Grand Marais House of Light is a custom home located in the heart of Grand Marais, Minnesota. With every detail crafted by the area’s top home builders, with sustainable practices in mind such as cork floors, this light wood-paneled home creates a bright and airy feeling. Grand Marais House of Light has large windows that allow in natural light while the foliage and fencing surrounding the home provide solitude and privacy. The home features a beautiful open living area with a kitchen, dining room, and living room. The two bedrooms share a beautifully designed custom bathroom. Although right in the middle of town, this home has been carefully positioned on the property to give you the utmost amount of privacy for an in-town home. Allergy Warning: Although this home does not allow guests to bring pets, the owner has a dog. We cannot guarantee a dander-free home. Bedrooms/Bed Sizes Bedroom 1 - Queen Bed Bedroom 2 - Twin Bed Bathroom Shower/ Tub Area Information Just two blocks from Grand Marais Harbor, you are easy walking distance to downtown Grand Marais art galleries, shopping, and sites, while being centrally located to many wilderness outdoor activities available on the North Shore. Only a few miles away are state parks, beaches, the Gunflint Trail, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, biking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling trails, and so much more. You will find adventure year-round in Grand Marais.

This is a beautifully designed and very clean cottage in the center of Grand Marais. We enjoyed the gas fireplace in particular. Love all the windows!

Perfect!

Beautiful little house for a nice get away week! My husband skied and I was able to work remotely, it was fantastic to have a monitor available to plug into! Great location, house amenities were five stars!

Beautiful Design!

The best rental I’ve ever stayed in. Well appointed and even more beautiful than the photos. Three blocks from the Grand Marais beach. Very close to restaurants and shops. Anyone who cares about good design will appreciate the details in this house. I can’t wait to return to The House of Light!

A Home up the Hill

We felt like we were on a trip across the ocean( Lake Superior) while staying in a quaint, yet beautiful, home, away from home. We will plan to return in the future, after we save up for the next journey!!

Beautiful house and perfect location

The house of light was as promised. It was bright, airy and modern. The house had everything we needed for a long weekend stay in Grand Marais and the location in proximity to shops, coffee and the water was just right. My only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Fabulous setting

Everything about this beautiful house is spot on. Great location too! We were really delighted by the detain and privacy of this home. Very thoughtfully done! Being central in grand marais was a lot of fun. No car needed unless we we were out hiking.

Beautiful property in the heart of Grand Marais

This was one of the best VRBO stays we’ve had. The house was clean, conveniently located, and beautiful! The fireplace was wonderfully cozy. It had all the amenities we needed including a washer and dryer. The only negative was the gas stove cooks really hot and we had to adjust for that. We’re used to cooking with gas at home so it wasn’t us! All told, we had a great stay!
