This rustic dog-friendly house is a basic Adirondack camp-style cabin nestled under the pines just yards from the water's edge on Loon Lake! Look out over the lake while sitting at the kitchen table, or cozy up in the evenings in front of the smart TV with Netflix streaming. This property has a total of 105 feet of direct frontage on the eastern shore of Loon Lake, and it also offers a 20-foot dock with space to park your boat. Swim or fish from the dock, spend your days out on the water, and start a campfire back at the shore in the evenings. Come and check out what the excitement on Loon Lake is all about!

As with many remote homes in the Adirondack Park, this is a carry-in, carry-out location. Please take trash to the Chestertown Landfill/Transfer Station. We recommend calling early in your stay to find out fees and open days.

Dead mouse in kitchen to which Vacasa agent essentially said, ā€œsorry. Thanks for letting us know.ā€ Three prong appliances - but two prong outlets. Zero wine glasses. Three empty, cracked trays for ice. Light bulbs way too dim for space. Very dark. Heat did not work. Laundry line on porch with only three clips.

Dingy musty dirty

Ants, mouse poop in/on dishes and pots and pans. Very old and dingy dirty. Has a terrible musty smell that didnā€™t go away with the windows open. Stains on all the carpets and plate size vomit looking stain on the couch, which I cleaned off and covered with bedspread. The lake and property are beautiful. Inside and outside windows dirty enough with many cobwebs. I wouldnā€™t call it rustic itā€™s a dump

Great small, simple cabin

Cabin was just enough for our visit. Basic needs were available except drinking / cooking water. Though not too much trouble, it would be nice to be able to drink the water from the faucet. Otherwise home and outside area (fire pit / picnic area ) were wonderful

Basic Cabin But Great Lake View!

We very much enjoyed this simple Adirondack cabin, the fireplace by the lake and the stunning views. Our only concerns were that the water comes from the lake (we wish we had been advised) and that lake access from the dock is very difficult to maneuver.

The cabin and the outside property (other than the driveway which needs attention) weā€™re great, The cabin is old and needs some upgrades but was perfect for our stay with the grandchildren. We loved that clean bed linens and plenty of towels were provided. The kitchen worked fine for us and happy plates, silverware, etc were provided. We loved the outside fire pit (great for sā€™mores) and the view and access to the lake was great, The granddaughters went fishing off the 20 foot dock and caught 2 perch. There is a row boat but we would have loved 2 kayaks. We would have liked an easier driveway as no low car is navigating thst, We would go there again so this is an overall good review.

Not for everyone but perfect for our family

If you are looking for a fancy, large, elaborate lake house, this isn't it. If you are looking for a cozy, comfortable, family friendly (including your 4 legged family) lake house this is it. This was our 2nd summer with a week long rental at this house and we had a great time this year too. We had a few issues (wrong key code to lock box sent to us, told there was a new grill but the dangerous grill from last year was still there) but Vacasa reimbursed us for the inconvenience. Most likely will book for next summer.

House was very clean ! Couple of things . One side of the grill wasnā€™t working . One board on the dock is broke . Someoneā€™s foot could go through . Bathroom sink is draining really slow . Thank you again for sharing your home . We enjoyed the area !

Nice place to stay, pet friendly

This is a nice spot on the lake with a dock and a great view. Be aware that there is no beach and the driveway is very steep but it is a very livable vacation home, nicely kept and in a great location. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Beautiful views but..

The view from the cabin was beautiful, and the clean linens and towels were great, but thatā€™s the only thing going for this house. If you go with a family and would like to prepare meals good luck. There was only one pan the size of a pancake, and there were pots, but finding the right lids was another adventure. Glassware almost none existing. There two glasses and two plastic cups, but plenty of mugs. The cabin was only clean superficially. There was dust on all the furnishings, and mouse droppings on the bottom kitchen cabinets. Like I said before the views are beautiful, but if you want to look out the window in the kitchen you would need to go outside and clean the spider webs first. The lighting in the bedrooms was really bad. So if you are getting ready for bed you will need a flashlight to find your things. If you are taking a shower donā€™t look up because you will see mold. If you are going to continue renting the cabin please give it a little facelift.

Nice place when have motor boat and need dock

Family has been going to Friend's Lake for over 40 years, but owner of the place we rented sold it last year. Now there are no rentals on FL that allow outside boats. Tubing and fishing are the priorities for vacation, so we needed to find a new lake. House is nice but basic, as name says, but it was comfortable, sooo close to the water, and had a personal dock. It worked great for us and we really liked it, but I know there are people that this would not be fancy enough for. As I said, fishing is a priority. As we had no idea of fishing spots on this lake it was a slow start. But by the end of the week the fishing was OK. Hopefully over the years we will find all the good fishing spots. The other priority, tubing, varied over the week. FL is smaller and private, so sometimes the boat traffic was more than we are used to. If there was one thing we could change about this property it would be water access. On one side of the dock is a wall, the other side a very steep slope. There are some rocks stacked up like stairs off the base of the dock to make it easier to get in/out of the water, but that did not work for our dog. Our dog won't jump into water and we were hoping that there would be a gradual entrance into the water so she could get in. This could also be an issue for toddlers/young kids. We liked this place enough that we already reserved our vacation week next year!

Disgraceful driveway

The driveway was full of MULTIPLE RUTS and MULTIPLE POTHOLES!!! This added to the steepness made it very difficult to get up and down even in my SUV. I reported it right at check-in time; and nothing was done. HORRIBLE!!!

Great time with our adult kids!

The cabin on Loon Lake was perfect. We took our adult kids and had a great time. The cabin was clean, comfortable and right on the lake, New stove and refrigerator, plenty of nice towels, bed linens were comfortable, nice outdoor grill. We intend to go back! We even got to bring our dog! We rented a pontoon from Loon Marina, people there were great.

The location is amazing, the house came with more commodities than the listing entailed. We had a great week by the lake. I would highly recommend this listing to others.

The cleanliness of this property was supreme. There was no AC which made the first 2 days that we stayed pretty awful (It was in 90's and humid) not much to do around the area except swim in the lake. The inside is a little outdated but charming. Decorations of crosses all over, we were fine with that but it's not for everyone. Otherwise easy check in and out. Very clean. I would say bring your own sheets bc these sheets were scratchy. Overall if they had AC for the very hot days, we would return.

Nice getaway place

Nice place for relaxing and getaway from normal busy city lifestyle. Since this is a old house, there is small smell, but itā€™s as expected and acceptable.

Very basic but great location

This was basic as described. The owners could use to invest some of their rental income back into the house. It was not particularly clean could use a new couch. The kitchen dishes and utensils were pathetic and glassware was almost non-existent. There were exactly 5 different glasses that looked like they were lifted from a diner or pub. It would not take too much to make this place as special as the location.

Very basic as advertised. Add indicates this cottage sleeps up to eight people. Thereā€™s one bathroom, and the rooms are very small. I would not recommend more than four people.

Didnā€™t particularly love anything about this place. It was basic. The inside was relatively clean. Itā€™s absurd to have a 4 cup coffee maker in a place that sleeps eight people. I would never recommend this place for more than four people. Beth was tiny and there was only one.

The cabin was neat, charming and beautifully nestled near the lake. We planned on eating out but the setting was so perfect for grilling and eating at the picnic table side lakeside or eating at the indoor table with a perfect view of the lake, we chose to stay in two out of three nights. We would certainly love to return.
