Permanent Vacation is a one-bedroom cabin that comfortably sleeps four adults, tucked back in the woods of Sevierville. Guests tell us the thing they love most is how private and quiet it is — you're surrounded by trees, but still only about 8 miles from Pigeon Forge.
Inside, the main floor has an open living area with a sofa that folds out to a bed and a TV with DirecTV. Because our Starlink Wi-Fi easily handles streaming, you can also pull up your own shows and apps right there in the living room. There's a full kitchen with an island where you can keep the cook company, and a half bath on the main floor so nobody has to head upstairs for it. Upstairs you'll find the bedroom with a king bed plus a daybed with a trundle, and a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo. We leave out fresh, hotel-sized shampoo, conditioner, and body soap so you can travel light.
The kitchen is fully stocked — full-size fridge and freezer, stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and all the dishes, pots, and pans you'll need if you'd rather cook in than eat out. There's also a full-size washer and dryer, which is handy on longer trips.
Outside is our favorite part. The covered hot tub stays usable year-round, rain or shine, and the patio gliders are a nice spot for morning coffee. There's a charcoal grill if you'd like to cook out (just bring your own charcoal and lighter). Because the cabin sits in a wooded setting, it stays peaceful — one guest mentioned they only saw one car the whole time they were here. We also keep a few board games on hand for cozy evenings in.
