This Brand new Luxury triplex was finished in Jan 2019. Unit B is located on the 2nd level. Relaxing rooftop deck with La Palapa, pool, BBQ, couch, table and chairs with a fabulous view of the lagoon. Casa Chiva is located on one of the most charming streets in Barra and the units have a modern sophisticated feel, using indigenous Mexican materials.

Casa Chiva consists of 3 one bedroom units. Each Unit has wood-tiled floors, terrazzo countertops, kitchenette , air conditioning, flat screen TV equipped with roku as well as wireless internet connection.The building is situated in the middle of the Barra peninsula and is located within 100 paces from over 20 Restaurants, bars, stores, Fish market , ferry and charter boat businesses, all set in a safe and private setting. Casa Chiva puts you in the center of it all!

Great place!

We loved this little place! Everything was new and comfortable. As advertised it was the smallest of the units but really had everything we needed. We were right in the heart of Barra and Abel the manager was responsive to any questions we had. We definitely recommend it!

Absolutely Awesome

Love this place, perfect location to eat, drink, or just relax with no need to drive anywhere. Nightlife is great if you want that or if your like me you can just chillax anywhere. There’s anything and everything you would like within short walking distance. Hosts are the best!!!

Must say, we were very impressed with everything, from the rooms, cleanliness, private pool, and Abel, the property manager who is always there to attend to any requests, needs, or suggestions. We were so impresssed, we have already rebooked for next year.

Good location. Close to everything.

A little small for our stay. We spent 4 weeks. Bed linens need updating. Kitchen needs additional items for longer stays. We purchased a few items. Could use a microwave. Overall the location was good. Enjoyed the music from the restaurant next door when the worker can to clean up for the day. The upstairs pool and lounge was a plus. If we good back will try and book the larger unit on the second floor.

Unit B is a little gem

This cozy one bedroom apartment is located on the second floor of the building on a busy tree lined street. It is well designed, well built, and well appointed. Everything works. It has a two burner stove, a small coffeepot and a toaster oven in the kitchen, and all the utensils you might need. We found it very clean and quite charming. The pool is one floor up and has a magnificent view. Abel, the on site manager, was very pleasant and helpful. The apartment is located close to many restaurants, the beach, shopping and grocery stores. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly consider returning!

Fantastic location. Great little unit.

A door on the bathroom would have made this place better. Even a couple married for 40+ years needs their privacy once in awhile. Listing advertised a bbq, we were in Barra for 2 months and tend to do our own cooking. The bbq was a charcoal bbq. Rusted and unusable. Too bad. Also we are very private people and we’re not advised that besides the 3 units in this complex, the 2 bedroom unit next door also had access to the very small rooftop pool area. Other paying guests also invited friends over to use the pool, which I think is not acceptable considering how small the area is. Too bad this wasn’t addressed. Overall, great location and clean unit! Abel was very kind!

5/5…Very nice newer property in a great location.

This is a small newer condo complex in the heart of downtown right across from a magnificent old and very large Parota tree. We stayed in the smallest of the three units on the second floor. We absolutely loved our stay here in a very walkable area of Barra de Navidad. All your essentials are within a ten minute walk, groceries, small family taco stands and larger more traditional sit down restaurants/bars. The Malecon is just around the corner less than 5 minutes away with incredible views for morning walks and then again in early evening to see the amazing sunsets. The host Kane provided us with the direct contact info of the property manager Abel days before our stay and said he will take care of us. Abel was expecting our arrival and immediately provided us the entry details and keys. He was responsive and assisted us when needed always with a smile and kindness. He can usually be seen on the property keeping it maintained and cleaned. The rooftop deck was a real bonus for us since we used it almost daily! It has a small pool to cool off while enjoying beautiful views and it also has table/chairs under a large shaded Palapa and loungers for sun or shade. There’s an excellent restaurant right across the street name Bob’s Treehouse and if you get a chance to meet the owner Bob he’s also very attentive in making sure you enjoy your meal and is generous with portions and drinks. We would definitely stay here again! Angie and John

Perfect location

We had a great time in Barra and loved Casa Chiva! It was super clean and well appointed. And the rooftop deck with La Palapa, pool, BBQ, & lounge area was the perfect place to spend the mornings and evenings. Sometimes we didn't leave the rooftop all day! The music and activity all around us was fun and always over by 11pm. Abel was great! We will for sure be back.

In the Heart of Barra

This is a lovely apartment: modern, well-equipped and nicely maintained. The rooftop pool is gorgeous with a beautiful view. The property manager is easily reached and very helpful. The only caveat about this place is also one of it's best qualities - it's in the middle of everything. The beach, stores and restaurants are just a minute away. And, being in the middle of town, it's also noisy, especially on weekend nights. If being in the thick of things is your cup of tea, this is the perfect place.

Barra Experience

Unit B at 20 Calle Sonora is a new one-bedroom condo in downtown Barra de Navidad. It has shared access to the third floor deck and pool. The deck is the perfect place to watch a beautiful sunrise, a great spot to barbecue a steaks dinner share a meal with friends, have a refreshing dip in the pool or just relax with a good book. There are excellent restaurants within a 1- 10 minute walk; several spots nearby have live music nightly. The shops nearby met our needs completely. Within a 5 minute radius there is a grocery store with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, a meat shop, a bakery, a coffee bar, pharmacy, laundry, lots of shops with clothes, beach toys ....., a sports bar for hockey and football games and the beach. The condo has a comfortable bed, lots of cupboards and closets, a bathroom with a great shower and a sitting area and kitchen that is good for two people. The two burner stove and toaster oven with the B-Q on the deck were adequate for our cooking needs. The property is in the centre of downtown so can be noisy on Saturday and Sunday evenings but everything was quiet most evenings by 10 pm. There were only 3 or 4 loud late nights in the three and half weeks that we stayed. Those nights were quiet before midnight. We will definitely consider staying in Unit B again! The property manager Abel went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. He responded quickly to our messages with suggestions, solutions and Spanish lessons! Thank you Abel and Kane for making our stay enjoyable !

Excellent stay

Clean, pretty and in the heart of Barra (which means it can be a bit noisy, but that was not a problem for us). We had, I believe, the smallest of the 3 appartments, which was good for the three of us. I definitely recommand this place.

Located two homes down from my first original property here in Barra. It's a great area with a lot of things to do and see. Purchasing the property made for a great opportunity to have my family come visit my parents in Mexico more often. Relaxing rooftop deck with La Palapa, pool, BBQ, lounge area and table and chairs with a fabulous view of the lagoon.
