The Maison des Oiseaux has been the subject of a careful restoration of more than 2 years which has allowed it to regain its beautiful pride, while offering to those who live in it, a simple and relaxed art of living, quite current.
The mistress of the house by reinterpreting the traditional decoration of Portuguese stately homes - decorative paintings, stucco, ceramics, ornamental textiles - combines her creativity with the simplicity and refinement of the art of hospitality "alentejano".
A unique place to discover, with family or friends, one of the most beautiful regions of Portugal, a beating heart and that connoisseurs already consider as the Tuscany of Portugal.

La Maison des Oiseaux is located in the heart of the historic town of Crato in Alto Alentejo; the city, cradle of the Order of Hospitallers in Portugal at the beginning of the 13th century, then seat of the Order of Malta a century later, is located in Alto Alentejo 2 hours from Lisbon and a few kilometers from the Spanish border.
Despite its historical importance, the city of Crato has a small urban center, which allows visitors to interact with the local population and take full advantage of the best that the Alentejo has to offer: a place where can recharge its batteries, surrounded by nature, peace, fresh air.

La Maison des Oiseaux has 3 bedrooms on the ground floor opening onto the lower terrace and one bedroom upstairs.

Each bedroom has its own decor and has its own bathroom and a dressing room or wardrobe.
In three of the bedrooms you can choose either 2 single beds of 90x200 or the option of a King Size bed of 180x200.
The fourth bedroom has a 160x200 bed.
The mattresses are of superior quality
Towels, pool towels and sheets are provided.

Comfort being, with the harmony of materials and colors, the other essential concern, the emphasis is on white and ecru which predispose to rest, the touches of color being provided by the linen headboards , created for the home and printed entirely by hand.

Each bathroom has a different theme, Buffon monkeys, seabed, mythological characters, bathers, made in the technique of real cutting, which makes them very unique.
Hair dryer and toiletries are provided.

The house has a dining room, a living room which opens onto the outside terrace and a fully equipped kitchen also opening onto the terrace.

La Maison des Oiseaux is equipped with dishwasher, fridge with freezer, oven and microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, wifi, flat screen TV, cot and high chair on request.

The whole house is furnished with a mixture of family furniture, vintage pieces and custom creations.

In the small town of Crato you will find a bank ATM, supermarket, bakery, cafe, restaurant.
