Modern River Camp Located in Akers,LA next to the Famous Sun Buns Bar and Grill

**Access to camp is only by boat, we do offer a boat to taxi back and forth with for an additional fee. The boat ride from one side of the canal to the other, no more than a 1 minute ride.****

This Modern getaway is located In Manchac, LA and is very close to some very popular spots local spots. The main one is the Famous Sun Buns Bar and Grill that is located right next door. You can literally walk out the camps front door and walk there since the dock is attached to Sun Buns.

Some of the other local places within boating distance would be The Fuel Dock, Boopalou s, Tinn Lizzy s, Warsaw Marina, The Prop Stop and the Famous restaurant Middendorfs. Middendorfs can also we accessed by the hwy and is only a 3 minute car ride away.

The amazing camp offers 3 Beds, 2 Full bath and can sleep 6 Comfortably. There is plenty of room to fit air mattresses for the kids or you could even fit two people on the sectional couch. With request Queen size air mattress with linens can be dropped off.

Some other great features are the flat screen TVs, built in Bluetooth speakers, stainless appliances, sub zero fridge, quartz countertops, washer/dryer and the amazing view of the sunset on the west side of the camp through the huge Picture Windows.

Sun Buns, The Fuel Dock and The Prop Stop are only open weekends from April- mid September.

Nice place to really get away!

The owners were so nice & easy to work with! The house was perfect! It has everything we needed! The restaurants close by were delicious! Would def stay here again! Make sure you catch a sunset... They are beautiful

Perfection for our Fam Bam Vacation 2019

We absolutely loved our stay. It was definitely a home away from home. Not far from New Orleans. (45 min drive) Local area had great food and flea markets. We had all our grown kiddos with us and they loved it. Owner was amazing. Big thanks to Fred!!! We will be back.

Absolutely great people! They left the place nice and clean as the lunch found. They even filled our boat for us! We look forward to having them back when the river opens this summer!

Beautiful house

Very nice house looks just as listed. Outside is very dirty and not kept up with though, trash piled up. Inside was very clean, toilets constantly run though. Wifi barely worked for the first night, and then went out completely for the rest of our stay. The owner messaged us at 1am asking what time we wanted to leave, one day before we actually were supposed to leave, I u fortunately got covid while there so I left a fay early willingly, but the fact that he thought we were supposed to leave a day early is weird. He didn’t seem to know what was going on with the booking at all. He was very nice and helpful with trying to fix the wifi, even came over to try to help, to no avail. Not his fault- it’s the swamp. Overall it was a pleasant stay

Thanks for the stay! Actually got with my guy to get newer/bigger antenna since no wifi on the swamp is a pain! I have more than one Airbnb, I got the days mixed up between two of them unfortunately , seemed to work its way out thankfully. Either way, no one would have been forced to leave. They dates were still properly blocked off online.

Perfect Bayou Retreat

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay....from breathtaking sunsets to amazing wildlife. The location was perfect for visiting Louisana....close to New Orleans and not to far from Baton Rouge... The beds and couch were extremely comfy and we loved coming home for the day and just hanging out playing pool and board games.... The host and staff were very nice and always available. Would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends!

Great time!!

Even though the rain put a little damper on the weekend, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! Highly recommend for a family get away or a girls retreat!! We fished and took the boat out! Sun buns is next door so Bloody Mary’s definitely happened! Great place and owner was super accommodating.

A unique location. In the heart of Louisiana. Stunning views and wildlife. There’s an Eagles nest that sits behind the camp. A birdwatchers paradise. Small gators linger. And we caught fish right from the pier. The camp itself was comfy. With a porch all the way around. Will rent again!!

A birthday getaway

We really enjoyed the weekend once we were settled! I also a little upset that the owner didn't warn us the part where we were parked would be flooded a little l,made things harder. We had to use a kayak because no launches were opened (I did know that part) i just didn't know that the land wld be flooded! The place is beautiful and peaceful! Any other time,when the water isn't higher,it wld be wonderful!

Great Time!

We had a blast! 3 couples got together for the weekend and really enjoyed it. Parking can get crowded, so the designated parking for the camp is a must have with the large crowd.
