural pool right in front of the house. We loved the house so much that we didn't want to leave it for too long to explore the area which also has a lot to offer. There are nice walks and hikes right outside the door. Caminha is a nice little low key town which has great restaurants and a beautiful wild beach. We would love to come again! Thank you Jorge and Vitoria for letting us stay in your beautiful house.

A hidden gem

The watermill is just a great place to stay. All around you is nature, although the next City is not too far away (you really need a car though). We had a great time enjoying the really big garden, which Mr. Valas, the owner, really cares for and it shows. It is beautiful. The pool is big and there is even a tennis court (rackets and balls included). The waterfall gives the place a calming ambient and you can really just enjoy sitting outside and enjoy the view. Mr. Valas is a great guy and wants the best experience for his customers. He replies very fast and is easy to reach if you got any questions concerning the house or the region. Just be aware that the internet connection is not that great (a bit slow) but I think that helps with digital detox. It was our second time travelling here and I don't think it will be our last.

Férias de sonho

Propriedade absolutamente fantastica! Isolada, mas com acessos rápidos, embora com alguns troços difíceis... Talvez a precisar de renovar alguns equipamentos como pratos, copos e cutelaria, mas sem importância no balanço geral. Piscina com enquadramento excelente e muito bem tratada (como aliás, toda a propriedade). A repetir e recomendar! Com certeza!

Paraíso

Estivemos a passar uma semana na quinta da azenha . E recomendo vivamente a todos é um paraíso. O silêncio que se sente a cascata ao lado da casa, respira se natureza, longe da cidade não deve haver muitas herdades assim no norte . A hospitalidade a simpatia e o carinho dos proprietários é rara fazem nos sentir muito bem . E ainda nos trouxeram um miminho delicioso . simply beautiful

Our family of five stayed at this villa in July 2014 and this was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed at (and we do travel a lot). A lovely old mill, well restored, well appointed, manicured garden, it is very tranquil and surrounded by amazing nature. Some may find it a bit remote, but it was perfect for us. It had all the amenities we needed, including a private pool and a tennis court. The owner was very friendly and takes a very good care of the house and the garden. Just loved it and hope to stay there again!

Super séjour dans un petit coin de paradis qui nous appartenu seulement quinze jours

Nous remercions encore Vitoria et Jorge les propriétaires très très gentils. Ils sont à votre écoute et restent attentifs à vos besoins si nécessaire. Nous recommandons à tous cette pause dans un endroit paisible, tranquille et en surcroît un accord parfait avec la nature et l’eau (source et charmant petit ruisseau). Sehr schöner Aufenthalt

Wir waren Anfang August für eine Woche dort. Es ist ein wunderschönes Anwesen auf einem sehr gepflegten Grundstück. Die Unterkunft liegt sehr einsam, man benötigt auf jeden Fall ein Auto. Auf dem Hinweg dachten wir, dass es nicht richtig sein könnte. Doch, ist es wirklich. Der Pool und der Bach sind toll. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und sauber. Es ist halt kein Neubau. Jorge ist ein toller Gastgeber, der bei Fragen oder Problemen sofort kam. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Une semaine paradisiaque

La maison, un ancien moulin joliment restauré, se trouve dans un environnement exceptionnel. Le très grand jardin est fabuleux : fleurs, arbres, cascade et rivière naturelles, murs en pierres sèches, perspectives, papillons... le paradis ! Et kne tres belle poscine :)
