Newly built interior in this 2 bedroom one bath apartment with Lake Junaluska view from deck. Adjacent hiking trail with many more hiking options nearby. All new appliances, fully equipped kitchen, nicely decorated throughout.
Find yourself at beautiful Lake Junaluska surrounded by the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains. Adjacent Waynesville, NC is very artsy with many neat shops, great restaurants, unique home furnishings stores and galleries. Touristy Maggie Valley is just six miles down the road. Cherokee with all its shops, Cherokee Nation Museum and Harrah's Casino is only a 35 minute drive through the scenic Smoky Mountains. You could even spot a Black Bear or Elk along the way, which are thriving in Western NC.
Enjoy swimming and hiking in the summer, snow skiing and snow tubing in the winter (ONLY 10 MILES TO THE NEAREST SKI LIFT AND 6 MILES TO FAMILY SNOW TUBING, see photos).

Our property sits on the Lake Junaluska grounds within walking distance to the Lake, which has a two and a quarter mile hiking trail around the lake. Speaking of hiking, nearby there are some of the best hiking you will find anywhere, with scenic waterfalls, from "easy" to "extreme" opportunities.

VERY FAST INTERNET WIFI and 3 SMART TVs ARE INCLUDED. Everything inside is very new just waiting for you to enjoy: Washer, dryer, range, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig coffee maker (upscale coffee provided), ELECTRIC FIREPLACE, stylish lighting with central heat and air.
Luxury towels, linens, flatware, silverware, kitchen utensils, gas grill and grill tools provided.

The VERY PRIVATE OUTSIDE DECK has seating and dining table, a newer gas grill and Lake and mountain views. It's all here, all you have to do is show up.

OUTDOOR RECREATION: Lake Junaluska (on-site access), Cataloochee Ski Area (10 miles), Family snow tubing (6 miles) Little Sam Knob hiking Trail Head (17.1 miles), Shining Rock Trail Head (22.0 miles), fun Sliding Rock, Waterfall Highway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pisgah National Forest are all nearby.

THINGS TO DO: 18 hole Lake Junaluska Golf Course, Maggie Valley Snow tubing, Horseback riding, Wheels Through Time and Motorcycle Museum (6.2 miles), Blue Ridge Parkway (11.0 miles), Cherokee (23.5 miles), The North Carolina Arboretum (28.8 miles), Biltmore Estate (31.8 miles), Great Smoky Mountains Railroad (38.0 miles) Asheville, NC (28 miles) and artsy Waynesville just a just 5 minute drive.

We enjoyed our stay. The apt was very clean and comfortable and our host was so accessible. He answered our questions without any delay. Do note that the apt is at the bottom of a flight of stairs. We would come back again and experience summer here.

Host was welcoming and helpful; apartment was charming, well equipped and so clean! Location gave us a lake view and delightful back deck for soaking up beautiful fall weather in peace. A bonus was being able to bring our dog with us--her portable crate slid easily into the laundry room as well for bedtime. Thank, Larry, for a great stay!

We have a week long conference every year at Lake Junaluska. In searching for a place to stay within our price range and allows animals, I found the Starstorm Mountain apartment. Larry was great! Communicated well. The check-in process was easy. The apartment was very clean. It was a great place for us to come home after working our event. It’s not far from Stuart Auditorium where our meetings were held.

Modern apartment in a cozy setting

I grew up going to Lake Junaluska with my family so I am very familiar with the area. Starstorm Apt #2 was perfect for my husband and me. We appreciated the clean aesthetic and modern appliances. It was even prettier in person than the pictures. I love the mix of colors used in the decor -- light and airy, versus dark colors used in a lot of mountain homes. The place was immaculate. It is well taken care of. A variety of coffee was provided for the Keurig, basic seasonings for cooking, and cleaning supplies if needed. We cooked a lot of meals and had everything we needed in regards to pots, pans, and utensils. We loved spending time on the deck reading or playing games. We did not have issues with bugs. We had no issues with TV or Wi-Fi.Larry provided great communication before our arrival and checked in on us after a day or so to make sure we had everything we needed. The only confusing thing was that VRBO sent us an access code for the keypad that did not work. I quickly realized that Larry sent a message that included the actual access code.We loved our stay. It was comfortable, clean, and so peaceful. We definitely plan to come back and stay here agian!

We had a great time visiting. The apartment was downstairs and private, with it's own deck. We met the owner's son and he was able to handle a few request and answer some questions about the area.Neighborhood and residence was very quiet, and restful.Planning on staying again.

Lake Junaluska Getaway

Short three night visit. Tremendously enjoyed the property. Quite comfy,clean and easily accessible to all attractions,restaurants, and shopping. Especially enjoyed the walking path around the lake. Highly recommend.

Fall getaway

My husband and I just wanted a quick fall getaway and Junaluska is always a wonderful place. This property is just amazing. Great kitchen and porch. Also, we actually watched tv because of the baseball playoffs and reception was so good. Honestly, can’t wait to come back.

A Perfect Mountain Getaway

This property was absolutely perfect for our family of 4! Everything was as described. Larry was such a communicative host also. The place was super clean and well stocked (one paper towel roll, one roll of toilet paper, a few trash bags, dishwasher pods, K-cup coffees, a few tupperware, handsoaps for bathroom and kitchen, small thing of Dawn dish soap, body wash in shower, Febreeze in bathroom, etc) We will absolutely be back to this property again! One thing to note and this is not a bad thing - but if you sleep hot, there are not ceiling fans in the bedrooms so bring a small fan for the nightstand. Again, not a negative thing, just something to note for sleeping preference.

A nice getaway at the lake

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake Junaluska. The apartment was clean, spacious, and quiet. The owner is very responsive and made sure everything went smoothly for our stay. (He even mailed us a stuffed animal that our sone had left by mistake!). There are many things to do around the lake and golf course just across the street. Very convenient to Waynesville and Maggie Valley. A nice place to unwind and relax. Thanks for your hospitality!

Wonderful stay in the Great Smokies
