In response to this review. I feel very sad this group had a bad experience. To address the grievances: 1. It is stated on the VRBO site that the camp does have slow internet. There is full access for free, .07 miles away at the local General store. 2. Yes, there were brown tailed moth in the mid coast area. Unfortunately they are not in our control. We went immediately when they mentioned them and sprayed. We found one caterpillar, the tree was not infested. One can get a rash from their hairs, like poison ivy. It does itch. 3. On the VRBO site it did state coin operated laundry but it did not say”on site”. There are two laundry mats in town 6 to 7 miles away. 4. There is a water filter in the shed that needs to be changed for water pressure . They crammed 4 bicycles into this shed (without permission) so we then couldn’t get into this shed.. Once the bikes were moved, we changed the filter and the pressure was fine. The VRBO site clearly states you cannot drink the tap water. Bottled water only or boil for drinking. It’s fine for cleaning or showering. The majority of camps on a lake are fed water from the pond. 5. I can’t speak about the linens and plates. The sheets and towels are new and the plates are LL Bean blueberry collection.??? Unfortunately, I missed three dryer sheets in the bottom cupboard with the baking sheets and casserole dish. I do apologize for missing them. And yes I do put lots and lots of dryer sheets ALL OVER the entire camp in the fall to deter unwanted rodents through the winter! It seems to work since we don’t have any, 6. Can’t find the rotten shed step??? 7. Yes we do live next door. The texts being referred to are when we asked how many were staying there. It is also clearly stated that a maximum of 4 overnight guests. There were 7 to 8! It also states no parties and a maximum of 2 vehicles. There were 8 cars parked all over the front yard and a pop up camper staying overnight with NO permission. Yes, we texted to ask for this to stop. Clearly this group was not happy with us. They new I was not going to be around for 3 weeks because I had to take my son to Maryland for emergency surgery. I feel they were taking advantage of the rental agreement. There were NO rips in either of the screen doors prior to the stay. Dog or kids could of ripped them. It cost $80.00 to repair both doors. (We didn’t charge for the missing mattress pad) Sorry this was such a bad experience for your group.!Maybe rules should be adhered to. Staying home is much better for you.
